Build your team of allies and power up in the enchanted forest of Heroes Against Time. Navigate treacherous ruins and fend off enemies as you race against the magical fog.
About this game
Create the Perfect Team
Each ally has their own ability, event outcomes and synergies...
However, draft carefully: because without knowing how to scale your team to victory, you'll end up as a snack for the bigger threats which lurk further within the woods...
Snappy Runs, Deep Strategy
Beneath the quick pace is a layered roguelite system that rewards planning and adaptability.
Runs take only 10 minutes once mastered
Build powerful scaling combos as your run unfolds
New mechanics unlock over time
Easy to learn, endlessly replayable

Map Navigation
Tread carefully, for the forest is fickle... and the fog will always follow. Every tile is a choice.
Prioritize the right tiles for your team's needs while knowing when to improvise
Watch out for the creeping fog which closes in from the edge of the map
Clever decision-making can make (or break!) your run
Easy to Learn, Hard to Master
Deceptively simple rules combine into a game that's both familiar and unique, full of secrets and challenges... do you believe you have what it takes to overcome the enchanted forest?

Major Update! New relics, map and more
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45600771/553e8c159e791551b5a71725143e44e74ef0e065.png Hello all Heroes, Villians and Others! These past few months I've worked on a content update for Heroes Against Time to make the game more fun. It includes two new shop items, new relics, some event changes / additions, and a long requested feature to be able to use characters from all sets together - in a new map for players who have beaten the game. Hope you enjoy it! -David {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45600771/ce57919107aa455c940066c2768d187037b88f65.png Patch notes: New content: New option for healer in the event New event for Enchanter + Rogue Vampire blood moon event changed from gain ATK to gain max HP, which should help the vampire not invalidate its build when used with blood mage. Four new relics: "Cursed Sword" - When you gain 5 or more ATK, increase max health by +6. Suffer 2 damage in combat (Meant to help create some uncommon combos and give more self-damage options) "Lens" - When you delay fog by 3 or more turns, buff leader ATK by 7. Also delays fog by 3 turns when acquired. (Yes, these stack). Dragon Scale - Suffer 6 damage when acquired. Increase all HP gain by +1. (Meant to help various max HP gain builds at a low price or give a bit of self damage) Root - When you dig layer 2, heal +10 HP. Quickly dig 1 layer in ruins. (Another dig relic, which is also a heal relic.) New shop items: "Random relic" which is an unkown option if you prefer not to buy the other relic in the shop "Practice" which increases captain effect by +1 "The World" map, unlocked after the last map to let players experiment with all sets combined. It's naturally unbalanced but moreso meant as a challenge / playgrounds. Content removal: Sapling - This relic felt like a guaranteed victory in early game and irrelevant in lategame when most relic gains happen. Enchanted Lance - This relic came with its own drawback, and was only good for combat focused teams and even then was often useless later on in the game. Post Release Plans + Halloween Palette!
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45600771/2cdf80a2b3181868fd86dd020f1bb09c8db6c9f7.png Hello heroes, villains and others! Thank you so much for the warm reception to Heroes Against Time!!😊 Your kind words in the Steam reviews and Discord really mean the world to me 💖 I wanted to write an update to share my future plans for the game + a secret code for a new Halloween themed palette at the end too! (feel free to skip there if you wish!) {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45600771/e90b23a058c63b9724a556dba954a8596f84c48a.gif Big Update Plans Heroes Against Time was always intended to be fully released as a complete game, so I don't plan to release constant updates with new content for the game. And while there are some minor issues, like balancing which could be tuned a tad bit better for example, I'm still really happy with the state of the game overall. That being said, I did add a bunch of small quality of life updates and fixes these last few weeks; And.. I do want to make a big update with some final additions and improvements. Here are my plans! What will the big update contain? At least two more things to buy in shops A handful of new event options Removing two relics and adding four new relics (Enchanted Lance and Sapling) In addition to these, there are some things I'd like to add but I'm not entirely sure if I'd be able to...! Stuff I might add: Modding system to let you create your own sets Steam workshop support More palette challenges New mechanics An extra map where all sets can be encountered Multiple save slots Character rebalancing Minor visual improvements In addition to that, I'm always open to small improvements and quality of life additions. I released an update with some small improvements yesterday, and I might do a few more similar updates in the future. https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3667720/view/541119816328544537?l=english While I say the game is done, it would be cool to create a sequel to it sometime!
