About this game

Genki Break! is a fast-paced 3D fighting game all about movement and stamina management!

Genki Break! features an 8-way walk, 4-way dashes, and directional-based movesets along with a unique stamina system.

Don't feel like losing? Press all 3 buttons and spend a chunk of stamina to regain a sliver of health and get back in the fight using ADRENALINE RUSH.

Avoid overspending stamina or risk becoming STAMINA BROKEN. A state in which any knockdown becomes fatal.

End in a round while STAMINA BROKEN or in ADRENALINE RUSH, you'll enter STAMINA PENALTY for the next round. STAMINA PENALTY reduces your maximum stamina.

It features a cast of 5 unique fighters: Alex, Lumber, Sho, Mike, and Waen!

Waen, a Muay Thai boxer with a mix long pokes and up-close pressure.

Lumber, a pro-wrestler with heavy hitting attacks and even heavier throws!

Alex, a boxer with evasive movement and quick strikes.

Sho, a martial artist equipped with a nice balance of powerful and fast strikes.

Mike, a street brawler with advancing strikes and brutal offense.

Modes include: Online Versus, Local Versus, 4-Player, Arcade, Survival, and Training.

Online Versus: Play versus in online lobbies with ROLLBACK NETCODE!

Local Versus: Duke it out side-by-side, one on one.

4-Player: A chaotic 1v1v1v1 arena battle, last one standing wins!

Tag-Team: Choose 2 fighters each and fight it out in 2v2 match with unique tag-based mechanics.

Arcade: Face all 5 fighters leading up to a climatic final boss to win the Genki Break! tournament!

Survival: Fight an endless onslaught on increasingly difficult fighters.

Training: Hone your skills, analyze the data, and lab combos! Featuring a hitbox viewer, frame data, and various other options to give you all the tools you need to practice the game!

March 2026 Update (New Character: Lee)

SURPRISE! Lee is now in the game! They have a buncha swords!!! Other than that there is the new wake-up option, Catch, which acts as a parry while on the ground. Lumber can extend his by holding Guard until he runs out of stamina. There are also a lot of random misc changes. The biggest one is that Lumber has slower walk and dash speeds now. He's not quite as slow as Roman, but still slower than the rest of the cast. Quick Match and Tag-Team Lobbies have been removed for the time being. They were just pretty buggy and need a re-work/overhaul. They were also very tedious to keep in line with the rest of the game as new characters and features were added. They'll probably return one day if I find the time to fix 'em up.

    November Patch #2

A lot of small bug fixes have been rolled out this past, this patch represents all of them.Adjusted collision behavior to remove the small player bias."Random Block" training option now works as intended.Changed Lumber Combo Trial 5 to make it possible after the October Update.Mike's Lipstick Toss input is read properly on P2 side.Sho's idle stamina regen has been fixed, making his trait function as intended.Sho's Raging Demon now has a screen freeze effect and does 5000 damage instead of 6000.Sho's Raging Demon puts him in Enraged state for the rest of the game. Removes his trait and his ability to Raging Demon."Block After" training option will now properly block one frame gaps.Sho's Focus Step > K followup hitbox has been lowered and brought back a small amount.A few moves in Trial mode had their Input Names adjusted to be the correct input.Spending the last of your stamina while getting up will no longer trigger the round end count down. Thanks to "chef" for finding most of these! Also thanks to the Discord for their suggestions! I think that's it. Enjoy!
