About this game

Step into the role of a tram conductor robot in a future where humanity is preparing to leave Earth. Are you suited for something greater than being scrapped?

You have 7 days, 7 routes, and a series of unpredictable encounters and events ahead. There is always more than one way to act and your choices will shape the story and its ending.

You’re bound to the rails. Your story isn’t.

Key Features:

• Play your own way — every situation allows for different solutions. Experiment with items, discover unexpected combinations, and unlock new paths.

• Explore the world — passenger stops, random encounters, and obstacles along the route. A variety of locations with unique design and interactions.

• Remeber the consequences — characters are not just resources, and the city is not just a backdrop. Your actions will have lasting impact.

Goodbye, Earth!

By the end of the 21st century, as hopes for Earth’s future faded, the Great Exodus project was launched — a program to build interstellar arks capable of carrying humanity to distant planets. The ark is a marvel of engineering, but it takes years to build and has limited space. The first was completed after 15 years and mostly carried the elite. The second is almost built, and everyone clings to the hope of securing a place aboard it.

All available resources are being redirected to support the project, and an extensive audit is underway to identify anything that could serve the Great Exodus.

Even an old, but still functional robot-conductor has been chosen for the re-evaluation…

🚋 Some good news and an important announcement!

Dear passengers, today I’ve arrived with some good news!First, an update on the project itself. Since the launch of the ECHO RAILWAY Steam page and the previous announcement, a lot has changed: the game is steadily turning into a real game and is now being actively developed in Unreal Engine. You can see the progress for yourself: the page now features a new trailer and screenshots from the current build. There’s no exact date for the demo yet, but development is moving full steam ahead!Second, about the Rising Tide #2 contest by Blue Ocean Games. ECHO RAILWAY has made it to the Top 100 finalists out of over 400 submissions. The winners will have an investment interview and possibly secure funding. Needless to say, this is an opportunity we simply can’t miss, and ECHO RAILWAY already has a good shot at reaching the Top 10.All we need is your support! If you’d like to help the project and increase its chances of winning, you can take part in the voting. Go to the Blue Ocean Games website, create an account, and make sure to verify it via Steam. Then you’ll be shown a random selection of participating games. Just assign each to one of three categories. When ECHO RAILWAY appears, please choose the TOP 10 category.Yes, it takes a bit of your time, but it’s a priceless contribution to the project’s future — and I’ll be endlessly grateful for it.Thank you so much for riding with us! – The Depot Chief

    Welcome aboard, passenger! 🚋

Welcome aboard, passenger! 🚋 Today marks a milestone for the project, and I’m excited to finally share it here on the ECHO RAILWAY Steam page! It all started with an idea to create a trailer for a game that doesn’t exist — something I originally saw as a portfolio piece. But even before I began creating it, I approached the task as if I were developing a real game: I wrote design documents and shaped a full creative vision. The feedback was so warm and inspiring that I made the decision to turn this "nonexistent" game into a real one. ECHO RAILWAY is now in early development, with a demo version planned in the future. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45620164/500bd09dbd3a6729102ae8448c6377e87f38689d.jpg In the game description, I’ve shown the core features of the project — those won’t change. They represent the base of the experience I want to build. I wouldn’t exactly call it a mix of a tram simulator and a detective adventure — but those two ideas come very close to describing the essence of the project. For the protagonist, his job holds deep meaning — it’s what he was originally created for, the reason he came off the assembly line. But the city — alive and unpredictable — won’t let him ignore the events unfolding around him. I want to give players the freedom to choose their own style of play: whether it’s simply staying a tram driver and enjoying the rhythm of the rails, or diving into the layered mysteries like a true detective — there will be plenty to discover either way. So what inspires ECHO RAILWAY? In many ways, it’s a fusion of everything I love — the romance of vast old cities, the mood of noir stories tinged with hazy psychedelia, a passion for public transportation, jazz, retro-futuristic sci-fi, and much more. The metropolis in this world isn’t a specific place — it’s a blend of cultures, eras, and emotions. A place where everyone can feel like they belong. Right now, more than ever, we need stories that bring people together. Someday, I hope players from around...
