About this game

Pixel Troopers is a frenetic co-op shooter with a 3D pixel art aesthetic, where you and your friends must survive relentless waves of insects, grotesque creatures, and enemies of all kinds.

Each match is a hail of bullets, explosions, and flying bodies.

🛡️ Cooperate, defend, and annihilate

Each mission offers different challenges: protect an area, hold out until evacuation, or completely clear the infestation.

🔫 Classes and arsenal

Choose your class, equip your weapons—which vary depending on your role—and purchase new ones in the store between waves. From heavy rifles to flamethrowers, anything goes to stop the swarms.

💀 Pixelated brutality

Every enemy you eliminate leaves a trail. The insects splatter blood all over the landscape. Because yes: a good battlefield should look like one.

👾 Co-op Multiplayer and Deathmatch

Play co-op with your friends or face them in deathmatch to see who's the best Pixel Trooper.

    PIXEL TROOPERS: RELOADED PART 1

Hello everyone! How are you all? Did you think I had forgotten about Pixel Troopers? NOOOO, never.I took my time—quite a lot of time—but I’m still working on Pixel Troopers, and I’ve been listening to your feedback. Many comments mention that the game is very difficult, or at least that its difficulty curve is too steep from the start. And although I still have another balance patch planned, I think with this update things should be much better for now. While reviewing the global stats, I noticed that most players give up on the main mode after 2–3 attempts, which is very few. So now the balance should feel much better, and I believe you’ll be able to get further with fewer retries. So, let’s move on to what’s new in this update.GeneralEnemiesAll enemies now have reduced stats—both lower damage and lower health. Some of them, however, are now slightly faster. I plan to add scaling difficulty for the insect enemies in a future update, based on the wave number.Added short descriptions for each class. Some weapons now have improved first-person animations (BETA).Added Massacre Mode! It’s still in development, but you can already try it out.Memory optimization: RAM usage should now be generally lower and only increase when necessary. Previously, most resources were preloaded at startup, making all loading screens and transitions faster—but as a downside, the game constantly used a lot of RAM, even when it wasn’t needed. Since this change, I’ve noticed minimum peaks of around 400MB of RAM. The only tradeoff is that loading screens will now take a bit longer.ActionsSome actions were modified because they didn’t feel quite right or comfortable before.Dodge: No longer triggered by Shift + V. Now it’s performed only while sprinting and then pressing CTRL. (You can remap the CTRL key to whatever you like in the Controls section.)New Action!: Quick Melee. This one’s inspired by L4D—some players mentioned that when surrounded by insects, shooting doesn’t always feel like a good opti...

    Levels and customization return

Hello everyone! In this small update, levels, portraits, and the name change are returning. Pretty small for the size of the update, right? Well, there's more coming, Massive bro. A rework for one of the levels in the game mode Classic is coming soon. And a new map for Classic mode. An issue was also fixed on the Lunari Center map. When starting a new wave, players would arrive from orbit when reviving. The problem is that the stage is closed, so the player would be left out of the map. This no longer happens. Killstreaks have been disabled on the Lunari Center map, since it is closed and no Killstreaks enter the map. A small cinematic has been added to the Classic map. This adds a precedent to Pixel Troopers levels, making them more immersive and more engaging.

Balance Patch/Fixes and Preparations for Pixel Troopers Reloaded

It's been a while since the last update. And in fact, I thought I'd already updated the game. From what I saw, I left it in a stagnant version. So this quick update fixes the bugs from the previous one and adds some quality of life. Corrections:The Multiplayer section has been removed when entering Single Player. This option is no longer consistent with how you access this menu. It used to make more sense with the previous menu design, which intuitively led you to always navigate to this location. Now, with the current design, it makes no sense or purpose. Customize Pixel Trooper:In the latest update, the option to change your Pixel Trooper's color was broken. Now you can go in and change your Pixel Trooper's color. The Load Screen option is still not working, but it will likely be available in the Pixel Troopers Reloaded update.Replay:Ever since Pixel Troopers came out, the Record Replays and Replay playback options didn't work. I always found it strange. Well, I can use it from the engine. I thought I did the integration wrong, but it turns out I had to fix a setting that's now deprecated. The result? Replays will now work correctly for the end user.In case you were curious, the structure of a replay is as follows:Replay_day-month-year_Hour-Minute-SecondSearch Game:Fixed a bug where entering and exiting this option would cause the menu to no longer work.Lobby:The extra settings button that had no function has been removed. This is what I meant when I said I thought I'd already uploaded the update, since I fixed this a long time ago, and based on what I saw in the final game, this element was still there. It seems I never published the update that fixed this bug.Launch Animation:In case you didn't know, you can dash by pressing Shift + V. And while I'm still not convinced by the dash animation, it makes more sense now than before.Especially when you jump and shoot in some direction.Deathmatch & Team Deathmatch:Modified the Loadout selection layout for these game mo...

Fixed a bug that prevented breaking the entrance door despite the feature being added. Increased core health on the Classic map from 10,000 to 40,000. Changed the Classic map to start directly from the helicopter with the E key, making it more inmersive to enter. Added three new music tracks for the Pixel Troopers gameplay.
