About this game
Control Cururu, a Brazilian bullfrog from the country’s native fauna, on a spiritual journey to purify a corrupted world.

The deep corruption of the miasma is eroding the minds of mortals and spirits alike. Desperate and alone, one of the forest’s last remaining entities — Naiá, the Giant Water Lily — chooses a hero. Now, a young frog must embark on a journey of self-discovery to save the land he calls home before the corruption consumes everything.
Cururu: Whispers of the Forest is a 2D Metroidvania deeply rooted in Brazilian culture. Explore biomes reimagined through a Naturepunk lens, solve puzzles, evolve your abilities, face corrupted animals and spirits, and unlock new paths using the purifying power of water.

Each region features living fauna and flora, soundtracks infused with Brazilian rhythms, traditional regional dishes, and a story that celebrates national culture.
Waters that shape the world
Blessed with the power of the Lunar Waters, uncover the secrets of the past and purify areas overtaken by the Miasma, an ancient evil returning to reclaim control of the world. Overcome challenges, cleanse each region, free its inhabitants, and reconnect with your spiritual side.

The new name reflects the tone of the game more accurately and also improves how players discover it through Steam search and recommendations. We are also working full-speed on a playable demo, so you’ll soon be able to experience the first steps of Cururu’s journey for yourselves. The game is gaining new characters, mechanics, and layers of storytelling, and we can’t wait to share more with you. If you’d like to follow the development more closely, give feedback, or even help shape what comes next, our community Discord is open! That’s where we share behind-the-scenes content first and talk directly with players who are helping the world of Cururu come to life. And now for the big announcement:Between November 10th and 17th, we will be rolling out a major update to our Steam page, showcasing more about the game’s vision, worldbuilding, and direction going forward.Read full article on Community Announcements (hudfiuza)
