Delve into the eerie world of Hellkind, where puzzles and exploration lead you through a chilling tale. As you uncover the secrets of an ancient cult, your every move counts in this action-packed adventure.

About this game

Trapped in the misty sanctuary of San Andrés de Teixido, you awaken to whispers of an ancient cult and their unholy rite. As the veil between worlds begins to fray, explore, solve puzzles, and escape - before you become part of the ritual.

In a mist-shrouded village of Galicia, ancient shadows stir as whispers of A Irmandade da Compaña echo once more. Long thought lost to time, the cult of the dead has resurfaced, gathering in the sanctuary of San Andrés de Teixido to summon something evil. Their ritual nears completion, and with it, the boundary between the living and the dead begins to fray. The ritual remains incomplete, for only a witch can seal the final act of summoning. Until today, they had none. But that is about to change.

You wake in darkness, the air thick with an eerie presence. Something stirs - something that should have remained buried.

Hellkind is a short and immersive experience inspired by the folklore and atmosphere of Galicia and Spain - blends exploration, light puzzle solving, all set against a backdrop of ancient religious rituals and forbidden knowledge. As players navigate the eerie sanctuary and its shadowed corners, they will feel the weight of claustrophobic tension, with unseen horrors lurking just beyond the veil of reality.

With its forgotten cults, spectral processions, and the ever-present temptation of religion, the game weaves elements of supernatural horror and mystery into a chilling experience. Every step feels like a step toward salvation, pushing them closer to unraveling the cult’s dark intentions.

    Minor bug fixes

Hello - A very small update, but it smooths out a few rough edges and clears up some confusion:Hammer can no longer break the computer. That was never the intended behavior, and it should now function as originally designed.Added a “Are you sure you want to quit?” dialog to prevent accidental exits.Pressing ESC now cleanly exits the computer interface. This should feel more natural and intuitive. Thank you, once again, for playing and sharing Hellkind. Even a tiny patch like this comes from paying attention to the way you’re experiencing the game. Every bug report, suggestion, and kind message matters. From the terminal.Emir Arkman / Motamot

Fixes - And a Personal Thank You!

Update: July 5, 2025 First of all thank you, truly, for playing Hellkind. This project was made quietly, in the late hours, with deep love for folklore, atmosphere, and storytelling. I never expected the kind of warmth and encouragement that’s come since release, and every message, kind word, screenshot, video, stream and any kind of support has meant more than I can say. A small update has just been released with a handful of tweaks and fixes, aimed at improving the experience: Volume adjustments: Several sounds in the game have been adjusted and more 3D sounds added.Input handling: Player hammer control are now correctly paused when the character is invisible.Refined wording: Several pieces of ingame text have been slightly adjusted to improve clarity and flow. These are super minor changes.Fixed the empty prompt bug: A bug where the bottom prompt would sometimes open with an empty box has been fixed.Steam Deck preparations: Made some adjustments to better support the Steam Deck in the future. This doesn’t change anything visible yet, but it lays the foundation for a smoother experience on the device in the near future. Especially the keyboard input part.Seeing people explore this strange little world and connect with it in their own way has been a quiet dream come true. I’m incredibly grateful. Thank you,Emir Arkman / Motamot
