Dev Blog - July 2026
Hello, Realmwalkers! We hope you've had a great July! This month we jumped into what has become a Galactic Bicycle tradition: the GMTK Game Jam. We were also hoping to share news about another game jam, but more on that as we dive into this month's update. So grab a snack, get comfortable, and catch up on another month in the development journey of Wilds of the Realmwalker. Quick RecapGMTK Game Jam 2026 A New Perspective The Camera that almost changed everything GMTK Game Jam 2026Every year Game Maker's Toolkit hosts one of our favorite game jams, and we've been involved in one way or another since the very first event. As a studio, this marks our third year making it part of our annual tradition. Every year brings a new theme, different challenges, and different circumstances. Depending on where we are in development, we have more or less time to dedicate to the jam, but one thing always stays the same: it's an opportunity to stretch our creative muscles, experiment with new ideas, and collaborate with talented developers. This year was no different. We partnered with HOME GHOST, a fantastic two-person team that helped us bring our jam game to life. Thanks to their incredible work—and a lot of heavy lifting—we were able to finish and submit our game on time. We also streamed development throughout the week, and Griffin became very invested in the project. The team delivered fantastic audio, art, 3D models, and plenty of creative ideas while keeping the project intentionally small and achievable for a one-week jam. Huge thanks to everyone who played the game, and an even bigger thank you to HOME GHOST for helping carry us across the finish line. If you'd like to check it out, our game is called Rocket Codes! Rocket Codes by DigitalTaco, HomeGhost, Christopher Tutor, Wilds of the Realmwalker The Camera that almost changed everythingOne of the most interesting things to come out of the game jam wasn't actually the jam game itself. It was a prototype. Since the earlies...Read full article on Community Announcements (galacticbicyclestudio)Patch NotesOfficial
