In Stardust Frontier, team up to control limbs of a giant mech, strategize through official microgames, and blast robots in an exciting blend of adventure and strategy.
About this game
It's You vs. the Frontier, and the Frontier doesn't take kindly to strangers.
Travel to the untamed Stardust Frontier, and forge into the unknown in this roguelike microgaming party adventure! Team up with up to four players and battle against hostile wildlife, scrappy scavengers, and terrifying bosses! Your phones are your controllers, and through them you'll play a myriad of microgames to take aim, fire powerful weapons, repair your mech, and unleash devastating team tactics against your foes!
As you travel through the Frontier, you'll find new equipment, and weaponry, and relics to kit out your mech, encounter strange merchants and unexpected events, and fight all sorts of threatening foes for riches and material. Master the microgames and outperform your teammates to show off your skills, then work with them in times of need to avoid utter destruction! Fight together and claim victory!
Buy Once, Play with the Whole Group - Only the host needs to own the game. Players can hop right in on their phones, no purchase required!
Positions and Classes - Each player controls a unique character with wildly varying abilities, who is responsible for one part of the mech! Combine your unique skills to save yourselves from destruction, and augment and replace your mech parts until you're rocking an incomprehensible amalgam of machinery!
Tactical Microgame Action - Formulate a plan based on your opponent's intents, and use your microgame skills to power your actions! But be careful—Not all foes will wait for you to blast them into orbit! Enemies can dispatch unique reactive intents that change depending on your actions!
Procedurally Generated Runs - With every run taking place on a unique procedurally generated world, there's infinite possibilities and paths to take!
In-Person or over the Net - Stardust Frontier works great whether you're all crowded on a single couch, or spread halfway across the world. Any number of host monitors can connect to a single game, so you don't even need to stream your computer screen!
Every Atom is Customizable - Nobody likes those party games that force you to play that one game everyone hates every. single. TIME. Not feeling a microgame? Turn it off! Want to customize the map size, encounter difficulty, round time, or even make an entirely predetermined run for your friends to suffer through? Fly at it! We've done everything we can to make this the most flexible party game experience you'll ever have.
Unlocks that Don't Unlock your Bank Account - Microtransactions are so not it. Every cosmetic and customization option is unlocked through gameplay, and we're keeping it that way.
An incredible soundtrack by Minecraft composer Aaron Cherof!
Stardust Frontier takes full advantage of your mobile device's capabilities for its controllers. Each player must use a phone or tablet to control the game. To play, launch the Steam game and start a lobby. The game window is your Host Monitor, and all players need to be able to see it at all times. Then, players scan the QR code on-screen to open the mobile controls in their web browsers, no purchase or sign-up required!
Any number of desktop browsers can be connected as additional Host Monitors to a lobby, mirroring the contents of the main screen. Instructions can be found in the game.

So give it a shot with your friends, and please do give us your feedback to help us shape the game as we move towards the full release!Next StepsIn the immediate future (next couple of weeks) we'll be focusing on patching bugs and resolving issues that players encounter and report to us, as well as ensuring the stability of our multiplayer servers as they get their first real surge of organic (and unpredictable) players! After things have had a chance to settle down, we'll be starting semi-regular Playtests on Steam to explore and refine new features that will be coming to the demo, so definitely enroll in the Playtest now if you haven't already! Stardust Frontier Playtest Begins SOON!
Hey folks, long time no see! We've been real busy over here adding content, polishing up our interface and gameplay, and getting ready for our first live multiplayer playtest! We had hoped to run the playtest much earlier, but long-story-short we got into a mess with Apple trying to publish our iOS client because they didn't understand what it even was! Thankfully, that's all been squared away now, and all we're waiting for is a little bit more polish on the new features we've been able to implement while waiting for them to verify us (bittersweet, I know). But very soon we'll be spinning up the first public playtest of Stardust Frontier! So if you haven't signed up to the Playtest yet, click the button on our Store Page to get access to it once it launches. And if you have already signed up, maybe toss us a Wishlist if you haven't already ːsteamhappyːRight now, we have about 550 playtesters already signed up. We'd love to get it up to around 1000 to really give our server infrastructure a stress-test.We're super hyped to show you all the game! Can't wait to hear your feedback!Oh, and before I forget, Discord plug!Join our Discord!~ Auri 🐾Read full article on Community Announcements (Effort Games)AnnouncementsOfficial
Our Store Page is Live! + Discord Invitation
Hello everyone!! Welcome to our Community Hub for Stardust Frontier! It's honestly been an incredible rush today just seeing the Steam page and all its associated bits and bobs go public; I don't think Brian or I were quite prepared for how suddenly real everything would feel now that it's out!I just wanted to create a little post to let everyone know that we have an Effort Games Discord Server! It's the best place for catching up with the latest development updates, insofar as poorly cropped dev-server screenshots count as updates ;) Aaand, it's a great place to chat with us, if you want to know anything about the project, or maybe get in on some early playtests, or just say Hi!Do take a peek if you're interested!Join Our Discord!~ Auri 🐾Read full article on Community Announcements (Auri)
