About this game

Siegebound: A Roguelike Tower Defense Strategy Game

Siegebound is a survival game about holding the line against constant sieges.
You build your defenses, deploy units, pick upgrades during the run, and try to survive as long as possible.

It mixes base building, tower defense, and roguelike progression into one loop where every run plays differently.

Features

🏰 Build Defenses
Place walls, towers, and support buildings to protect your objectives and control how enemies move.

⚔️ Deploy units and fight alongside them
Your units and buildings can be upgraded and combined in different ways.
You also control a Hero with active abilities, so you’re not just watching the battle.

🎲 Randomized upgrades as you level up
Each run gives you random upgrade choices that change how your units, buildings, and hero work.
Some runs might focus on strong walls, others on unit synergies or ability builds.

🌍 Different maps
Each map changes how you build your defenses and forces you to adapt.

No two runs are the same. Experiment with different builds and see how far you get :)

Playtest coming soon.

    Siegebound Devlog #01 – February 2026

Siegebound Devlog #01 – Mechanics Rework & Playtest StatusHey! Small update on what I’ve been working on and where the playtest is at.🔧 Mechanics ReworkSome of the core mechanics just weren’t fun enough, so I ended up redesigning a big part of the gameplay. That rework is finally done, and the game feels much better now. This was the main thing blocking the playtest, and now it’s basically around the corner :D🎶 UI UpdatesThe UI had a lot of placeholders that didn’t fit the game’s style at all. I added support for 3D models inside the UI, which already makes things look way more consistent. Also removed the last ugly AI placeholder icons that were still sneaking around.🎨 New ModelsWith most of the gameplay systems ready for the playtest, I’m focusing more on visuals.Walls were still using placeholder meshes textures and were now updated.📆 Playtest Info & What’s NextSmall life update: I had to pick up a job, so development is part-time now. Progress will be a bit slower, but I’m still fully committed to finishing Siegebound.I'm currently designing and implementing several combat units and buildings as the game currently only features a handfull of them. In addition i am fleshing out the Hub Area a little bit as it is kind of empty still. The playtest is planned for the coming months. What to expect in the playtest:One full level (maybe two)About 8 Combat Units with a branching upgrade structure as well as a variety of buildingsA chance to help shape the mechanics with your feedbackYou’ll be able to opt in directly on the Steam page when it goes live.💬 Join the community on Discord to chat, give feedback, or follow development! Thanks a lot for sticking around and wishlisting the game. It really helps, especially as a solo dev working part-time.— Matzgo, Peasant GamesDiscord YouTube

Getting Ready for the upcoming Playtest!

Hello! I’m Matzgo, the developer behind Siegebound, and I’ve got some exciting updates as we approach our first official playtest.🔧 Finalizing GameplayI’ve been working on improving core gameplay systems — especially character and unit abilities, along with the buff/debuff mechanics.Buffs and debuff system (like stun, silence, etc.)Creating a variety of abilities for a diverse set of units and buildingsBalancing units and buildings to keep gameplay fair, but still exciting🎶 Juicing Things UpI’ve also been adding some much-needed juice to the game. That means better feedback, more satisfying interactions, and just making everything feel a bit more alive.Overhauled sound effects using high-quality SFX assetsAdded animations for the player character and game world interactionsLevel-Ups and abilities now feel more impactful with improved visuals and audio🎨 New Game Models & TexturesNow that most of the gameplay side is in place for the playtest, I’m focusing on visual improvements. Some things are still using placeholder models, so I’m cleaning those up.Creating proper models for key buildingsDeveloping an improved shader for buildings and unitsTexturing assets to match the overall style of the game📆 Playtest Info & What’s NextI’m aiming for a Steam playtest launch in the coming months. No exact date yet, but I’ll post another update as we get closer! You’ll be able to opt in directly on the Steam pageA single level of Siegebound offering a unique roguelike survival game with a large variety of unitsYou’ll have the opportunity to help refine the game’s mechanics and build a better game together with me💬 Join the community on Discord to chat, give feedback, or follow development! Thanks so much for sticking around and following the journey. Can’t wait to share more with you soon!— Matzgo, Peasant GamesDiscord YouTube
