Uncover Sabotage, Conspiracy and Counter-Revolution in this cyberpunk detective mystery. Using a mind-probing interface, you explore and act within memories, collect facts, meet agents of change and enormous corporations. Build your case against a person torn between idealism and turmoil.
Explore a cyberpunk world as you uncover truths within minds and build your case against an idealist torn between revolution and reality. Use a mind-probing interface to interact with memories, agents, and corporations in "a permanent echo."
About this game
The year is 2062 - a heinous act of terrorism has sabotaged Europe's leading geoengineering project. A presumed perpetrator is in custody - a high ranking female member of the Akonia Corporation.
You are the lead Investigator. As a certified Mind Probing Operator, your task is to find out what really happened, who the co-conspirators are, and why anyone would put all of northern Europe into crisis.
Mind Probing
Use state of the art technology to recover the memory of the accused, explore her past and motive, and find leads to other, presumably high ranking actors of change in a web of corporate and political intrigue. Extract Facts and explore her Mind Palace to understand and find truth.
a permanent echo is a game of investigation and deduction. About piecing together how we will remember - and judge - the decisions that shape our future.
A world in peril
Near future Europe is transformed. Facing climate disaster while restructuring society to withstand the enormous pressures that act upon our changing planet.
The First Generation reformed the political and economic system during the Great Reforms of the 2030s. The states and their people align to push back against ever more frequent environmental hazards. Enormous geoengineering projects are started to meet these challenges head on.
It is only after one of the projects - tectonic station one - fails spectacularly, that the faultlines of old feuds and deepened ideological differences open up again.
Features and Gameplay
Against this backdrop, you are tasked with probing the memories of the accused. Your task is to find evidence of a larger conspiracy using the newly introduced practice of Abyssal Mind Probing - a medical procedure in which you reconstruct memories, thoughts and motivations directly from the mind of the subject.
It is on you to identify co-conspirators and other agents of change that could put Europe's hope of reversing its hazardous environmental conditions - and its future as a free and prospering society - in jeopardy.
As the Investigator, you will:
explore the memories and thoughts of the accused using Mind Probing.
uncover and interact with 3D reconstructions of key points in their life in first- and third-person views.
collect information as fact-cards and relate them to the characters and situations you encounter.
use the facts at key locations to dive ever deeper into even more memories.
learn more about near future Europe and its transformation during the Great Reforms and dive deep into world of Neo Baltica and the factions and institutions that shape our planet's future.
Memory is Context, Context is Memory
While exploring the memories and thoughts of the suspect, you piece together not just their motivation to shape society, but also a life in service of an ideal. Your investigation uncovers and reveals facts and hopes - but your decisions also shape and change a public memory.
What will be remembered as our future history?
How much can you trust another's memories? And how much can you shape them to serve your purpose, and the purpose of the institutions that employ you?

Enter the new version of the Factboard:it's a different color! It's also much easier to n...Read full article on Community Announcements (Three More Years)
