About this game

Overview

Colossal Kickoff is a blood-pumping, monster-mashing, no-holds-barred soccer party game for 1-4 players! One player will embody a terrifying monster from folklore and legend. Armed with a suite of game-changing abilities, the monster is equipped with everything they need to dominate the pitch. The others will be puny human warriors who must use teamwork if they want any hope of pulling out a win.

Colossal Kickoff features five different monsters to play as and five different stages. Each monster hails from a different part of the world with their own mythological background, and each stage reflects this history. The five monsters have completely unique gameplay, with strengths, weaknesses and abilities all their own.

As the warriors, you'll need to have good teamwork and coordination to take down the big boss. Use your slide and juke moves to outmaneuver the monster, and pass the ball between each other to power up your super-charged kick to stun the monster and pierce through the goal's barriers!

Other Features

Don't have a full four players? No problem! Colossal Kickoff features computer-controlled Warriors and Minotaur Monsters at launch, helping you to fill out your games no matter how many players you've got on your couch. In addition, other settings about the game can be customized, including turning gore into candy in "Piñata Mode"!

Soundtrack

Colossal Kickoff features a totally rockin' soundtrack by Elizabeth Becker, with a unique theme song for each stage that blends that nation's musical traditions with an amped-up rock sound. The Colossal Kickoff Original Soundtrack is available for purchase alongside the game.

    Update #1: FRESH MEAT

The wait is over, Update 1: Fresh Meat is HEREGreetings, Colossal League fans! We've got a ton of goodies to share with you for what's in store for our first major update. Fresh Meat focuses on monster rebalancing, QOL improvements, improved tutorials, and increased customization. Let's dive in to all the changes:New Control SchemeWe heard the feedback loud and clear, our default control scheme was not very intuitive for most players. Let us take a moment in remembrance of our dear friend, the "Flick to Kick (AKA Slingshot)" control scheme... ok, that was long enough. Introducing the new scheme, "Point and Shoot!" Simply press in the right trigger, aim where you want to kick with the right stick, and release the trigger!Improved TutorialAnother big point of feedback we were getting was that it was difficult to learn how to play the game. The old control scheme didn't help, but our slideshow tutorial wasn't an effective teaching tool either. Now you can load into a designated tutorial mode that will walk you through the ins and outs of playing the game. It's very quick, so if you have a new player, going through the tutorial with them should be a painless process! Player Profiles + More CustomizationPlayers can now go into the options menu and create custom profiles. Within these profiles, you can set a favorite jersey color and, drum roll please, a SKIN TONE! You can also change between your preferred kicking style (for all of those who liked the old slingshot style, it's still an option!) and set a controller deadzone. These profiles can be selected on the character select screen.Monster Taunts + SFXOur monster mains out there may have been annoyed that their puny opponents could taunt but they couldn't. Good news: the monsters are now able to taunt as well! Each monster has unique lines fitting their personality. Try it out in your next match by pressing the DPAD.Other ImprovementsHere's a list of some other improvements we've made:Improved performance of the sett...

    Patch #01

Hey everyone! Patch #01 is OUT NOW! We're proud to announce a number of bugs have been squashed! Thank you to everyone in our community Discord who helped us find some of these. We targeted a number of visual bugs and issues with some of the achievements. Bug Fixes: Fixed a couple of display issues when running the game on a Steam Deck. Player portraits now properly display their respective player's color (RIP to the "nude" portraits). The back wall on the Canada stage is now properly transparent. Monsters should now act more consistently after the game ends (this was most visible when the Quetzalcoatl got stuck in the air if flying when the match ended). Fixed a couple instances of the game claiming that a player "Own Goaled" when they did not. Fixed achievements being tracked for CPU players/monsters. Fixed some issues with settings acting weird the first time the game is run. Fixed a couple typos on the main menu. Tweaked some code relating to control stick deadzones (this hopefully results in smoother play, more control changes are currently in development). Changes: A text box directing players to the How To Play screen will now appear on the main menu if the game detects that a user is new to the game. Added a changelog to the main menu. Selected menu options are now more visible. Match settings are now more descriptive and change depending on the selected option.
