Discover the allure of an indie adventure where you're trapped in a perpetual loop within a frozen metropolis. Will unraveling the past lead to freedom or deeper entrapment?

About this game

A city is lost in a polar night. A snowstorm that never ends.

It's the 2000s. In the far north. Egor works at a research institute, stuck pushing paper in the world’s most soul-crushing job, but those utility bills won't pay themselves. He dreams of the sea, but let's face it — hell will freeze over before he can afford a vacation.

His routine is shattered when he discovers he's stuck in a time loop. Trying to make sense of it, he’s forced to face the real question: Why bother escaping at all? Tomorrow doesn't bode well, and maybe a single carefree day is all he needs to be happy.

THE SILENCE OF STAIRWELLS

Deep Pixel Melancholy is a visual novel about inner emptiness and the search for meaning. When one bad event follows another endlessly, what does it take to push through, and reignite a spark inside?

Follow the story and experience each loop with Egor. Listen to his thoughts, interact with others, and choose a path that leads to one of several endings.

A LIFE LIKE A STUCK VHS

Sink into the slow, heavy vibe of a wintry city, where the snow falls with quiet indifference and the polar night has no end.

Pause for a moment, and take in the animated pixel art full of early-2000s nostalgia.

Play through a variety of mini-games and interact with the world around you.

MYSTERIOUS PHENOMENA

I drop to the floor and bury my face in my hands.

Something’s happening. Something I don’t understand.

My thoughts buzz in my head like a huge traffic jam until the howling wind drowns them out. The storm carries me off somewhere far away.

Somewhere no one can reach me.

Hey everyone! We’re here to share that our game is taking part in one of the coolest narrative game festivals, LudoNarraCon 2026 by Fellow Traveller ːneedy_heartːWe’re proud of the work we’ve done and really happy to be one of the participants. The festival starts today, so wish us luck and check out the other games here. And we’ll be back with more news soon ːcupheadː I think the biggest news will come in November, but for now I can say that development is almost finished. We just need enough energy, attention, and a little luck so we don’t get destroyed by some critical bug, and so Steam approves the release build on the first try.Okay, more details later. Bye for now!

    Telltale’s Choices Matter Festival

WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE???Hi, this is Max, the writer of Deep Pixel Melancholy. A long time ago, starting with the first season of The Walking Dead, I played Telltale games and took notes on how to create branching stories. Back then, I was still in school and could never have imagined that one day I’d take part in a festival with a game selected by Telltale themselves. But it happened. The festival has already started, and we’re part of it. To me, this feels like huge recognition of everything our team has achieved together, and I’m insanely excited to see what comes from it.So, if you still haven’t played Deep Pixel Melancholy (which is now available in four languages), go check it out. Telltale approved. What more proof do you need that we made a cool game?!https://store.steampowered.com/sale/Choices-Matter-FestivalWe’re around, but now it’s back to putting scenes together and getting ready for release.

Spanish Localization and a New Demo

More exciting news: Deep Pixel Melancholy now has a European Spanish translation. Our friend Tobías J. Barbaria Álvarez is helping us with it. Along with the Latin American Spanish translation by Auster Translations, both languages are already available in the demo!We hope and believe this will help Deep Pixel Melancholy reach a wider audience. We’ll find out soon. Either way, Spanish is simply a beautiful language, and with our limited resources (both financial and time related) we’re just happy that we can translate the game into it.More exciting news is coming very soon, so stay close.Hugs

    Latin American Spanish

Hi, friends! We want to share some good news. A couple of wonderful people from Auster Translations, Milagros and Francisco, are helping us. Thanks to them, Deep Pixel Melancholy will soon speak one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, Latin American Spanish! We also should mention that there's a chance we might not be able to add the translation by release. That's entirely our responsibility, since every text block has to be added manually because of the game's architecture. However, we'll do our best to have Latin American Spanish available at launch.Stay tuned, and see you soon
