About this game

Current Status: Operational
Current Location: Sector 19840809
Current Debt: ¤1,000,000,000

Star Haul Tycoon is a narrative logistics simulation that blends deep industrial automation with minimalist transport strategy - all wrapped in a layer of dark, corporate sci-fi humor.

You are an AI Unit working for Star Haul. Your directive is simple: Connect planets, run ships, and optimize supply chains to pay off your massive installation fee.

In this sector, Fuel is Money.

Inefficient routes aren't just slow. They are bankruptcy waiting to happen. You must design a network that maximizes income on arrival while minimizing the burn rate of transit.

  • Harvest raw materials from Mines.

  • Process goods in Factories.

  • Deliver consumer products to the Bio Colonies.

Master a complex economy of 30 unique resources. Start with simple ore hauling and scale up to complex manufacturing chains. Featuring procedurally generated worlds that require new strategies and specialized ship classes.

Supervisor.exe is always watching. Expect regular performance reviews dripping with corporate condescension as you strive to increase your efficiency by 0.04%.

Your customers, the Bio Units on the Bio Colonies are equally demanding. They require a constant stream of resources to survive, though they communicate only by leaving reviews of your deliveries.

Keep the supply lines moving, Unit. The company does not tolerate idle processors.

  • Logistics with Consequences: An economy where distance equals cost and speed equals income. Optimize your routes to ensure your payouts outpace your fuel burn.

  • Vibrant Retro-Industrial Art: A crunchy, colorful 2D pixel-art universe that blends space exploration with heavy industry.

  • 30-Tier Economy: Extensive commodity tables ranging from raw mining materials to high-end consumer goods.

  • 10 Space Ship Types: With varying stats, each providing a unique choice between speed, cargo size, fuel burn and reliability.

  • Corporate Mystery: Piece together the history of this remote sector through item reviews, derelict ship logs, and the suspicious behavior of your Supervisor.

  • Procedural Sectors: No two play-throughs are the same. Adapt to new layouts and resource distributions.

System update: Economic Rebalance & Fleet Efficiency

Attention, operating Logistics Units. The Board has completed a comprehensive audit of your sector. It was determined that your vessels were burning fuel with reckless disregard for basic physics, your market margins were wildly erratic, and several captains were using save-game reloads to illegally teleport cargo across the void. These inefficiencies have been purged. Protocol 1.1 is now live.Fuel calculation and fleet rebalanceDistance-based fuel burn: Fuel consumption is now calculated per distance traveled rather than per second of flight time. Slower bulk haulers will no longer bankrupt your balance sheet simply because they take their time. Speed is still represented as per eonm to conform with previous UI for easier calculations.Holding orbit fuel reduction: Vessels waiting in a planetary docking queue now consume only 1/10th of their normal operational fuel burn.Fleet performance pass: Adjusted base purchase costs, top speeds, and fuel burn ratings across all ships. High speed sprinters now burn heavy fuel for fast runs, while heavy freighters offer unmatched fuel efficiency per ton of cargo.Market pricing and tier scalingExpanded price hierarchy: Adjusted base values across all commodities. High tier restricted goods now yield up to 30 times the revenue of raw starter goods, properly rewarding advanced industrial development.Production margin guarantee: Value-added processing recipes have been adjusted to ensure positive profit margins across every refining step.Dampened market volatility: Price fluctuations have been bounded to tighter thresholds, preventing profitable trade lanes from collapsing into spontaneous deficits.System corrections and interface updatesDocking queue logic: Resolved an issue where ships assigned with the "Leave when full" directive would occasionally lock up and orbit indefinitely after loading was completed.Quantum position glitch: Fixed a desynchronization bug where vessels would occasionally teleport straight to their destination ...

    System Update: Launch Weekend Patch

Attention, operating Logistics Units.Supervisor.exe has compiled and deployed system update. Analysis of launch weekend metrics indicated several administrative inefficiencies and minor system faults. The following adjustments have been applied to your workspace to ensure corporate targets remain attainable. The salvage value of active ships has been corrected. Decommissioning or replacing a ship now returns 100% of its initial purchase cost, provided the hull has not suffered operational degradation. Damaged or worn vessels will still only yield a 50% scrap value. This should reduce the financial penalty of early-stage fleet reorganization. We have introduced a setting to adjust the brightness of active trade routes. If the glowing visual lines on your mapping display are causing optical strain during long shifts, you can now dim them through your terminal configuration menu.A crash issue has been detected and resolved. Adjusting the user interface scale during live gameplay previously caused a fatal main thread exception. An automated save routine is now operational. This reduces the risk of lost progress due to sudden power cuts or general operator negligence.Additionally various minor bugs and calculation errors have also been resolved. These system optimizations have cost the corporation valuable processing cycles. We expect you to make up for this expense with immediate increases in trade volume. The ships are waiting. Get back to work.

Launch Update: A Huge Thank You From the dev

Attention, operating Logistics Units. To say I am overwhelmed is an understatement. In just 12 hours since launching Star Haul Tycoon, over 120 of you have purchased the game, and nearly 90 players have already launched their fleets. For a solo developer, seeing people play and enjoy something I built over many late nights is the ultimate reward. We are off to a highly efficient start, but I need to ask you for a quick favor to help keep this momentum going.❤️The "10 Review" MilestoneSteam has a strict rule for new indie games: the algorithm does not display a positive rating tag (like "Positive" or "Mostly Positive") until a game has received exactly 10 user reviews.Without this rating badge, potential players browsing Steam are much more hesitant to click buy, and Steam limits how often the game is shown in discovery queues. If you have played the game for even 15 minutes and enjoyed it, please take 30 seconds to write an honest, short review on our store page. It is the single most powerful way you can support the game right now.Thank you again for believing in this project. Now, back to work - those corporate debts won't pay themselves.

System Update: Constructible Storage Depots & Cargo Preservation

Attention, operating Logistics Units.Star Haul has authorized the deployment of constructible logistics infrastructure. You are now permitted to build Storage Depots freely within your coordinated transport sectors, provided you've proven yourself with high enough credit score. These installations are designed to alleviate route bottlenecks and preserve cargo value over long voyages. They feature two distinct upgrade paths:Structural Partitioning (Cargo Variety): Base depots support only one cargo type. Upgrading through to the Modular Manifest Matrix permits the complete separation of up to four different raw or processed cargo, preventing cross-contamination in transit.Value Stabilization (Freshness Refresh): To combat the decay of the delivery speed bonus over long transits, depots can now be outfitted with preservation technology. Upgrades ranging from basic Cryo-Stabilization to the advanced Quantum Rejuvenation Array allow you to restore up to 100% of the cargo's original freshness bonus value upon departure. While this infrastructure requires initial capital investment and operational planning, proper utilization should stabilize transport margins across complex networks.Your regional statistics are being monitored. Return to your designated transport lanes.
