    Community Roadmap, Playtest, and Events

Greetings, Heroes! Since the reveal of Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake, we’ve received a large amount of passionate and varied feedback. It helps us to see what matters most to the community. Our goal is to balance that feedback with a clear vision for the remake and a development plan that allows us to deliver the best possible experience.  Our Plan for the Coming Months  To make sure we give every major topic the depth and attention it deserves —and to thoroughly evaluate your ideas within our actual dev framework, our communication will follow two main tracks over the coming months: 4 Feature Cycles: Structured focus periods where we dive deep into key Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake features, systems and design frameworks. A Continuous Faction & Art Track: Running alongside those cycles, this parallel track will focus on faction reveals, visual direction, dedicated faction videos, and art-focused developer blogs. This approach will allow us to share our design vision, listen closely to your feedback, and regularly report back on the evaluated insights and progress. Cycle 1: Playstyles Since our reveal, one of the most animated discussions in the community has been classic charm versus a modernized experience.  To accommodate these differing preferences, we are exploring the "Playstyles" system. Playstyles offers a flexible framework that allows you to adjust key elements—such as object scale, color and lighting, and UI/UX design—influencing the overall atmosphere and feel, so you can enjoy the remake in the style that suits you best. Cycle 2: Game Modes & Quality of Life (QoL) Improvements Player customization and Quality of Life (QoL) features to enhance overall gameplay comfort and usability. Cycle 3: User-Generated Content (UGC) Map editors, modding support, and more Cycle 4: Multiplayer & Long-Term Operations Hotseat, PvP, and beyond. (These are just the topics we’ve listed for now—we may explore more as we move forward.) Ongoing Adjustments to the...

A message from the Heroes III Remake team

Hi Heroes fans, We had an amazing time at gamescom, it was great that some of you were able to experience it at the Ubisoft booth, or watch our dev panels live from the gamescom showfloor. Now that the remake of Heroes of Might and Magic III has been officially announced, we wanted to take a moment to speak directly to you, the community. Over the past week, we've been reading feedback, questions, concerns, and suggestions from players across all of our community channels. The amount of passion and engagement has been remarkable, and we're currently reviewing and discussing everything internally. We know many of you are looking for answers, and while not every topic has a decision or update to share yet, please know that your feedback is being heard. We don't want to give placeholder responses or make promises before we have concrete information to communicate. Heroes III is a game that means a great deal to us all, and we take that responsibility seriously. Your passion, honesty, and dedication to the franchise are invaluable as we move forward. We'll have more to share in the future, and we look forward to continuing this journey together. For Erathia! The Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake Team

    Welcome Back to Erathia

Commanders, following last night's announcement, we know many of you have questions. In this dev blog, and in the ones to come, we'll be answering them step by step. The First Question Why make a remake? The simplest answer is: because people still love it. For nearly 30 years, Heroes of Might and Magic III has remained the gold standard of turn-based strategy games for many players and one of the most celebrated entries in the entire franchise. Exploring vast adventure maps, engaging in tactical battles, building armies, and developing heroes are experiences that have stood the test of time. Even today, their influence can be seen across modern strategy games. Within the Heroes III community, players continue to create maps, develop mods, analyze strategies, and organize tournaments. While many classic games gradually lose their active player base over time, Heroes III has maintained a unique vitality thanks to its dedicated community. But time has inevitably left its mark. Modern players expect more intuitive interfaces and information displays, more immersive experiences, and more reliable multiplayer features. None of these things change the strategic depth of Heroes III itself, but they do affect how players experience it today. Heroes III has already proven its greatness. Our goal is not to redefine it, but to ensure that it remains a game worth discovering, experiencing, and loving for the next thirty years. That is why we decided to create a remake.  A Remake, But What Kind of Remake? We do not believe that Heroes III needs to be reinvented. Our task is to understand why it succeeded and bring that success to a new generation of players. Back in 2015, Heroes III HD Edition was released with the goal of bringing the game to modern systems through higher-resolution visuals and updated compatibility. However, both community feedback and player reception made one thing clear: for a game like Heroes III, improved graphics alone are not enough. Players want access...
