Navigate the ever-changing 32nd floor of an office building as you outsmart a relentless AI in this indie adventure. Trapped and facing constant challenges, every move could be your last.

About this game

Zangyou is a first-person psychological horror game built around tense exploration, environmental puzzles, and surviving a building that does not want to let you leave.

Escape a living office tower.

You wake up alone on Floor 32 of a deserted Tokyo skyscraper. The exits are sealed. The elevators are dead. Every light, lock, and corridor is controlled by MirAI, the building's hostile central intelligence.

To reach the street, you'll search abandoned offices, restore power, unlock sealed routes, and solve environmental puzzles while the tower turns against you. Corridors shift. Machines patrol the halls. Every unlocked route feels temporary. Every safe space can become a trap.

Some spaces don't belong in the building at all. Step through the wrong gap and the office falls away, replaced by concrete, fluorescent hum, and the feeling that you've dropped outside the architecture entirely.

What to expect:

  • Escape focused horror inside a hostile Tokyo skyscraper

  • Environmental puzzles tied to locks, power systems, and sealed routes

  • Patrol threats and escalating danger as MirAI tightens its grip on the building

  • Spaces that shouldn't exist. Step wrong and the building stops making sense

  • A compact, tense horror experience built around pressure and survival

4,000 new wishlists, and a small direction update

Zangyou has passed 4,000 new wishlists! That’s a lot more people suddenly watching this strange office building, so first: thank you. I’m a solo developer, and seeing that many people find the game this quickly has pushed me to make the Steam page, demo plans, and final direction clearer. I want Zangyou to be a compact, focused horror game about escaping a hostile Tokyo office tower. The core of the game is still the same: you wake up high above the city, the building starts working against you, MirAI controls the lights, locks, elevators, and routes, and the deeper you go, the less the building behaves like a real place. There will also be spaces that don’t quite belong there. Places that feel like they’ve slipped out of the building entirely. I’m also planning to remove the Early Access label. The reason is simple: Zangyou makes more sense as a complete first release than as a long Early Access project. Early Access usually works best when a game is built around regular public builds, big content drops, and long-term community balancing. Zangyou is more story and atmosphere driven, and I don’t want players’ first experience to be a half-shaped version of the escape. Right now I’m working on: making the building feel more reactive and hostileimproving the threat from MirAI and the patrol systemstightening puzzles, locked routes, and floor progressionpolishing the Steam page so the game is clearer at a glanceWith that said, the demo is still coming. I’ll share more as soon as I can. Thanks again for wishlisting and following Zangyou.

DevLog 01 – Thank You + Welcome to Floor 32

Thank you to everyone who’s taken an interest in Zangyou – Backrooms. We’re a very small, brand new studio based in Tokyo with a deep love for crafting moody, atmospheric experiences through games. This is our first project, and seeing even a few of you checking out the trailer, wishlisting, or joining our Discord means the world to us. Zangyou begins in a quiet, empty office tower — but it’s just the beginning. We’re excited to share more devlogs and feature updates as the game continues to evolve. We hope you’ll stick around and get lost with us inside Shibuya’s Floor 32.
