About this game
🛡️ RAIDBOUND
A Tactical Viking Auto-Battler with Roguelite Worker Placement
In Raidbound, you lead a clan of fearless Vikings through a mythic gauntlet of combat, sacrifice, and divine favor. This is no idle expedition—each decision shapes the fate of your warband.
Recruit your warriors from the Tavern, train them in the ways of battle, and prepare them for war. Infuse them with ancient runes, forge legendary weapons, or sacrifice them to strengthen the clan. Once your energy for the year is spent, you must Raid—battling another player’s clan in asynchronous auto-combat.
Between battles, travel across a living map of strategic Nodes. Each offers a different boon—or risk. The road to glory is yours to choose.
⚔️ Vikings & Combat
Each Viking joins your clan with a unique ability and one of four roles:
Raider, Warden, Berserker, or Skirmisher.
Roles create synergies—like Wardens granting bonus armor when grouped. You can equip up to 4 abilities per Viking, unlocked by infusing them with Runes.
Combat is fully automated, but strategic: Vikings attack based on speed, targeting (frontline, backline, or random), and ability loadout.Lose a Raid, and you lose a life. When you’re out—your run ends.
🧠 HERO PASSIVES & ABILITY SYNERGIES
Every run, choose from a variety of hero powers that shape your overall strategy.
Passives range from tank-saving effects to formation-breaking wildcards.
Stack buffs, status effects, and rune enhancements to create emergent combos across your Vikings.
Replay value comes from mixing heroes, drafting new powers, and discovering devastating synergy chains.
🪓 RUNE-ENHANCED CREW SYSTEM
Earn and equip powerful Runes to augment your Vikings with effects like:
Burn, poison, bleed, freeze, haste, armor, and more.
Equipment is consumable power boosts.
Build run-specific loadouts to adapt to enemy types and draft RNG.
🔁 ROGUELITE PROGRESSION LOOP
Fight through a series of PvE and PvP rounds, each more intense than the last.
Losing a PvP battle costs lives — but clever planning ensures you stay in the fight.
Each victory earns rewards and choices that evolve your strategy for the next encounter.
Runs end when all Vikings fall… or you become the top Jarl.

Release Patch - Game we be available at 12pm EST
Patch Notes – Release VersionCore GameplayRuns were taking far too long (45–60 minutes, even longer for first-time players). Our target is 20–30 minutes, and 40–60 minutes for new players. To tighten pacing, we streamlined several node events and reduced transition times between encounters.Changes:Reduced effect durations in Odin’s Trial, Goldmine, and Hunting Grounds.Decreased load times between nodes.Overall, this removes roughly 1 minute per year during a run.Battles remain the same pace, but the time between battles is now significantly faster.New SystemsAscendWin 10 victories in a run to challenge the Jarl Leader. Shop improvements and bug fixes
-Fixed an issue when dragging a rune or equipment onto a unit that was full and having the rune or equipment follow the unit you are dragging around.-Fixed an issue when buying a unit and dragging it ontop of another unit in your party that it wouldn't swap them. Now it will sell the unit you overlap with and swap it.-Disabled the ease in animation when buying and swapping units. This was causing an error to happen where the unit would get stuck in an invalid state.-Fixed an issue where you drag your unit out of the grid to try to swap the unit with another causing it to get in a stuck state.-Fixed an issue where runes and equipment wouldn't swap.-Remove the right click buy option. This was only meant for testing.-Removed animation when a unit snaps back to the grid. Thanks to everyone who submitted bug reports and thanks to andraxxusbear for the detailed report as well.Read full article on Community Announcements (Don't Cage Me, Bro.)Patch NotesOfficial
New Balance Pass - Full database reset
As we get ready for Steam Next Fest I wanted to give one final pass through all the power numbers. All units have been adjusted so each tier is now more powerful than than previous by around 90-120%. I also adjusted a lot of the runic powers that we're scaled by gold and rations to use a percent vs the flat amount.Increased the amount of rations to increase the store from 30>50 and tier 3 from 60>100. To adjust for the larger power curve.Tier 3 units have been added to the game and some Vikings have been moved around so they no longer be in the same tier as before.I adjusted the greyscale on Viking, as it was too dark. Finally I have reset the database to get fresh boards in with the new Viking power values.Read full article on Community Announcements (Don't Cage Me, Bro.)AnnouncementsOfficial
Release is November 17th
Thank You for Playing RaidboundFirst off — thank you all so much for playing Raidbound. As a solo developer, this project has been both a challenging and deeply rewarding journey. Seeing players enjoy what I’ve created makes every late night and long weekend worth it.As I prepare for the full launch, I want to share a quick update: the demo has been adjusted to conclude after Day 6. This change allows me to keep the demo live for new players to experience while continuing to update and refine it over time.Looking AheadSince it’s just me developing Raidbound, my focus after launch will shift toward expanding the game with new content. The full release will include:Tier 3 unitsNew equipment and abilitiesVarious balance and quality-of-life improvementsI’ve spent the past year bringing Raidbound to life, and after launch, I plan to take a short breather before diving into future updates. Until release, my top priority will be bug fixes and polish to ensure the smoothest experience possible. Why Not Early Access?I debated whether Raidbound should launch in Early Access. In the end, I decided against it. While there’s plenty I still want to add and refine, I didn’t want the game to sit indefinitely in an “in progress” state. I’ll continue improving and expanding Raidbound — just at my own pace, without the constraints of an Early Access label.Price & Launch DetailsRaidbound will launch at a price of $4.99 USD, with no launch discount. I believe this price fairly reflects the scope of the experience while helping me continue to build the game’s future.Final WordsOnce again, thank you all for your support, feedback, and enthusiasm throughout development.— DRead full article on Community Announcements (Don't Cage Me, Bro.)
