About this game

Run on any wall. Grapple rooftops. Call in your mech, then blow the map to pieces.

ShatterRush is a multiplayer parkour FPS where fluid movement meets massive mechs in fully destructible levels to create flow-state combat you’ve been waiting years for!

ShatterRush is a high-speed parkour FPS with massive battle mechs and fully destructible arenas. Master momentum to outplay rivals in 16-player combat where the battlefield reshapes every fight.

Key Features

  • Advanced Movement, Instantly Familiar: Feel the rush as you wall-run, slide, double jump, mantle, dash, stim and grapple with a movement system that is incredibly easy to learn, yet feels right at home with other games you've played before.

  • No Permament Cover: Blast through walls, floors, and rooftops to create new sightlines, escape routes, and flanks. Nearly every single building in the map can be levelled - adapt or be left in the rubble.

  • Mech Mayhem: Deploy a towering war-machine and literally level the playing field with overpowered weaponry that can turn the tide of battle.

Some of ShatterRush's best features, like advanced Source-style movement, playable mechs, and splitscreen have all been implemented directly based off feedback from the community.

We believe that by developing in lock-step with our community, we can truly deliver the movement shooter you've been waiting years for. Our Open Pre-Alpha is available right now for this very reason - so you can be part of the community that shapes this game's future!

We love the movement-shooter space, and we are designing ShatterRush to be the stim-shot this genre needs:

  • Accessible For All: ShatterRush is designed to be fun at all skill levels, on a variety of hardware setups. Expect incredible high-skill depth for pro players, and fun chaotic action for new players, with performant gameplay that runs well on most modern hardware.

  • Split-Screen Multiplayer: Bringing back the glory days of couch gaming, ShatterRush already includes full split-screen support, even when playing global online multiplayer!

  • Regular, Community-Driven Updates: We release major updates to our Open Pre-Alpha every 2-3 weeks based on feedback from our players. Be part of the change!

    v0.21 - Capture The Flag!

v0.21 is now live! This brings a month's worth of new fixes and updates, but primarily:Capture The Flag! One of our most requested modes, CTF is here! There are some key changes to the mode that make it play very well in ShatterRush:No Movement AbilitiesCritically, when you pickup the flag, you lose access to your movement ability. This sounds quite counter-intuitive, but let us cook - we REALLY want this mode to encourage Destruction and team-play. If you could pop a stim and just sprint between your base and the enemy base, that isn't much fun to everyone else in the lobby.Instead, by forcing you to slow down, you now rely on your teammates much more to protect you. As well, you can make your own destruction route around the map before capturing the flag for optimal return performance. We're really excited to see how players will react to this restriction, and what kind of strategies will come out of it.Always On MarkerWhen picking up the flag, you'll be permanently visible to the whole enemy team. This encourages you to fully utilise the movement system to avoid being eliminated early. No MechsWhile holding the flag, you can't use your mech. We want flag carrying to be an intense experience, and retreating to the safety of a multi-ton mech goes against this.Home Flag NeededWhen capturing an enemy flag, the home flag is required to score. This has lead to a lot of interesting behaviour in playtests - you now have to BOTH escort your flag carrier and defend your dropped flag until it resets, leading to incredibly intense firefights even in 1v1 matches!Other ChangesMAJOR improvements to the reliability of the mantle and climbing, it should be far more consistent in terms of performance.Teams now auto-balance, and teams are more evenly distributed skill-wise across matches. And much more!GG, have fun!

v0.20 - The most fluid FPS movement ever? And 2 new maps + modes!

One of the largest updates in ShatterRush history is coming this week: the "FreeFlow" update.FEATURE 1: "FreeFlow" Movement EngineThis update adds the "FreeFlow" parkour movement engine, designed to create the smoothest traversal available in a multiplayer FPS. Think of FreeFlow as a system that's purely designed to help you maintain flow-state movement. The goal of the system is to seamlessly transition you between states, with reworked wallrunning and mantling, plus the addition of wallclimbing. When you mantle, you will retain almost all momentum, and should you miss a ledge, your character will climb up and continue without interruption. You can also mantle sideways/backwards, allowing movement like this:This is one of those features that massively improve how the core gameplay works. The fluidity in movement you now get is just insane, I'm really excited to see how players use this system in combat!PS: This feature was suggested by one of our Discord members - when we say we listen to feedback, we really do mean it!FEATURE 2: High Performance, Low LagA common complaint we heard from you was lag/desync and frame drops occur more often than they should. The last few updates have completely rebuilt FUNDEMENTAL systems and code to provide the best possible performance. Where previous playtests revealed about 12 desync spikes per 10 minutes, I now get only ONE desync spike in 30-50 minutes of gameplay (which self-corrects after about 2 seconds). These improvements also allow us to increase the lobby size too!If you had issues with desync before, you absolutely should check out this version.FEATURE 3: 2 New Maps and 2 New Modes! As well, this update adds 2 maps (the AAA-designed Fusion map, and a reworked Dropship), and 2 new game modes (Gun Game, Infection, joining Team Deathmatch and FFA for 4 total modes).Infection is my personal favourite - having to use all of your movement knowledge and skill to weave between and dodge a dozen infected players is so much fun!But ...

v0.19.0 - MASSIVE Stability/Lag Improvements, New Anti-Cheat, and so much more!

This update completely overhauls the back-end netcode of the game. In our testing, rubberbanding and desync have been DRASTICALLY reduced. The FPS limit has also been removed now. We've also spent some time squashing a ton of bugs - including year-old ones! Reworked ability system to be lag-resistant. Really, try it! Because this is such a massive change, there may be someFINALLY FIXED a year-old issue where the bolt-actions can get "stuck" on high-latency environmentsFixed mech weapons not firing when you first embark in themDestruction now made much more reliable - when using explosives, you should almost always expect destruction to occurWe are making lots of adjustments to the controller aim assist, we will be tweaking the values based on data - please be patient with us on this!Movement should be feel lower latency, and much more optimised in high-player lobbiesAnti Cheat Updates The ShatterRush Open Pre-Alpha is now trialing Easy Anti Cheat as our security provider for the game. Recent improvements to Easy Anti Cheat have sufficiently increased the protection provided to the point where we now feel comfortable in using it for this project. I can confirm that ShatterRush's implementation of Easy Anti Cheat fully works on Linux/SteamOS, I have been testing it on my Steam Deck OLED with no issues. As this is done via Proton, no extra setup is necessary. Please let us know if you run into any problems with it. Thank you for your support in helping us fight against cheaters! What's Next? New Maps and Modes! We have finalized the layout for our AAA-designed map Fusion and will begin adding destruction to it soon. Get hyped!Based on your feedback on Discord, Instagram and Tiktok, we will be adding the most requested modes: Gun Game and Capture the Flag! Expect these modes very soon... :)This is a MASSIVE update, so please be sure to report any issues you have. Thank you all for your support, have fun! GG!
