About this game
Created by marine science non-profit Lionfish Central, and narrated by the world-renowned marine scientist and researcher: Dr. Steve Gittings, Shipwreck Discovery immerses players in the world of real shipwrecks off the coast of Destin, Florida.
As a reef-tender, you are responsible for growing an artificial reef onto a freshly sunken ship. Cull Lionfish, collect trash, and grow corals to attract myriad varieties of marine life. Contribute to making the ocean a cleaner and more biodiverse place - virtually and in real life. A portion of every purchase goes to Lionfish Central which does the same critical work you will be doing in-game.

Your coral won't grow all at once, and you can't speed run your way to a cleaner ocean. Featuring a real-time tracking system, you'll have to keep the wreck clean over multiple visits to see what each reef can truly flourish into. Enjoy the immersive underwater soundscape and interact with massive schools of lifelike fish that dynamically respond to you and your surroundings.

Huge Update
We spent a lot of time perfecting the lionfish hunting and sea scooter mechanics on Meta before bringing it back to Steam. I hope you guys enjoy the update; it will be a few weeks before we have all the wrecks redone but a huge optimization overall.Read full article on Community Announcements (iannn1790)AnnouncementsOfficial
First Major Upgrade
We listened to our early testers and rebuilt the core of Shipwreck Discovery from the ground up because the 1st release didn't feel right once on the platform. As we updated the marine life and systems, it became clear that to deliver the experience players expect from modern VR, we needed a cleaner, more powerful framework. This update brings smoother performance, better visuals, more realistic local fish behavior, and a world that feels alive instead of scripted. Everything loads faster, runs more consistently, and feels far more natural. This overhaul also unlocked features that weren’t available before. Players now have improved gripping, faster and more responsive swimming, better interaction with the environment, and a stronger sense of physical presence in the water. Every part of the game was refined to increase immersion, reduce friction, and make exploration feel effortless and intuitive. The result is a more polished, more realistic, and far more immersive VR experience that sets the stage for everything we plan to build next in Shipwreck Discovery.Enjoy and let us know what you think. We are always looking for suggestions for making the game better.Read full article on Community Announcements (Gonnello)
