About this game
ESCAPE PROTOCOL
In this co-op survival horror game, you awaken inside a structure where physical reality has collapsed. Corridors leading to voids, twisted architecture, and unidentified entities drag you into a battle for sanity and survival. Communicate, solve puzzles, expose the saboteur, and find a way out of this decaying dimension.
The map reshapes every playthrough!
Reality is breaking apart, and dimensions are colliding. You and your team must survive in this twisted structure filled with traps and supernatural entities, and find a way to escape.
Unknown Entities
Unknown entities drawn into this realm from different dimensions and realities roam around. They respond to sounds, movements, and environmental interactions. Your mission is to survive among these dangers and remain as silent as possible. Because some things awaken only by sound.
Puzzles change every playthrough!
Puzzles rearranged differently each time require careful exploration and teamwork. Use your wit to navigate locked doors, trap mechanisms, and environmental clues. Every solved puzzle brings you one step closer to escape.
Last Soldier Standing!

DEVLOG #2: Toxic Atmosphere, Advanced Threats, and Redefined Survival
Hello Backrooms Fans! Thanks so much for the great response to our first devlog!Since then, we’ve been hard at work on the game and adding new features. Now, we want to share some of the latest things we’ve been working on. New ways to survive, new dangers to face, and changes that should make exploring the Backrooms even more intense.Let’s dive into what’s new! Watch Your Breath: Toxic Zones & Gas Masks Now, running from whatever is after you isn’t your only concern. Some places are now filled with toxic gas, and going in without protection is a bad idea. You’ll need a Gas Mask to explore these spots. But be careful… The filters run out, so you’ll need to watch how much time you have left. We’ve added some details to make wearing the mask feel more real. Your vision gets limited, you’ll hear your character breathing, and the visor can slowly fog up. It might seem like a small thing, but when you’re already lost, having your vision blocked by your own breath makes things even harder. You’ll Feel It: Dynamic Damage Feedback We also wanted it to be more obvious when your character gets hurt. Now, instead of just watching a health bar drop, your character reacts to what’s happening in real time. As your health and stamina get lower, you’ll notice things like blurred vision, glitchy HUD elements, and heavier breathing. That heavy breathing can even help nearby threats find you.The idea is simple. You shouldn’t have to keep checking the UI to know you’re in trouble; your character will make it clear. Coming Back Isn't Simple: New Respawn SystemWe’ve also been building a new respawn system that fits the game’s co-op styleWe don’t want to spoil the details yet, but bringing a teammate back won’t be as simple as pressing a button and waiting. You’ll need to work together, time things right, and take some risks to bring someone back. We’re still tweaking the system, but we’re excited about how it fits into co-op play so far.Level 3: Darker, Stranger, and More Dangerous We’re exci...Read full article on Community Announcements (Mario)AnnouncementsOfficial
DEVLOG #1: Backrooms Variants and the "Hunt" Begins
Hello, explorers! We have reached an exciting milestone that transforms both the scale and mood of the game. With this update, we are venturing past the familiar Backrooms corridors and introducing unique Level Variants for you to discover. This update is not only about surviving, but also about joining forces with your team to outsmart and capture the lurking entity.Backrooms Variants and Regional PuzzlesInstead of monotonous corridors, we have added different themes that capture that uncanny "Liminal Space" feeling of the Backrooms universe. Each region features its own internal mini-puzzle:The PlaygroundThe MallThe GauntletDynamic Experience and CommunicationThe journey shapes itself based on the number of players.Co-op Mode: When separated, your only lifeline is the Walkie-Talkie. A discovery made by one player could be the key to the other's survival; but how you convey that information is entirely up to you.Solo Mode: If you are alone, the environment and mechanics adapt to your solitude. Without a second pair of eyes to rely on, spotting the danger in the details and finding the way out depends solely on your own intuition." Main Loop: From Parts to WholeWe have changed the game's flow. You are no longer just running away; you are setting a trap: Explore, Collect, and HUNT!Read full article on Community Announcements (Mario)AnnouncementsOfficial
