Army System Complete
Hello everyone,I wanted to share the same big news here that I've shared with our Discord communities — the Army system is done, polished, and fully functional as of July 31.This was the last major mechanic I needed to finish before Early Access. Getting it working end-to-end feels like a real weight off my shoulders. What it does: → Train four troop types (Sword, Spear, Range, Hero) — each with its own cost, duration, and power → Pick from a rotating mission list (Easy, Medium, Hard) with distinct enemy power, success chance, and expected loot → Send composed troop groups on missions, take losses, return with scrolls, coin, and gold → Sometimes your army grows in the field instead of shrinkingScreenshots below: mission select, troop training, and army returns. The Steam Early Access will arrive later this year with a more polished version. Wishlisting on Steam remains the most useful thing you can do to help the project — it directly affects launch visibility.Endless thanks to everyone following along.— ValRead full article on Community Announcements (kinkylemurgames)Patch NotesOfficial
Harem of Valerius — Final Demo Update
Hello everyone,I wanted to share the same good news here that I've shared with our Discord communities. Because we've now completed nearly all of the game's core mechanics, I decided to streamline the demo. This way the demo can clearly show what the game promises. Everything else waits for you in Early Access. This dream coming true genuinely makes me happy. The Steam Early Access will arrive later this year with a more polished version.Wishlisting on Steam is the biggest support you can give to the Early Access launch — it helps us keep you informed and gives us better visibility in the Steam algorithm.Endless thanks to everyone who has been here and walked this journey with us.With love, ValRead full article on Community Announcements (kinkylemurgames)AnnouncementsOfficial
Episode 4 Environment Complete — First Look Inside the Egyptian Arc
Major milestone: the Episode 4 environment is complete. The Egyptian arc is now walkable from start to finish — the Nile dock, the mudbrick city plaza, the temple district, and every path between them. Weeks of work on architecture, lighting, and set dressing are behind us.The mood target for this level was a warm-lit Egyptian coastal city at midday — dusty stone, palm shadows, obelisks in the distance, Nile water catching the sky. The screenshots above are the first look at how it turned out in-engine.What's still to come before Episode 4 is fully complete: a handful of cutscenes and one small new gameplay mechanic. Both are actively in development.Paid Early Access launches Friday, August 14, on itch.io. Steam Early Access is planned for later this year and will be the more polished long-term home for Harem of Valerius. If there is one thing that helps the project the most right now, it's your Steam wishlist. Every wishlist directly affects the visibility of the Steam Early Access launch when it drops. If you're following along and haven't wishlisted yet, that is the single highest-leverage thing you can do.More screenshots and updates coming across the next few weeks.— ValeriusRead full article on Community Announcements (kinkylemurgames)AnnouncementsOfficial
Early Access Launches August 14 — itch.io First, Steam Later in 2026
Hello everyone,A major milestone for Harem of Valerius: paid Early Access launches on itch.io on Friday, August 14, 2026. Steam Early Access remains planned for later this year and will be the more polished release. What the August Early Access build includesEpisodes 1–4 fully playable. Episode 4 is the Egypt-themed arc — Shael's rescue mission, new platforming traps, and a new boss encounter. The Army mechanic — assign forces, send them to occupied locations, collect loot. A counterpart to the existing Fleet system.A new Egypt-themed environment with new characters and relationship content.Frozen Rage — a time-slowing ability used in combat and to navigate Egyptian traps. All existing systems and content from the current public demo, refined and balanced. Why itch.io firstitch.io is a more flexible platform for the Early Access phase. It allows faster iteration on community feedback and lets the project mature toward a stronger Steam release. The Steam Early Access build, planned for late 2026, will be more polished — better onboarding, improved UI consistency, refined assets, and likely additional content (Episode 5 is in development for that release). For Steam wishlist holdersThe best thing you can do right now is keep your wishlist active and follow the page — news updates will continue regularly between now and Steam Early Access launch. If you would like to play sooner or follow the Early Access phase directly, the itch.io build will be available August 14 at $7.99 minimum / $12.99 suggested — early supporter pricing that will increase after the next major content drop.Steam Early Access will launch at a stronger quality bar and benefit from everything learned during the itch.io phase. Thanks for following the project. Weekly development updates will continue here on the Steam page.— ValeriusRead full article on Community Announcements (kinkylemurgames)Patch NotesOfficial
Weekly Update ; Better Environment
Honest update from the forge. Here's where things stand.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━🏛️ EPISODE 1 — REBUILT WITH PURPOSE━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━This one was a hard decision to make — but the right one.Harem of Valerius has deep lore. A world with history, characters with reasons to be where they are, secrets woven into every corner. But we weren't delivering that. Not in Episode 1. Players were dropping off early — and honestly, I understood why. The world didn't tell its story.Who is Valerius? Why is he here? What is Theronesia hiding? Those questions weren't being answered. The environment wasn't helping. The pacing wasn't carrying players through. So I went back. This isn't a full rebuild — but it's the first step of a meaningful one. Environmental polish, new cutscenes, expanded dialogue. The goal is simple: give the player enough to care before they're asked to fight for it.What came out of it is noticeably better than what was there before. I'm confident about that.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━📜 PARCHMENT MECHANIC — COMING THIS WEEK━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━As Valerius moves through the world, he'll find notes — scattered parchments that help him make sense of what's happening around him. These aren't cutscene interruptions. They don't stop the action. They're quiet discoveries that slowly pull back the curtain on Theronesia and the secrets behind it.I'm writing this mechanic this week. It's a small addition with a big job.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━🪨 NEW MODELS━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━The Episode 1 rework brought new visual needs with it. A batch of new models has been built and integrated into the engine to support the updated environment. Sparta is filling in.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━🖼️ RELATIONSHIP UI — SMALL BUT MEANINGFUL TOUCH━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━The Relationship UI previously had three separate panels. This week I merged panels one and two into a single hybrid panel — cleaner, more intuitive, and paired with new UI elements that bring it closer to the visual standard the rest of the game is moving toward.I can't wait...Read full article on Community Announcements (kinkylemurgames)
