About this game
Abyss Veil is a genre-bending first-person shooter / visual novel that retraces the lives of Ivy, Mel and many others in a war torn world.
Ivy searches for her brother, the only person in her life who she could find solace in. They both shared a common dream with their friends... What was it? Anyway, she is now part of the Whitehounds, a fate perhaps worse than death itself.
Mel ran away from Mars during the war, leaving everyone behind to live as a mercenary. She's now a Knight pilot in a shady mercenary group.
History was erased.
Power was rewritten.
A World To Erase
The first inter-planetary war between the families under the United Nations of Earth (UNE) and the Democratic Republic of Mars (DRM) has been raging for years. The Empress has gone silent. The balance of power between the families has shifted, and hostility grows from within. What could possibly lie behind the veil ?
Lily Archipelago
Gangs, mercenaries and the Menodora family are constantly clashing for power accross Lily Archipelago, the main region Abyss Veil is set in. Each island has its own rules, vices, and beliefs! But one thing remains true: no matter the blood spilled, the archipelago has never bowed to the UNE! Crazy stuff!!

Abyss Veil 1.9 - Godot shart itself edition -
Yesterday night I pushed a build of the same version fixing a bug, I exported the game and put it up and went out to take a leak. Game hasn't been openable since, why? The export was corrupted, and no matter how many times I re-exported it remained corrupted... So after some trials and some errors, I got to the bottom of it and fixed it, learned a new thing today. (Game works now btw lol)Thing I learned today for Godot indie devs or curious minds alike:If your project.binary's header corrupted, even without changing your engine's version, my way of fixing it was first, finding out about it through GDRE Tools by opening the Abyss Veil.pck file. Then I deleted the .Import file in the game's project so Godot would re-import it all. Then I uninstalled and re-installed Godot's Export Templates. Closed and re-opened the project, exported it.. Here's 1.8Invert Y Axis support You can now click anywhere on screen to skip/continue the VN segmentsSave room added before dad tank bossSensitivity is divided by half when aiming with gunsEntering a new location/level, with the Whitehounds, will tell you where you're at during the loadingSome audio fixesSome small rewrites and new dialogues/worldbuilding bits added to make the story slightly less confusing by the end (more to come). There's gonna be some more rewrites as we move toward Part 2 of Abyss Veil. One addition/rewrite example would be after reaching Mirny's Pit, I gave Ivy more dialogues during the tank-control part etc.I read and watch everything y'all say! I don't want to trim anything out of the game, but I also want it to be enjoyable through and through, I can always make this first part a little better for the next players who might stumble upon this mess.
