Imagine constructing thriving metropolises beneath the waves in Oceanopolis 2000. Step into the role of a visionary architect and engineer, shaping the future of oceanic life through strategic planning and innovative design.
About this game
Welcome to Oceanopolis 2000, an under-sea city-builder inspired by bright futures, smooth curves, and the idea that the year 2000 is a distant horizon full of promise.
Build a thriving aquatic metropolis where glowing towers drift like bubbles, dolphins swim past you apartment, and technology feels friendly and optimistic. Oceanopolis 2000 keeps things simple and welcoming city-building that’s easy to pick up and relaxing to play.
Balance your resources and keep your citizens happy to raise your population. Fund your efforts by extracting rent or investing in industry. Keep your city clean and your citizens healthy, or dump pollution into the sea around you. it is your choice.
Oceanopolis 2000 is currently in Early Access, and features are still being added.
Build 0.05 (the latest build) re-balanced how mood effects your citizens immigration rate, as well as expanding the environmental systems so the player can better handle pollution.
Current State:
Oceanopolis 2000 is already a fully functional city-builder, and is mostly feature complete.
A suite of buildings are at your disposal to control resources, pollution, mood, and population.
The player can extract rent from citizens and make money through special economic buildings.
There is a functioning save and load system.
As of build 0.04, sickness can overtake your population, or be guarded against by constructing hospitals.
Planned Future Features:
Every update will feature new buildings to flesh out the categories and give the player more choices on the make up of their city.
Crime, punishment, and safety measures will be added to your city. No one wants to live in a dangerous city, and it will be your job to keep the streets, or tubes, safe.
Disasters will eventually be added in the spirit of the old Sim City. Sinking ships, asteroids, and maybe even earth quakes will threaten your citizens.

Crime and Punishment - Extended
To pull back the curtain a bit, there are always two phases for me adding in a new mechanic in this game. The first phase is the one where I make the background systems of the mechanic work. That was the last update. The second phase is where I actually make some content with the mechanic. That's now. Crime and Punishment - Extended brings in a wider array of security buildings as well as balancing some crime scores for older, existing buildings. This update comes with: -The Security HQ: A great place for your agents to get some burnt coffee and stale donuts. -The High Security Prison: A secure dumping ground for anyone who isn't meeting their rent payments. -The Privatized Courthouse: A good place to ratify the iffy arrests of all those trouble-makers. Along with the new content, we have some QOL updates: -The game now contains a real pause button (not just the ESC key) -Time Dilation is now controlled by in-game buttons instead of just hotkeys. -There is now a controller for Volume for those of you who don't want to be deafened by the soothing sounds of the ocean. Anyway, thanks for reading and thanks for playing. Go lock up some criminals, or, you know, whoever.Read full article on Community Announcements (Jackdaw)Patch NotesOfficial
