Explore a haunted field where each step uncovers new mysteries. In No One Leaves the Field, search for your car keys and uncover dark rituals before ancient forces close in.

About this game

No One Leaves the Field is a first-person folk horror game set in a cursed wheat field that changes every time you enter.

After swerving to avoid a dog on a lonely back road, you wake beside your wrecked car—keys missing, phone dead, and wheat stretching endlessly in every direction. The wind whispers your name. Shadows move just beyond the edge of your flashlight. You are not alone here.

Explore the field and uncover the story of the family who once called this farm home. Notes, objects, and strange rituals reveal how desperation turned to witchcraft, and how a plea for salvation birthed the curse that traps you now. But the wheat is alive, and something old watches from within.

What Awaits in the Field

🌾 A Maze That Shifts Each Run
Paths, landmarks, and secrets rearrange with every attempt to escape.

🕯️ A Silent Scarecrow That Hunts
It doesn’t run. It doesn’t speak. It waits—for you to make a sound.

🔦 Light, Sound, and Instinct
Use your flashlight to navigate and listen closely for danger in the dark.

🏚️ Environmental Storytelling
Find notes, candles, and ritual items that reveal the tragedy behind the curse.

Can you escape the field… or will you become part of it?

    Dev Update – November 30, 2025

Hey everyone! We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend. After taking a little time off, we’re back with fresh updates for No One Leaves the Field and a look at a new project we’ve been experimenting with.🧿 Demo Improvements Based on Player FeedbackWe recently received our first Steam review for the demo. While it came in as “Not Recommended,” we genuinely appreciate the feedback. Every comment gives us a clearer look at what players are experiencing and where we can continue improving. Here are some updates already live in the demo:✔ Faster Running SpeedMovement now feels more responsive and increases the tension during chases.✔ Better Wheat MovementWe adjusted the slowdown caused by the wheat to make traversal smoother and less frustrating.✔ Lower Fog IntensityVisibility is improved while still keeping the atmosphere thick and eerie.✔ Adjusted Scarecrow BehaviorThe Scarecrow’s speed and chase logic have been tuned. Escaping when spotted is now more balanced—still tense, but fair. These updates should improve the moment-to-moment experience and help first-time players better navigate the field.🌾 What’s Next for the Demo? We’re actively exploring ways to improve:More memorable map markersBetter loops and pathingStronger visual landmarksThese changes tie into our procedural generation system, so they’ll take more time—but they’re on the roadmap.**👉 If you haven’t tried the demo yet, now is a great time. All improvements listed above are already live. Your feedback helps us shape the full game.**🎮 HexFire: Shape Swarm (Working Title)We’re also working on a small side project: HexFire: Shape Swarm, a survivor-like action game with fast runs and a retro-arcade vibe. This game will be part of our upcoming Digital Sagas Arcade series.Planned Release Pathitch.io — paid downloadIndie Sagas website — playable for Patreon membersWebGL version — play in the browserTarget launch: end of 2025If players enjoy it, we’ll consider bringing it to Steam and Epic as well. Why This Pro...

    Devlog Update – November 16, 2025

Hey everyone! Here’s a look at what we’ve been working on this week for No One Leaves the Field.🌾 Expanding the WorldA big focus this week has been planning out the main game beyond the demo. We officially laid out the remaining landmarks you’ll discover as you explore deeper into the cursed farm. We’ve started building the first of these major locations—the Barn—which will play an important role in early progression. But that’s only one part of the expanded world.New areas being designed include:The Pumpkin Patch – a new ritual-focused area tied closely to the harvest themes.New rooms inside the Farmhouse – sections that were locked off in the demo will open later in the game.Ancient Ruins – hidden remnants of the land’s old beliefs, offering new story revelations (and dangers). These locations will slowly unfold across the game’s four narrative acts.📖 Structuring the Full GameWe’ve been refining the main game loop and have officially broken the full story into four acts. Each act introduces new challenges, new rituals, and deeper insights into Halwena’s curse. This structure helps us pace the storytelling while keeping the roguelite progression at the core of the experience.🎥 Community Playthrough SpotlightWe had another great playthrough this week—this time from VTuber Mayshing_vtuber, who featured the game during the 2025 Indie Playtest Fest.Watching new players experience the field continues to be incredibly helpful as we fine-tune the early-game flow and tension.⭐ Try the Demo & Join the CommunityIf you haven’t played yet, the demo is available now!👉 Play the demo and let us know what you think. 👉 And if you’re enjoying the journey so far, wishlist the game—it really helps the project grow. Thanks again for all the support. More updates coming soon as we build out the next major areas of the farm.No One Leaves the Field on Steam

From Streams to Scarecrows: A Better Demo Update

As autumn deepens and the last of the harvest fades, the field remains alive. No One Leaves the Field continues to draw new players — and this week, we’ve seen more brave souls venture into the cursed wheat, uncovering its secrets and sharing their experiences.Watching the community engage with the game has been one of the most rewarding parts of development. From streams to feedback messages, every reaction helps shape the experience and reminds us why we’re making this world in the first place.🎥 Community HighlightsThis week, we were thrilled to see new streamers take on the challenge of escaping the field. Special thanks to Illidanyx and NeviahofFlame, who streamed their playthroughs live on Twitch.Seeing how each player reacts to the scarecrow’s slow pursuit — and how differently everyone explores the field — has been both insightful and entertaining. Their streams also provided valuable feedback that helped guide our latest round of updates.🛠️ Demo UpdatesBased on player feedback and streamer observations, we’ve made a few important refinements to the demo:Quality-of-life improvements to navigation and interactions.Performance optimizations for smoother, more stable framerates.Adjustments to the Scarecrow AI, making its patrols feel more dynamic and its pursuit more responsive — while keeping that unnerving patience that defines its presence. The demo now runs better than ever, and we’re incredibly happy with how far it’s come since launch.🚜 Looking AheadWith these latest updates in place, the demo is nearing its final form. Unless major issues arise, future updates will be minimal as we shift our attention to the full version of the game. Our goal now is to share No One Leaves the Field with even more players through events, showcases, and community features, while continuing to develop the complete experience — one that delves deeper into the lore of Halwena, the Harvest Mother, and expands on every aspect of what makes the demo so haunting.Expect a richer stor...
