About the Game

After years in confinement at the hands of the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), Dylan Faden emerges into a warped Manhattan at the peak of a paranatural crisis.

Charged with combating a mysterious cosmic entity as it alters fundamental aspects of our reality, Dylan must harness his new-found powers to take the fight to the myriad threats overwhelming Manhattan.

Join Dylan in this sequel to the multi-award-winning CONTROL to explore the expansive zones of a city overrun by the corrupting influences of the chaotic Hiss, invasive micro-organism, the Mold, and other twisted paranatural threats.

On the path to unlocking the full potential of his paranatural abilities Dylan will also seek out his sister, FBC Director Jesse Faden, as he bids to comprehend and contain the dangers that have spilled beyond the confines of the Oldest House to tear our world apart.

STEP INTO A WARPED REALITY

Explore multiple areas of a ravaged Manhattan in an expansive, unfamiliar, and exciting world.

Uncover the motivations of characters and entities throughout a ravaged Manhattan. Guide Dylan as he seeks to re-establish his identity, dig deeper into the inner workings of the FBC and reveal the horrors threatening humankind.

Meet faces old and new on a path fraught with risk but rich in opportunity as the cityscape is reshaped and reality is redefined by a godlike force.

MASTER THE PARANATURAL

Channel the raw experiences of Dylan’s past to help understand his present and dig deeper into the inner workings of the FBC and reveal the horrors threatening humankind.

Tap into power he must learn to master and take choices to shape how his abilities manifest and grow.

Explore a deep progression system to define how Dylan adapts to emerging dangers. Forge connections crucial to Dylan’s fight to retain his humanity as he journeys from former test subject to paranatural superweapon.

THE FIGHT SHIFTS. YOUR WEAPON SHIFTS WITH IT.

Meet constantly evolving threats head-on, utilising the environment, deploying elemental abilities and using the raw force of Dylan’s shapeshifting melee weapon, the Aberrant.

Wield the Aberrant in its many deadly forms. Deliver bone-crunching blows with a two-handed hammer and flow seamlessly into the swift precision of dual-wielded blades as this paranatural weapon morphs on demand to meet each new challenge.

SHARED LEGACY. NEW THREAT

FBC Director Jesse Faden's lockdown is no longer holding. A paranatural catastrophe has spilled beyond the Oldest House and onto the streets of Manhattan, and the Bureau's grip on containment is failing.

Jesse Faden walked into the Oldest House to confront the threat within. Now Dylan must walk out of it to contain the threat beyond.

Hotfix 1.4.1 Fixes The Park Resonant Quest & Dashing Into Elevate

This hotfix addresses two specific issues that yesterday's 1.4.0 Game Update unfortunately broke. There were thousands of changes in 1.4.0 and while we diligently test these updates, some things unfortunately slip. We apologize for any frustration caused.  Hotfix NotesFixed an issue where players were unable to progress The Park Resonant quest because eating the Mold (required quest step) became impossible.Fixed Dash canceling while using Elevate: The issue here was that while fixing a bug related to movement, we inadvertently broke the momentum from dashing carrying over to Surge. We apologize for this and lets... move on.

Control Resonant's New Game++ update also squashes some of my least favourite bugs, including the one where magic doors change my trousers

Trippy hack 'n' slash sequel (and, for the benefit of anyone planning for this year’s Advent Calendar guessing game in the RPS Discord, my current second-favouritest game of 2026) Control Resonant has a big old update out today. As declassified by Remedy, it not only adds the pledged New Game++ mode for plus-deficient game replayers, but makes absolutely bloody loads of smaller bug fixes and quality of life tweaks. Read more

CONTROL Resonant Game Update 1.4.0 brings New Game++ & Quality of Life fixes

Game Update 1.4.0 NotesHello.  We hope you are having a great time with CONTROL Resonant. We have been very happy with the game's stability and overall technical performance during the launch window, based on the feedback we've received and the data we are seeing. However, there's always more to improve and fix, especially in a game of this size and ambition. Many things are much easier to see now that so many people are playing. Game Update 1.40 brings many bug fixes for problems you likely never saw, fixes issues you have encountered, and adds additional polish across the game. The update notes don't list every fix, but rather the ones we think make a difference for players. Or are just plain funny. The criteria keep changing as we go. Lastly and very importantly, Game Update 1.40 brings quite a few quality-of-life improvements, so let's go over the highlights. Highlights New Game ++: You can now play an infinite number of runs of CONTROL Resonant in New Game ++ Added the Build Power number to the Loadout screen on the bottom left so that players can easily see their Power level instead of having to find it buried in the Stats & Effects menu: It's worth saying here that if you are below the enemy level, you are going to have a tougher time with combat, so keep doing side quests, explore twisted Manhattan, and level up! The HUD will have a little notification icon to indicate that you have new things to buy or upgrade in The Gap Added a feature that when you pin materials you need to acquire for upgrades, you can see if these materials are available at the Vendor by looking at the Vendor icon on the Map (instead of having to go to the Vendor to see their wares) Unknown Zone - Decreased the overall amount of combat and intensity by 10%-15% Added a separate volume slider for radio dialogue. You can now customize the audio balance between speakers/headphones and the DualSense controller speaker Added a new option in the Assist Mode - Power Core Charge Duration: Added ...
