Navigate the logic puzzles and communicate effectively as you and your friends are sucked into a VHS tape’s universe, solving challenges inspired by classic movies to escape.
About this game
Important: Tape Us Out is a fully online cooperative experience. To play, two players are required, each with their own copy of the game and a a way to communicate with one another.
Narrative
It all begins when two friends, passionate about antiques, stumble upon a garage sale. Curious, they explore the place in search of relics until they come across a box full of VHS tapes. Among familiar and worn-out titles, one tape stands out: Tape Us Out — a name neither of them had ever heard before.
Excited, they decide to have a surprise movie session that afternoon. Little did they know that by pressing play, they were about to dive into something far beyond a simple film…
In the blink of an eye, the two are pulled into the TV.
Now trapped, they must journey through worlds inspired by different cinematic genres: from epic high-fantasy adventures, to the tension of a crime thriller where every second counts to defuse a bomb, and even the horror of being hunted by a monster.

Gamescom Latam 2026
Hey everyone!First of all, I just wanted to thank everyone who was able to come to the event, stop by our booth, and play the Tape Us Out demo. I truly hope you enjoyed it. I absolutely loved talking to you all, meeting each one of you, hearing your stories, and seeing everyone having fun together. You were all incredibly kind to us.And I also need to thank you SO MUCH for the patience you had with our beloved Wi-Fi, which honestly made me want to throw myself off a building about 30 times. Just kidding… or maybe not LOL.Even with all the chaos, it was an amazing event. We met so many different people, talked to publishers, content creators, other developers, and lots of people who are truly passionate about games. Was it exhausting? Absolutely, but it was fun every single second. One of the coolest things was seeing people’s reactions to the VHS decorations scattered everywhere. It was so funny whenever someone looked at them and went, “OH MY GOD… I used to watch Toy Story on these,” and then suddenly they’d start sharing childhood memories… that honestly warmed my heart so much. But then there was also the younger crowd staring at the tapes in complete shock like, “What the hell is this thing?”And speaking of special moments… something REALLY surreal happened to us!!!!!Our biggest inspiration was at Gamescom. The We Were Here team was there showcasing their new game, We Were Here Tomorrow, and we literally ran up to talk to them like excited little kids. It was one of those moments where you’re just like: “OH MY GOD, I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S ACTUALLY YOU GUYS.”They were incredibly kind to us, talked with our team, got to know our game, and it ended up being such a special experience for all of us.And for everyone who couldn’t make it to the event or didn’t get the chance to play our demo: We’ll have news about the demo very soon.Thank you so much for all the love and support for Tape Us Out. It was really special getting to experience all of this with you.Read full article on Community Announcements (sophy)
