Navigate through deadly cyber corridors as your ghost in ROOTKIT://死, a 2026 action-adventure game from Phiality and BREAKDEATH Games. Race against the system with bhop movements, dodging enemies based on speed alone.

About this game

The system caught you mid-intrusion. PMC contractors are sweeping your memory address. The corridors are collapsing behind you.

You're faster than all of it.

ROOTKIT://死 is a cyberpunk extraction runner on Quake's air acceleration model. Speed is your armor

Every level is a gauntlet. Get from the start to the extraction point. Kill what's in the way or outrun it. Your best run records a ghost that races you on your next attempt.

You are...

You are a rootkit named << 死 >> (Death). You broke into the system and the system noticed. Now every process it owns is trying to kill yours. Armed contractors are patrolling the memory blocks. The corridors rearrange to box you in. Firewalls slam shut behind you. You run. You shoot what gets in the way. You extract before the system wipes the address you're standing on. And you most importantly consume every byte of data

  • Bhop, air strafe, crouch-slide, crouch-bhop at 100-tick physics. Hit a ramp right and you can multiply your speed tenfold.

  • Enemy accuracy degrades on a curve from your velocity. They call it out on comms as it happens.

  • Every run records a ghost. Race it on your next attempt. Watch any run back in first person with full bullet tracers.

  • Reactive skybox tracks kills, shots fired, and ghost position live. Music intensity driven by a heat system.

    ROOTKIT://死 - SECTOR 0 - DEMO OUT NOW

The demo is live NOW. ROOTKIT://死 - Sector 0 is free to play NOW! **Scoring hud was disabled in this trailer WHAT IT IS It's a first-person extraction runner. You spawn in a hostile sector with kill teams already closing in, and you reach extraction before the system locks you out. No sprint button, no dash, your speed comes from how well you handle the movement. It runs on the same air-acceleration model that made bunny hopping a thing in Quake. The catch: your speed is your difficulty. Move slow and every shot connects. Move fast and they're shooting where you were two frames ago, but you're also blowing past every weapon and medkit on the floor. The whole game is routing around that. Below 200 u/s - aim is perfect. Every round connects. This is what happens when you stop, land flat, or eat a wall. 200–450 - enemies track you but lead shots and miss around corners. This is where you can fight. Above 500 - shots start going wide. At 600, nothing connects, but you're also blowing past every weapon, medkit and ammo drop on the floor. Sector 0 is one block. About 20 minutes if you fight everything, under two if you learn the route. It's the first of six sectors. First block of many more... In the demo: Full bhop movement - no speed cap Ghost replays - every run records, race yourself OR others, you can also rewatch replays from the first person Reactive skybox and radio chatter that shift as the fight turns Steam Deck support Sector 0 - Block 0 - Address 0x00-0x03 Combinator Combo system WHAT'S NEXT I'm building this solo, and Sector 0 is the start of it.
