About this game

Blood & Bananas is a grand strategy game with a focus in economics during the cold war, a capitalism simulator where every country or company has their own goals and where you as the player is only a part of the world. Be a warlord by staging a mutiny or a benevolent ruler who focuses on diplomacy over war or the exact opposite, build the perfect army with different weapons, tanks and planes.

Be a country and increase your state power with money to kick out the companies or be a company who puppets countries with good business so you can make money and buy the market provinces of a country, launch new products and change their prices to gain more money or gain more demand in a province, build factories and offices to expand your influence across North America, you could also hire mercenaries and take it by force.

Build infrastructure to have more buildings which will improve economy. Use buildings to harvest/mine/extract different resources, monopolize them and mark them up when entities have no choice but to buy them from you. Either you start as a person and work yourself up via the career tree and buy seats to become more powerful than your liege and coup them or play as any entity on the map (tribes not suggested). You can do all at once if you so please.

    The Party Update Is Here

Better displayed information, the mouse object which pops up when hovering your mouse over certain UI elements is bigger and there is more information displayed, hopefully this will improve readability and make things easier to see on smaller screens.Spendings have been introduced. This makes the economic strategy of the game much more nuanced and fun, The spendings that have been introduced are, welfare, social, military, food tax, workers. There is also a police spending but this does not do anything until the next update. Having too low on the spendings will cause your parties popularity to shrink as well as stability. Same is true for food tax but if it's too high instead. Companies only have military and worker costs. Having low worker cost puts you at risk of a union reaction. Military spendings work like upkeep for divisions and basically becomes a force limitIf your party loses an election you are no longer in control of that country so be careful (You can always win back the election). As an authoritarian country (power level 4) or totalitarian (power level 5) you don't need to worry about elections but you will still need to worry about rebels. If you are an anocracy (power level 3) there are elections but you can rig them and also cancel them at the cost of reputability and stability. Added a couple of more events like Vaccaro brothers being bought and a Mexico starter event to be guide your way a bit. You can now split divisions properly, some loops have been consolidated so it does not lag as bad as well as the HQ object being replaced with a list for the same reason. A lot more reasons parties shrink and grow. Made war between countries and companies have a war score, added the ability to set up a free enterprise zone if you are a company at war with a country. Smaller bug fixesUpdated tutorial to reflect changes. There may be some patch notes to fix some jank in the near futureThe next update is a fun one, it will introduce criminality, cartels, loans...

    Update Coming Soon!

What you can expect in this update is some more leniency with how information is displayed, the mouse object gives a lot more information than before when you hover the mouse over the UI. The main part of this update is the party and spendings, you need to make sure your country supports your party if you want to stay in power long. You can pass debates changing how your party functions, if you're a democracy you have to win the election to keep playing as the country (You can win it back the next election). So pay attention to the party view as an indicator on how well your party is doing. You can cheat this mechanic heavily and that's the point.Spendings are also introduced by right clicking your entity and navigating to the bottom right corner of the diplomacy view. This has functionally created a force limit as military upkeep will take from weekly gain. Welfare and social spending with expected values directly connected to your party, food tax which can increase population and stability if lowered. Companies have military and building spendings.More exact information coming on the day of the update, thank you for your patience. It will most likely be out 31 of oktober but it may be delayed by a couple of days at most.
