When you change the language mid-game, the text on screen now updates right away, and a lot of text that stayed in English is now translated. Farmers and Ranchers also keep working after the day ends. This update also fixes the day counter resetting after Day 47, the restaurant sometimes not opening automatically, and several problems with loading saves. Traditional Chinese comes in separate Taiwan and Hong Kong versions, so the language menu now has 18 options. These translations are brand new. Major Update #1 - Rancher, More Land, Full Controller Support & Much More...
Hey Backyard Chefs! Our new major update is LIVE NOW! 🎉 There’s more room for the farm and restaurant you’ve been picturing, and more help to keep them running. Expand into four new plots of land, stock up with two new larger storage shelves, leave animal care to the new Rancher, and let your Waiters collect money from tables. Staff management is smoother too, with more flexible assignments, smarter task handling, staff customization with new appearance options, and a refreshed Management Screen to help you see what’s working and what needs attention. Building and decorating should feel smoother as well, and yes, you can finally move the big tree. 🌳 You can also customize your keybindings for keyboard/mouse and controller. And controller support is finally here for Xbox and DualSense, while Steam Deck now runs at 60 FPS with an improved handheld experience. 🐄 Meet the RancherThe dining room is full, and the chickens need feeding. You don’t have to handle both.Complete the Rancher research to hire your newest crew member. They’ll feed your animals, collect what they produce, and bring it to your shelves. They’ve got the barn shift covered while you keep the restaurant cooking. 🌱 A Lot More Room to GrowIf your restaurant and farm have started feeling a little cramped, you’re going to like this one.Expand into four new plots of land, giving you much more room to spread out, build bigger farms, create larger restaurants, reorganize your production areas, or finally start that unnecessarily huge business you’ve been planning. 👀You can keep your current save, too. Your existing land and placed items stay exactly where they are, and the new plots are simply available to purchase.👕 Staff Customization & Daily BonusesApparently running a restaurant wasn’t enough. Now we’re doing fashion too.Customize your staff from head to toe, choosing their clothing colors, bottoms, shoes, skin tone, eyebrows, and beard or mustache options. Or just hit Randomize when you’re feeling experim...Read full article on Community Announcements (giantsevo)Patch NotesOfficial
Major Update is LIVE on the Beta Branch!
Hey Backyard Chefs! 💚 👩🏻🍳 🧑🏻🍳 Our next major update is now available to test on the Beta Branch, and this is a big one. A lot of what’s in this update comes directly from things you’ve been asking us for, so we’re really excited to finally put it in your hands. The Beta Branch is where we test and polish new updates before they become available to everyone. Please note: This is a test build, so you may encounter bugs, balance issues, or things that still need a little more work. If you’d rather wait for a more polished experience, please stick to the public version for now. Want to help us test the update? Here’s how to join: How to access the Beta Branch Take a look at what you can jump into right now: 🐄 Meet the Rancher {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45711316/bf7b59741a4497260f0f5322301ca83220d3c1fc.jpg Running a restaurant is already a lot. You’re cooking, farming, building, managing staff, serving customers… and somehow you’re also supposed to remember that the animals are hungry. Well, not anymore. Your new Rancher is here to take some of that chaos off your hands. They’ll feed your animals, collect what they produce, and keep the barnyard running while you focus on everything else happening around the restaurant. So the next time the dining room is full, the kitchen is on fire, and your crops need attention, at least you won’t also have to sprint across the farm because you forgot to feed the chickens. 🐔 🌱 A Lot More Room to Grow If your restaurant and farm have started feeling a little cramped, you’re going to like this one. There’s now much more land available to expand into, giving you a lot more freedom to spread things out, build bigger farms, create larger restaurants, reorganize your production areas, or finally start that unnecessarily huge business you’ve been planning. 👀 🎮 Full Controller Support This was one of the biggest requests, and we didn’t want to stop at simply letting you walk around with a controller. You can now play through menus, the tablet, buil...Read full article on Community Announcements (giantsevo)Patch NotesOfficial
