Explore and construct in Digger Sandbox, a simulation where creativity meets heavy machinery. Team up with friends to sculpt terrain and operate real-world diggers in a persistent, shared sandbox environment.

About this game

Dig, build, and play in a physics-driven sandbox world where heavy machinery meets creativity.

Take control of powerful construction vehicles—from skid steers to excavators—and tear into fully deformable terrain. Every scoop of dirt is simulated, every load has weight, and every pile you make stays where you left it. Digger Sandbox is all about giving you the tools and letting you decide what to build, destroy, or experiment with.

🔑 Features

  • Fully Diggable Terrain – Shape the world with voxel-based digging, dumping, and sculpting.

  • Realistic Physics – Buckets fill with dirt, loads shift with momentum, and vehicles feel weighty.

  • Multiple Vehicles – Jump into skid steers, excavators, and more heavy machinery, each with unique controls.

  • Sandbox Freedom – No missions, no timers—just you, the dirt, and endless possibilities.

  • Multiplayer Support – Work together (or cause chaos) with friends online.

  • Persistent Worlds – Save your construction sites and return later to continue your projects.

🎮 Why Play?

Whether you want to build the ultimate construction site, dig giant holes just because you can, or test the limits of physics with friends, Digger Sandbox is your playground for heavy machinery mayhem.

Get in, start digging, and make a mess worth remembering.

Server Load Test Complete - Thank You!

The first Digger Sandbox server load test has now finished and the servers will be going offline. We had players joining from all over the world and managed to find a heap of problems that we probably wouldn't have found testing by ourselves. There were definitely a few rough moments 😅We found some pretty nasty bugs with vehicles that could leave players stuck, issues with vehicle spawning and persistence, some strange crane physics and a number of smaller problems. One of the biggest things we found was how much higher ping can affect some of the vehicle controls. Excavator arms in particular could become quite stuttery while other controls worked fine, so that's something we're going to spend some time improving. We also learnt a lot from running the test itself and we'll be doing things a little differently next time. What's Next? We're going to take the servers offline while we work through everything we found. This isn't the end of the Playtest and you don't need to uninstall it.Once we've fixed some of the bigger problems we'll organise another test and hopefully get even more people digging at the same time.Join Us On DiscordWe'd also really like to get more of our testers into the Digger Sandbox Discord. It'll make it much easier for us to let everyone know when servers are coming online, organise future tests and hear about bugs or weird things you manage to find.https://discord.gg/6HpqkNE7u9If you played during this test we'd really love to hear how it went, even if you only managed to play for a few minutes.Wishlist Digger SandboxThe Playtest is separate from the main Digger Sandbox Steam page, so if you haven't already, please wishlist and follow the main game as well.It really helps us out. Thanks again to everyone who took part. You gave us plenty to work on!See you in the next test

Digger Sandbox Server Load Test Starts Today!

Test WindowOur servers are now open and ready for testing (start time shown in our Server Load Test event) and remain available throughout the announced testing window. If you've tried launching the Playtest early and couldn't connect, don't worry — the servers have intentionally been offline until the test begins. What We're TestingThe main goal of this test is to see how the dedicated server performs with a larger number of players online at the same time.Jump in, drive some machinery, dig, move dirt, explore the map, and generally put the server under some pressure!Expect lots of bugs and incomplete game mechanics - the test objective is to observe the server heavy load and guage what features we can handle gameplay wise over the network. When you encounter bugs, connection problems, strange vehicle behaviour, or other issues during the test, please let us know. Thanks to everyone who signed up and has been following development.See you in the sandbox! 🚜

Server Load Test – Times Confirmed

Test WindowThe test will run for 48 hours, beginning August 24 (ET).Check the event start time above for the start time in your local timezone. The server will remain online for the full 48-hour test window, aside from any restarts that may be required during testing. All Playtest Sign-Ups Will Be AcceptedFor this test, we're opening the doors.Everyone who has requested access to the Digger Sandbox Playtest will be accepted before the test begins. If you haven't signed up yet, there's still time — head to the Digger Sandbox Steam page and request access to the Playtest. What Do I Need You To Do?Just play the game.Drive machinery, dig, move dirt, explore, interact with other players and generally put the server through as much abuse as you can.The purpose of this test is to see what happens when we have significantly more players connected at once, so the more people who jump on, the more useful the test will be.As mentioned in the original announcement, this is a technical playtest. Expect bugs, unfinished features and potentially a server restart or two.If something breaks, that's useful — finding out what breaks is exactly why we're doing this. Thanks to everyone who's signed up so far. I'm looking forward to finally getting a bunch of you onto the server at the same time.See you in the test! 🚜
