  Kickstarter Week 1: 200% Funded & 2 Stretch Goals Unlocked! 🎉

  It’s officially been one week since we launched our Kickstarter campaign and the response has been mind-blowing!Thanks to the incredible support of our backers, we reached 100% funding on Day 1 and have already unlocked two stretch goals, reaching 200% funding! 🎉Here is a look at the stretch goals reached so far and what’s coming up next:2 Stretch Goals Unlocked: New Pet Companion 😺 & Emote Expansion 🎭Pets travel by your side, help gather resources, fetch items, and offer advice. Unlocking our first stretch goal means we’re adding a 5th pet companion to the game, complete with its own custom card and starter deck! Backers will get to vote on which pet makes the cut.As for the second stretch goal, we received so many requests for new player emotes and interactions, especially for co-op ones you can do with friends and family. With this stretch goal now achieved, we are adding 10 single-player emotes and 5 co-op emotes! Backers will also get to vote on which emotes make it into the final game.Next Goal: New Biome! 🏞️Exploration is at the heart of Humblets. Our next stretch goal will add a whole new biome to the game.   Hello humblets! 🌱We’re back to show you our new game title design, first ever illustration, and newest icon! These have been in the works for a while and we’re finally able to share them Game Title 🍃We’re so excited to show our new game title design, created by the super talented Laia (@mettraya)! We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out ✨As the game evolved, our old design didn’t match our current direction and began to feel disconnected. We went back to sketching ideas with specific goals in mind, and Laia took over to create this awesome final design!Firstly, we wanted the new look to be fantasy inspired, with decorative lettering, exaggerated shapes, and a sturdiness that feels like it came out of an old folklore book. From there, it was all about adding a layer of soft, organic details to further tie it into our nature focused world. The letters H, L, and S have soft, bark-like edges and tiny leaves poking out. Of course, there is also the sprout on top of the letter L. Keeping a sprout element in the text was something we wanted to retain from the original design, and it’s even more important now that the humblets have sprouts on their heads too! 🌱Finally, we went with a simple, solid white colour to make the text look light and stand out beautifully against our nature environments 🌿Illustration 🖼️This is our first Humblets illustration piece, and we wanted it to really capture a specific moment from the game, which is the excitement of setting out on a grand adventure with your friends. It was created by the incredible Poqu (@poqu.bsky.social)! And it’s everything we hoped for!! When we first started brainstorming, we kept coming back to the feeling of the Shire from Lord of the Rings, and Poqu perfectly translated that into our world 🏕️For the setting, we chose our first biome of green hills, tall grass, and fluffy sheep.   Hello humblets! 🌱Today we want to talk about animations and show you some behind the scenes clips 🤸 And if you want to see the final animations in action, you can also check out our latest video on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube!We spent weeks going through animations for the humblet with our amazing animator. Constantly pulling out our Switches, opening up every Nintendo and stylized game we own. Each movement and character state we’d do repeatedly, trying to catch all the subtle details that really sell movements. In the end, we feel like it paid off!Walk and Run 👟We explored a bunch of different walk styles. We wanted something cute and cartoony, but also smooth enough to loop without getting distracting. The one we landed on felt just right once we tested it in the engine. It had a soft bop and lightness to every step which felt really nice when moving around. We also had a version of the animation which was more feminine and wondered if choosing your walking style should be an option to add to the game but we chose to focus on adding more animations instead and will revisit this idea later down the line.The run is basically a more exaggerated version of the walk, with a really satisfying hop. We didn’t want it to feel urgent or panicky, just playful and fun. It has leaning added to it when turning, so the character tilts slightly in the direction you’re moving. And when going up or down hills, they lift their knees higher or lower to match the slope.Idles ⛅Above are some of the first idle drafts!We explored different types of idles, some calmer and others more energetic. The final idle we ended with has the character gently swaying side to side, with their arms moving along with it. If you stand still for a bit longer, they start rocking on their feet. Wait a little more and they’ll sit down on the ground, while looking around propped up on their hands.   Escape from Ever After just released!

  Hey fellow humblets! We wanted to give a quick shoutout to a game that launched today from our friends at Sleepy Castle Studio. If you’ve been keeping an eye on our game, there’s a great chance you’ll enjoy Escape from Ever After! It’s a story-driven adventure that we know the team put a lot of passion and care into. It takes inspiration from Paper Mario, so fans of that style will feel familiar right away, and if you’ve never played that kind of game before, it’s going to be a really nice place to start.Here's a few reasons you might like it: - You get to explore fairytale worlds with lots to discover and some very cute characters - You’ll meet companions with their own personalities that you can customize and upgrade - You can decorate and expand your office with furniture and layout changes - And the combat is super fun, they did such a great job on it!The demo received 96% Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam, and the full game is out now on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch.
