About this game

Roadmap

About the Game

Step into the role of a detective whose family has been abducted. Re-join your former agency to track the culprit, only to realize the threat is far larger than a missing persons case.

The Astral Plane has begun bleeding into our world. The abductor’s failed experiments have left behind a trail of possessed humans and fanatical cultists. Track their footsteps. Collect evidence. Banish the spirits standing in your way.

No two investigations are the same. Our procedural puzzle generation ensures that puzzles shift, solutions change, and the spirits behave unexpectedly depending on your progress in the game.

Solve or Die features non-linear gameplay that lets you tackle objectives at your own speed and in any direction. Every map you pass grants a unique final clue toward solving the "Great Mystery." How you piece them together is up to you.

  • Maps: There are currently 3 maps available to play, each featuring different story and a case to solve

  • Singleplayer: Enjoy the game on your own, although it might be way harder to solve puzzle while having to watch your back

  • Multiplayer: Invite your friends. Turn the light off. Scream and have fun. Watch each other's backs. Only cooperation will get you through the whole game

As you gather evidence across multiple maps, the line between "good" and "evil" begins to blur. You aren't just hunting a former - you're uncovering his vision. When the final clue is found, the ending isn't written for you. You choose your destiny. Will you banish the Astral Plane, or help it claim our world?

Between investigations, retreat to your detective base. Here, the evil can't reach you. Use this time to study case files, piece together the history of the Astral Plane, and prepare for the next hunt. And if it gets too hard? Throw toilet paper at your co-detectives, grab a drink, or play some mini-games before heading back into the dark.

Developer update #1 - User testing

Hello everyone! Welcome to our first Developer update - coming right before Christmas 2025. This time, we would like to run you through our latest progress: User testingBug fixes Usability improvementsTechnical improvements User testingOur recent focus has been on user testing - giving the game into hands of first players. And it has provided us with invaluable feedback across the whole game. 10 players tried to pass the first map - the Abandoned School. The audience span across different types of players - some that have tried playing horror games before and some that haven't. Overall, the user test has been successful as it identified bugs and potential improvements across the gameplay which we have grasped right away. Bug fixes Detailed testing uncovered tens of bugs but we are slowly working towards fixing them all. Here is a few of them:\ Enemy movements, sounds and secret ability \ Inventory design - Some items weren't displayed correctly in the Inventory. \ Drawing inside notepad - Boundaries and custom cursors \ Collisions \ Ladder (Used for escaping the enemy) functionality Usability improvements After the users were done testing, we identified easy winners that will bring better experience to our players. Some of the notable ones are: \ Puzzle interaction - One of our puzzles didn't have a clear way out for the players. We have changed the logic and next user test didn't show an issue in this area. \ On-screen messages - Our explanatory texts, hints and "errors" were invisible in eyes of players due to low contrast with the background/rest of the game UI. \ Binding system - Players can now adjust keys they use. \ Sounds - Some players have pointed out unclear sounds around the environment. We are currently working on re-visiting those identified sounds and fixing the length and intensity. Technical improvementsBesides tasks from user tests, we continue working on optimizing the game so we bring you smooth experience. In the last few days, we focused on: \ ...

    Roadmap for 2026

We have split our roadmap for 2026 into three big chunks. All while sticking to our vision To bring you unforgettable experience in a horror universe that challenges you with new tasks every time you play. Alone or with your friends. Or even against your friends (That's a sneak-peak so keep reading!)MapsOur vision is for Solve or Die to include multiple maps. Each map is unique and refers to a different story, and has different functionality and in-game puzzles/tasks. And most importantly - each map has different content and puzzles/tasks every time you play it. Therefore, we are limiting the chance of you getting bored in our maps as much as we can. By making each game unique. And by making multiple maps. Multiplying those two factors creates infinite possibilities. Abandoned SchoolOur first map has been just finalized and is currently being tested. While we are iterating on it and fixing bugs our testers are finding, we are working on two new maps.Winter HouseHave you seen The Shining? If yes, then the best reference for this might might be that movie. Imagine you are stuck in a house covered in snow while being chased by evil twins. The design of the house is finalized and we are moving towards creating the gameplay - puzzles, traps and other exciting things. BunkerWill you be able to get out of the maze of an underground bunker with multiple floors, hidden doors, traps and puzzle - all while being chased by a cult member? We are currently finalizing the design of the map. Afterwards, we will move to create the gameplay. FunctionalityCamera system for the BunkerAs we are trying to make each map different, we are adjusting a ton of functionality. Therefore, we came up with a camera system that let's you track the enemy inside the Bunker. Follow their steps, how they move and help yourself finalize the mission and get out of the bunker. But be careful - you don't know if the enemy does not have something more powerful than cameras.Multiplayer - You and your friends...
