Embark on a first-person exploration of your missing aunt’s past through a girl’s dream in The Falling Star. This indie, free-to-play walking simulator from Yeariver invites you to unravel the story following your mother's last wish.

About this game

The Falling Star is a short, atmospheric first-person narrative adventure set in a fragmented dreamscape. You play as a young girl, journeying through a surreal memory world shaped by grief, love, and unanswered questions. After your mother’s passing, you follow her final wish—to uncover the truth behind your missing Aunt Jiang, and in doing so, begin to understand the family stories left unspoken.

A Short, Emotional Journey

Designed to be completed in around 20–30 minutes, The Falling Star offers a focused, emotionally resonant experience. Perfect for players who enjoy introspective storytelling and atmospheric exploration.

Explore a Dreamlike World

Wander through beautifully crafted environments that blur the line between memory and imagination. From quiet bedrooms to abandoned factories and the remains of a once-bustling town, each area reflects pieces of the past waiting to be pieced together.

Solve Environmental Puzzles

Uncover clues hidden in the world—handwritten notes, old objects, and family relics. Light puzzle-solving is used to guide your journey and encourage thoughtful exploration.

A Story Told Through Objects

Instead of lengthy cutscenes, the narrative unfolds through environmental storytelling. Examine everyday items and listen to the protagonist’s inner thoughts as she reflects on her family’s history.

A Meditative Soundscape

Accompanied by original gentle music and ambient sound design, the experience invites players to slow down, feel, and remember.

If you appreciate narrative-driven games like What Remains of Edith Finch, Gone Home, or To the Moon, The Falling Star offers a similarly heartfelt tale in a compact and accessible format.

No combat. No time limits. Just you, your memories, and the stars.

Chase the star, while you still can.

🌊 Aelwater Demo Now Live + Steam Next Fest Begins Tomorrow

If you found a quiet moment within The Falling Star, I’d love to share something new with you.My next narrative project, Aelwater, now has a playable demo available on Steam. It’s a short experience (around 15 minutes) that introduces the opening of a much larger story — one centered on memory, water, and what refuses to be forgotten. In the demo, you will:Repair the first memory fragmentExplore the flooded village of AelwaterExperience emotionally driven memory sequencesSolve light, story-integrated glyph puzzlesBegin uncovering the mystery of the RiverkeeperStarting tomorrow, Aelwater will also be featured in Steam Next Fest. While The Falling Star was an intimate, solo exploration of grief and acceptance, Aelwater expands that language into a broader, more interactive world. It continues my interest in atmospheric storytelling — where environment, mechanics, and emotion are inseparable. This demo represents five months of development, and it’s only the beginning. We’ll be refining and expanding it based on player feedback, gradually shaping it toward a full Chapter One experience. If you decide to step into the river, I would truly appreciate:Adding it to your wishlistLeaving a reviewSharing your thoughtsYour support makes it possible for these quiet, reflective stories to continue.Thank you, as always, for being part of this journey. 🌧️
