  Devlog: Our Ship's Stubborn Travel Companion on OHAYO 🐦⚓

  In the OHAYO universe, every ship has special birds responsible for navigation. Under normal circumstances, these birds retire after completing their duties. But things are a little different on our ship...Meet: Our Bird Who Refuses to Retire. This small but rebellious companion is both feisty and iconically cute, much like a magpie. While drawing it, we always asked ourselves: “What kind of sound would this bird make?” We imagined it having a sweet appearance and a voice that sounds like it's constantly complaining.But this bird's stubbornness isn't limited to its voice. It has a problem: Just like the quest for revenge in the story of Moby Dick, it has a great enemy from the past. That's why it tries to steer the ship in that direction at every opportunity. Of course, our muscular and attentive hero quickly notices this and takes the reins.So what's happening under the sea? 🌊Our ship's diver is almost constantly underwater. He carries a special lamp that reveals valuable minerals. A small piece of the mineral's essence is placed inside this lamp, thus beginning the journey to find the actual mineral.Our diver also has a special iron map in his hand. We were inspired by the maps divers use underwater in real life. When he sees a fish, he fires a signal flare to notify his fishing partner beside him.Dialogues, character interactions, and humor 🎭The scenes you see in this visual are actually composed of drawings depicting small dialogues and conflicts between the characters. In the world of OHAYO, we don't just fish; we also experience comical, surprising, and sometimes stubborn relationships with our fellow travelers.In short: Our journey aboard the ship continues not only against sea monsters, but also against the stubborn birds on board, the ambitious divers, and our own internal conflicts.We'd love to hear your predictions in the comments.   🌊 Ahoy, anglers! ⚓We’ve got something fresh from the deep sea for you. At the start of the game, you might remember that divers would head underwater to collect information for us. Well… they’ve just leveled up! 🚤🤿🐟Divers Are Now a Mini-Game!Instead of simply bringing back generic reports, the divers now return with valuable clues about the fish that will appear that day. Each dive is a small mini-game. What they discover will help you predict and prepare for the day’s fishing opportunities. Think of them as your underwater scouts, making sure you’re always one step ahead. 👀🌊 Why We Added This We didn’t want the divers to just be background flavor — now they’re part of your daily routine in the game. It adds a layer of mystery and strategy: Which fish will show up today? Should you change your gear? Or hold out for that rare catch? 🎣 What’s Next This is just the beginning of making the world feel more alive. We’re planning to expand these interactions even further, so your time by the ocean feels full of surprises and discoveries.   🌹 Fishing with Flowers? Welcome to Another Week in OHAYO!

  Hey everyone! This week in OHAYO’s ever-evolving world of monster fishing, our R&D team dove deep into the idea of shooting fish with style. The question was: What if bullets weren’t just bullets? What if they were... flowers? And guess what? We made it work.🎯🌸 🪷Petal-Powered Firearms Instead of traditional bullets, we experimented with custom-made metallic flowers loaded into your weapon. Our first prototype? A rose. With each shot, a rose petal falls off. Visually striking, symbolic, and surprisingly effective. But that’s just the beginning. We’re working on a full menu of flower-based ammo, each with unique effects on different fish behaviors: Shock Lavender – Instantly paralyzes electric fish Moon Orchid – Scares away nearby predators Blue Lotus – Calms aggressive fish and slows their movements ...and many more are in development. 🌼🔫 These floral rounds aren’t just beautiful — they open up new strategies and playstyles for every type of angler. 🌿Who Grows These Bullets? And now the real mystery: Who cultivates these strange flowers? We’re introducing a new, secretive character into the OHAYO universe: The Gardener. We haven’t revealed their design yet, but we’re toying with ideas like: An elder figure whose face is hidden behind overgrown blossoms A half-machine, half-forest hybrid with a hidden past A quiet, childlike entity with a mysterious calm We want to hear what you imagine. Hello to the Community! 🐟 About three years ago, while desperately trying to finish a horror game I was stuck in, I stumbled upon an old character design video for a dream project of mine — a game themed around monster fishing. At that moment… something sparked inside me. The character from the universe I had once imagined gave me hope again. Now, I’m beyond excited, because this project is no longer just a dream. I’ve secured funding and officially started developing the game full-time. With 15 years of experience I’ve been collecting, I was able to reshape this character. After countless late nights and lots of personal growth, I’m finally ready to share the first character design that I believe truly captures the soul of Gianthook. Your support and feedback are incredibly important to me. By simply sharing this game with your friends and communities, you’ll be giving me the greatest support possible. 🎯 Meet OHAYO GIANTHOOK!
