Over Engineered invites you to design intricate contraptions where every added component adds to your score. Inspired by Rube Goldberg, this casual yet strategic game lets you explore the joy of over-engineering on your screen.

About this game

Over Engineered is simulation strategy game that encourages construction of complex machines.

Using limited space, money, and power; you must build complex contraptions to bring a ball from its spawn, to its goal. The longer each ball takes, the more money you make in return.

Rube Goldberg Puzzles

Play through dozens of Rube Goldberg style puzzles, each carefully crafted to challenge your engineering intuition. With a fixed set of parts, and a locked goal; you must think critically to understand how each component interacts with each other.

With unlimited possibilities, you can create your own puzzles and share them with the world.

Each game begins with a ball dropping from a spawner. The player must place and connect different mechanical parts to guide the ball across the map. As the ball moves, it gains value from tricks, combos, and the time is has remained alive. The player must design their world to maximize these values to unlock more elaborate and sophisticated machines. With increasing ball values, the player will unlock new machines to expand upon their system, allowing the player to push their designs further than ever.

With future machines locked behind time milestones, the player must overcome time barriers to create something original. With 45+ parts, each new advancement propels the players machine further into Over-Engineered chaos

Collisions Originally, collisions became unstable and unpredictable at high speeds. This update implements a new continuous collision detection, which gives more stable and predictable outcomes. This will result in a drop in frames but in return makes contraptions work as expected.
