About this game

ROADMAP

You’ve just arrived in town. The soft spring air lifts the cherry blossoms around you, and for the first time in a long while, you feel you’re fighting for something honorable.
As you step inside your temple, it’s time to train and prepare for what lies ahead.

Samurai’s Path is an experimental game that evolves alongside its community. Your journey begins with the following:

Train with Mini-Games

Every few hours, you’ll receive new missions. Embark on small training challenges and earn a Katana Box for each successful completion.

Grow Your Katana Collection

Discover Katanas inside boxes and expand your collection: from Common and Rare to Epic and Legendary blades.
All Katanas can be traded and collected through the Steam Market.

First set of Seasonal Katanas

Four honoring Amaterasu, and four dedicated to Susanoo, will not be dropping after the season two releases. Only available as drop in Limited Boxes

Amaterasu and Susanoo

In the ancient tales, Amaterasu, the radiant goddess of the sun, embodies honor, clarity, and creation, her light guiding every true samurai’s path. Susanoo, her tempestuous brother, commands storms and chaos, testing the strength of all who seek mastery. Their eternal balance between order and fury shapes the soul of every blade forged in Samurai’s Path, whether it shines with divine grace or strikes with untamed power.

Special Katana Boxes

Vanilla Box

The original boxes of Samurai’s Path. Contain Katanas following standard drop rates.

Common Katana 70%
Rare Katana 27%
Epic Katana 3%

Limited Box
Available only during the first weeks after launch. This limited-edition box offers a higher chance of Epic Katanas and a slight chance to obtain one of the eight Legendary.

Common Katana 27%
Rare Katana 60%
Epic Katana 10%
Legendary Katana (Amaterasu or Susanoo collection) 3%

Forge More Katanas

Combine three Katanas to forge a new Katana Box. Using rarer Katanas increases your odds of receiving a Limited Box.

Limited Box:
+5% for each common Katana used
+10% for each rare Katana used

Vanilla Box:
The remaining percentage is related to this box.
Example: Forging by using tone common katana (+5%) and two rare katanas (+10% X2). Total rate: 75% Vanilla Box and 25% Limited Box

Letter System

From time to time, you’ll receive letters from your family or townsfolk.
These messages reveal hints of future content and allow you to accumulate wealth and resources for the next stage in the evolution of the game.

Founder’s Quest

Available only until the next major update, the Founder’s Quest rewards Seals for each completed mission.
Obtain the Expanded Book to unlock access to a unique Legendary Katana that hides true power (which will never drop again in the game) and gain exclusive perks.

What’s Next

Samurai’s Path will continue to evolve with the guidance of its community.
Here’s a glimpse of what’s coming in Season 2:

  • New Legendary Katanas

  • A revamped Letter System featuring hidden easter eggs that unlock limited-edition Legendary blades.

  • The Merchant: Buy Katanas that refresh daily and sell your own for fluctuating coin values.

  • The Gambling House: Test your luck in games of cards, dice, and bluffing while waiting for your next mission.

These updates mark the next step in the evolution of Samurai’s Path, introducing character progression and customization that will shape your destiny as a true warrior.

    Patch 1.4 - Meet Haya

A merchant has set up shop on the new World Map. Here's everything in this update. Haya's Shop Katana of the Day:Haya picks one blade each morning and puts it on display. You can buy it once per day. Tomorrow she'll have something different. Request of the Day: Haya asks for a specific type of katana each day. Fulfill her request and you'll earn more than you would by selling directly. You can complete the same request a few times a day, then it resets the next morning. Direct Sell: Quick coin for your katanas. Pays less than the daily request, but you can now multi-select katanas to sell them all at once. Coin Exchanges: Trade up between Copper, Silver, Gold, and Platinum coins. One direction only, up, never down. Interactive Tutorial: Haya walks you through everything herself, with confirmation dialogs along the way so you don't accidentally sell your favorite blade. New Features World Map connecting the Forge and the Shop. Guaranteed Epic or higher drop when you open 20 chests. Stats page added to the Options menu. Resolution and FPS settings, window is now resizable. Changes Updated the DLC icon. The Steam inventory update warning now tells you exactly what change it's expecting (chest opening, mission drop, etc.). Chest inventory is now hidden when you have no chests available. Bug Fixes Credits now show all names properly. Fixed the Susanoo and Eight Immortals achievements. Stormcutter and Dawnveil can now be viewed in the in-game inventory (they were showing up in Steam but not in-game). Forge fixes: Forges sometimes didn't complete, now limited correctly while Steam processes transactions. Fixed a bug where putting a katana in a forge slot would lock the player in forging mode. Quitting a mission right after starting it now properly removes it. Performance Default FPS is now 60, with 120 and 144 selectable in settings. Texture optimization reduced runtime VRAM from over 1GB to around 300MB. Known Issue The Forge can still occasionally fail to produce a resul...

    future updates for Samurai's Path

Hello Samurai,I’m Gon, the lead developer of Samurai’s Path. Starting today, after the team has spent time refining the game and fixing bugs, we would like to stay in closer contact with you by sharing a more in-depth look at how the game continues to evolve. As Sid Meier once said, “Games are a series of interesting choices”, and that idea sits at the core of our design philosophy. We want you to be active protagonists in shaping how this game develops in the near future.Opening loot always delivers a small dopamine hit. That sense of curiosity when you pull something new is one of the pillars of this first iteration, acting as a brief decompression moment. When we designed this system, we divided its scope into four main parts.FIRSTYour temple is your home. It is your space for calm and meditation. Even the moment when you bring the minimized game up, listen to the music, and watch the garden is meant to be part of the experience.SECONDThe element of surprise comes from checking in from time to time to see whether a quest has appeared, since they drop randomly every few minutes or hours, or whether a letter has arrived from someone you know. These moments offer small glimpses into your story and the world around you.THIRDWorking for rewards is another important pillar. While Samurai’s Path is not meant to be a grind fest, doing something meaningful to earn a reward creates a stronger sense of commitment and excitement. This is why we introduced small minigames, which will continue to be updated with every major patch.FOURTHFinally, there is the sense of discovery and mystery. The game will keep evolving and improving, giving you greater control over your collection and your personal economy. Along the way, you will face decisions that can significantly change how you play, and sometimes, you will be able to find our hidden easter eggs, which will reward you greatly. You are the founders of this game experience. You are getting ahead by starting to collect Katanas an...
