Update 2.50.0: Lock-On Targeting and Audio Updates

This week's update adds a new optional and toggleable lock-on targeting system. The system automatically moves the crosshair and target point to the target closest to the center of the screen. The purpose of this feature is to increase the capability of players with weaker aim and those whose aim suffers when focusing on the movement required to be successful. While Granvir: Zero Front isn't demanding the player land constant headshots, the importance of resources management and costs of using too many resources leads poor aim to have a large effect on gameplay despite aiming not being an element of the game made to be particularly engaging.Lock on targeting still comes with some drawbacks compared to manual aiming. While in lock on targeting mode, a small targeting inaccuracy debuff is applied and switching targets requires time while the crosshair adjusts. Players with strong aim and a preference for manual targeting should still find value in sticking with manual targeting. If you prefer to switch situationally, you can toggle between the two modes using Q. If you have a strong preference for one or the other, targeting mode can also be changed from the settings menu and the toggle keybind unbound. Lock on targeting has been enabled and bound by default, so if you have a preference for manual aim or bound another function to Q, be sure to update your settings.Granvir: Zero Front will continue to be developed with both manual and lock on targeting in mind. The goal of this feature is to improve accessibility, so there will be no incentives to use either targeting system beyond their own merits and player preference. Certain parts may incidentally synergize better with either system but no parts will be added to directly modify the power of either system.Big adjustments to missile weapons have also been made this update. Due to the slow moving nature of their projectiles, missile weapons that don't immediately take down their targets upon arrival have struggled as ...

Update 2.49.0: Shoulder Shields and Long Range Rifle

This week's update introduces a batch of armatures with shoulder mounted shields. These shields are smaller and weaker than handheld shields but can be used on supporting and filled armatures depending on the weapon. Since shoulder shields don't offer much coverage from projectiles, their best use is to deflect melee attacks on builds that otherwise would have no access to a means of parrying. Certain shields can also be used to body slam enemy Granvir when raised, inflicting damage based on total mass.2.49.0Major FeaturesAdded 6 new armatures with shoulder mounted shields. Shoulder shields can be raised while the hand is empty, supporting a two handed weapon and while holding most weapons. Weapons that prevent the shoulder shield from raising when being held include those with wide or awkward grips incompatible with the raise pose like axes, scythes, and launchers. Some shoulder shield arms enable a light body slam effect when raised.Minor FeaturesAdded the BN01 Echo rifle, a tier 3 two handed rifle with high accuracy, an extremely small 2 round magazine and long reload time.Reduced the ammo efficiency balance weighting of overkill prone weapons from 1.5x to 1.2x.Increased the ammo efficiency balance weighting of ammo inefficient weapons from 0.5x to 0.66x.Adjusted melee shield hits to directly consult the mech's active parries instead of directly taking damage and bouncing the attack regardless of its parry break strength. This change means shields not raised to block will no longer bounce melee attacks.FixesFixed certain lock on weapons not using their installation side to pick a control group preference.Fixed upgrading enhancement levels applying incorrect stat value modifications.Fixed upgrading enhancement levels on held weapons applying less of a performance modification than applying the same enhancement without upgrading an existing one.Fixed being unable to apply melee damage boost enhancements to certain hybrid weapons.Fixed carrying cases appearing with ...

    Update 2.48.0: Ammo Feed Variants

This week's update introduces 3 new munitions feed variants. Each variant only slightly expands the munitions feed but gives ranged builds new avenues to become more powerful. The Overloader Feed improves damage per shot at the cost of reload speed and ammo efficiency, ideal for builds that want to hit hard right away. The Turbo Feed allows you to boost your reload speed at the cost of heat generation, ideal for builds with plenty of spare heat and a small amount of weapons they want to keep firing. The Cushion Feeds reduce reload speed but provide a large amount of recoil control, ideal for builds with multiple sets of simultaneously firing weapons. Each new feed has a variant at tier 2 and 3.Stat comparisons have also been added so you can better compare items. You can find them in shops, the inventory and the mech builder. In the mech builder, the stats of the hovered item are compared to the currently selected part.2.48.0Major FeaturesAdded color coded stat comparison highlighting for single value stats to comparison tooltips in shops, the inventory and the mech builder.Added the OF Overloader Feeds, back modules that slightly expand munitions feed size and boost damage per shot while reducing damage per ammo and reload speed. These feed expansions are NOT included in the munitions vendor's munitions feed options.Added the AF Turbo Feeds, back modules that slightly expand munitions feed size and reduce reload speed but allow reload speed to be boosted at the cost of heat generation. These feed expansions are NOT included in the munitions vendor's munitions feed options.Added the PF Cushion Feeds, back modules that slightly expand munitions feed size and reduce reload speed but greatly increase recoil control. These feed expansions are NOT included in the munitions vendor's munitions feed options.Minor FeaturesAdded the CS Carrying Case handheld utilities, cargo capacity expanding parts that are held in armatures and can be quickly dropped with a control or by at...
