About this game
Hack yourself, hack your friends, hack your enemies and hack EVERYTHING in this twin-stick, action immersive-sim. Use OVERPOWERED hacks that no other game would let you use to overcome intelligent enemies in a plagued simulation.
You (and your potential friends?) will need to use game-breaking hacks in order to beat twelve-y/o mastermind Exo at his own game. Just, try not to kill your teammates too much.
Unique Hacking System!
Hacking is done through typing different binary codes in a command console. Hacks can be:
as USEFUL as turning a target invisible,
as DEADLY as firing all of a target's ammo at once,
or as GAME-BREAKING as taking complete control over a target! (Don't throw your teammates off cliffs).
Hacks can be as useful on yourself as an enemy, some of them riskier than others!
All hacks are blocked only by your knowledge of the codes, your reflexes to use them during combat, and your creativity to decide which hacks to use and on who. (You can hack anything!)
Intelligent Oppressors!
Your enemies, the Bugbots, will be as numerous as they are capable. Your enemies have access to all of the same tools you do, but with hacking they become tools themselves.
Other enemy factions will also impede your escape, making for full-scale battles across varied battlegrounds.
Yes, I said 'Immersive-Sim'
That means escape the Exosystem your way!
Maybe you'll pick your favorite character and focus on playing to their unique strengths
Maybe you'll sneak by enemies, using teleportation and invisibility to your benefit
Maybe you'll make an army of allies and clones to defeat every problem with numbers
Maybe you'll pit enemies against each other, without ever being seen yourself
Maybe you'll use the environment and physics to defeat targets or parkour past them
Maybe you'll speedrun through the entire game using hacks which make you faster
Maybe you'll spend hours and hours discovering all the hacks, finding the perfect hack in every situation...

Exosystem Content Plan
Hey guys! Chuck again. Just wanted to let y'all know that I'm changing how I make updates for Exosystem, and how I'll progress with making new content for the game. TL:DR - I'll be working on a rough draft of the whole game - playable beginning to end. If you decided to stick around - Ima go into detail because I love yapping about my video game ːPEAKactuallyːBasically, from now on I'll be dedicated to working on the actual LEVELS of Exosystem. There will be 6 levels in Exosystem, which ik doesn't sound like a lot but each one will be around ~30 mins to an hour, non-linear, multiple endings and routes, with the later levels being open sandboxes. This means that Exosystem will be fully playable, from beginning to end, just without a tutorial. The tutorial is on the back-burner for now by the way. I couldn't get the tutorial just how I wanted it, and I figured it would be a better idea to do the tutorial after the game is fully playable anyway. So - if you don't know how to PLAY Exosystem, try the existing tutorials and then contact me if you need help with the basics. These levels will assume you know them. Also - your feedback is ESSENTIAL for this. You might not know this, but game developers actually have no idea how fun their game actually is. The only ways I get an inkling of how fun it is is if I add something that makes me laugh (such as a stupid hack or gun), or if I visibly see a playtester enjoy it. So... yeah. Your feedback will also help me clarify unclear mechanics, balance the difficulty, tweak the enemy AI, make parts of the game more fun, and literally help me make a better game. HELP ME!!!Lastly, the time frame for this. My plan is to work on a level every week. These levels will not be finished. They will be "playable", and they will have choppy level design with no animations or cutscenes. My plan is to figure out what I want for the gameplay before I work on story, art, tone, music, UX. So in total - I hope to have every level finished at the end o...Read full article on Community Announcements (Carlo)AnnouncementsOfficial
0.2.3 - Waiting Room Tutorial
Exosystem Update 0.2.3 is here!Well actually, it was here 2 weeks ago. But I forgot to make an update page for it lol.Anyway, this update is technically way smaller than it's supposed to be - I wrote some junk code to finish it late at night (as usual) and so the first level is disabled. So you can learn how to play a part of Exosystem - and then that's it. My bad. If this gets 2 likes, I will make 0.2.3.1 by the end of the week and make level 1 playable again (even though it's unc now). This update also includes:A revamped tutorialDialogueNew hacks (Rewire, Swap, and character changing hacks)Plural hacks, which affect two targetsA new* character - HazmatA energy wiring systemClimbing and crawlingNew weaponsRevamped Player AI (should be slightly less stupid)AI Pinging system for handing out commands (and later, for multiplayer)prob other stuff I forget0.2.4 is up next - and it's going to be more work on the tutorial. I'll finish the month with 0.3, which'll be the full tutorial, with multiple win methods and the other two playable characters. See you in a week I guess!*Hazmat was a playable character back in Lightspeed 2022. She's going to be an important story character with Exosystem.Read full article on Community Announcements (Carlo)Patch NotesOfficial
