Action, Free To Play · 2025 · More free games
In Exploding Judo Federation, tech the grab or face certain death as you battle through fast-paced 3D fights where judo meets deadly traps.
About this game
Tech the grab or die trying!
From the creator of Schwarzerblitz and Motionsickness, here comes a new, fast paced, explosive, 1v1 fighting game, where every grab is lethal. Roll around, wait for an opening and smash your opponent on the tarmac (explosions might ensue)!
It's judo until it isn't
Grabs are the way, but this doesn't mean one cannot fight dirty! Each character has a super move at their disposal, be it an invincible grab, a counter attack or a full screen pew pew laser, that immediately seals the match.
Strive for victory
Use strikes to create grab opportunities, roll around the stage to position yourself, grab at the right moment to seal the deal. No block, no rest, only movement, fundamentals and a generous amount of dirt. Do you have what it takes to become the master of Exploding Judo?
All of this with the help of...
full 3D movement with the help of a Roll button. This is a five buttons game (punch, kick, grab, dash, roll) with emphasis on dodging and grabbing
13 standard characters plus 3 unlockable boss characters and an annoying gun-headed goon that cannot beat the champ even if he tries his best (well, unless he gets really, REALLY lucky with a random grab)
arcade mode, survival mode and time attack mode
ten stages plus the classic grid (duh) and an extra green screen stage for photobashing shenanigans
local versus (online modes unfortunately not planned)
tutorial and training mode
a psychopathic dabbing killer robot reinstalled into a bunny droid body (which is actually canon)
a giant kaiju robot with plasma chainsaws and a full screen laser (which is ALSO canon, if you care about this sort of stuff)
the one and only Callowman from Duels of Fortune as a special playable guest character!
and also Dana Zane from the visual novel VA-11 Hall-A, ready to mix drinks and smash lives!

Steam Deck compatibility: 100% (albeit not Valve-verified yet)!
Since Valve hasn't reviewed ExploJudo yet, I'll happily report that the game is 100% Steam Deck and Ubuntu compatible out of the box, exactly like Schwarzerblitz. There are no known Steam Deck/Linux bugs except a shader issue that has happened to a very limited number of players and whose solution is detailed here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/3806150/discussions/0/845114412531600960/ So, get ready to explode people on Steam Deck too and let me know how it goes!!!Read full article on Community Announcements (Andrea Jens)Patch NotesOfficial
Lunatic Eyes Update?!
> What's up, meatbags? It's me again, I.N.A.B.A.! You should come back to the game now that I have a new cute outfit.> It's totally absolutely not inspired by one of my namesakes, OH NO!> You know what I.N.A.B.A. stands for, and that's NOT that, but apparently there is another Moon rabbit that likes PEW PEW FINGER GUNS, one with lunatic eyes - as far as I was told.> So, enjoy the update, meatsacks, and cheer for me over Nanami (who sucks and is not my oilmate!), otherwise I will \Read full article on Community Announcements (Andrea Jens)Patch NotesOfficial
THE METAL SHOCKER UPDATE!
I hope you enjoyed the Dana update so far! While preparing new content, I've decided to push already something to the main branch to ease your cravings! So, here's two new shiny playthings for you:Shocker the Electric lobster has received a new costume with 3 colors - the reborn METAL SHOCKER!There is also a new unlockable stage, Sunken Nightmares, with a new song, Phantom Paradise! The song has also been added to the existing soundtrack DLC at no additional cost. In the meanwhile, Shocker also received a slight fix to his animations to remove some of his legacy stiffness - you can check his older self by using the built-in version select!I am planning to roll out more costumes in the coming months, so that every character gets at least 3 of them.Until the next update!Read full article on Community Announcements (Andrea Jens)Patch NotesOfficial
[BUG FIX] Achievement "Exploding Judo Enthusiast" not triggering properly

[Bug Fix] Fixed unintended hitbox interactions in Apple's and Dana's movesets
Apple's 5K 2K string (Bachata -> Ragtime) had an issue where the hitbox of 2K would disappear prematurely, thus preventing the move from hitting at all and making his moveset tutorial impossible to clear. This has been fixed. Dana's 2P 2K 2P string had more frame advantage than actually shown, allowing for a 2P link that wasn't intended. 2P 2K 2P is now +5 on hit as advertised by the frame viewer.Read full article on Community Announcements (Andrea Jens)
