About this game

ZENVADER is a bullet-hell roguelite shooter inspired by classic shooting games in the 80s.

You pilot a “Battle Unit”, the last hope for mankind, and take on an army of powerful aliens.

Four Battle Units

There are four types of battle units that you can pilot: a unit that excels in rapid fire, a unit that excels in penetrating ability and destructive power, a unit that fights using indirect means such as wall shot and missiles, and so on. Each unit has its own characteristics and requires different strategies.

Take Orbs to Power Up

Your unit is weak at first, but by taking orbs dropped by the aliens, you can temporarily enhance its rapid-firing speed, movement speed, damage dealt, and so on.

Unlock New Weapons at Space Hangar

By spending “Alien Materia” acquired by defeating aliens, you can unlock new weapons and permanently increase various parameters. The more you fight, the stronger you become, and eventually you will be able to defeat the foes that you thought you could never defeat.

Challenge yourself to Speedrun

Once your units are fully upgraded, try beating the campaign mode as fast as possible. While the typical clear time is around 20-25 minutes, optimizing your movements and refining your tactics can make clearing it under 15 minutes is not entirely impossible. So, how fast can you get?

    Version 1.51

You can now toggle whether to use weapons you've already purchased (such as missiles and charge weapons) at any time in Space Hangar. You can enable/disable the weapon by pressing X button or SPACE bar.For example, if you disable the FIGHTER’s Charge Wave, cards that increase charge speed will no longer appear, making it more efficient to enhance other abilities (such as shot rate and damage). Naturally, this makes you more vulnerable to enemy fire, but if you’re confident in your dodging skills, deliberately trying this setup can sometimes help you clear stages faster. Previously, changing your settings required resetting your upgrades, but with this update, you can now freely change your settings without any reset cost.

Version 1.5 - New Modes Added!

It has been six months since the release of ZENVADER, and while I have continued to make minor adjustments during that time, this is the biggest update so far! Once you clear the standard campaign with any single unit, you’ll unlock an extremely high-difficulty campaign mode. Boss patterns and alien formations are revamped, and the bullet hell is even more intense. The difficulty is so challenging that even veteran players with fully upgraded units will find it tough to clear, so please give it a try. I have significantly revised the difficulty curve for ZEN Mode and added a mechanic where the number of aliens increases with each wave. As a result, Wave 30 is now quite challenging, and Waves 40-45 will probably be the limit for most players. If you think you’re up to the task, please take on the challenge of reaching Wave 50, which I consider the “Realm of the Gods.”*Important NoteWhen you launch Version 1.5 and press “START” on the title screen to open the mode selection screen, your existing ZEN Mode records will be reset. I apologize to those who have been challenging these records with the previous settings, but I hope you will understand that this is part of the efforts to improve the experience.Other Changes・You can now defeat the Caster by landing 5 Bind Grenades.・The debuff effect of Bind Grenades has been strengthened: the first hit only blocks projectiles, the second increases your projectile damage by 1.5x, the third by 2x, and the fourth by 2.5x. The damage multiplier now increases by 0.5 for each additional hit.・Bind Grenades can now clear bullets currently on the screen. This allows for tactics such as exploding a grenade right in front of you to escape a situation when your ship is surrounded by bullets.・When a Bind Grenade hits a boss, the boss’s movement speed and bullet speed are now reduced to one-third.・The concentration penalty for missing a shot while the NINJA is equipped with “Ninja’s Grace” has been reduced from “-2” to “-1”.・Several other b...
