In Crown & Conquest, strategically place chess pieces as chain-reaction bombs on a growing Reversi board to seize territory against 8 AI opponents and 4 formidable bosses in an 18-match campaign. Develop your deck, anchor your unflippable King, and charge your Queen for victory.

About this game

Chess pieces are bombs. The board grows. Cascades decide everything.

Crown & Conquest is a tactical deck-building territory game that fuses Reversi, chess, and chain reactions into something new. The board isn't fixed — it grows as you play. Drop a Disk and flip your opponent's pieces with the classic Reversi sandwich. But the real game is in the chess pieces: each one is a primed bomb. Flip a Knight, Rook, or Bishop and it fires its movement pattern, flipping everything in its path — which can flip more pieces, which fire again. One placement can unravel into a board-spanning cascade.

You don't gamble on it blind: hover any placement to see the full cascade before you commit. Plan three flips ahead, or bait your opponent into detonating their own wall.

Every turn you play from a hand drawn from your deck — Disks, chess bombs, and special cards like Shield and Convert. Manage your draw, read the board, and time your Queen's charge for an automatic strike. Anchor your territory with the King — the one piece that can never be flipped or destroyed (well... almost — a Knight will leap right over its wall).

Take it through an 18-match campaign against 8 named AI opponents, each with their own personality and play style, building to 4 multi-phase boss encounters. Swap the whole look with data-driven theme packs. Then watch the Border Decay endgame close in and force the killing blow.

Update 0.2.0 — A Fresh Look and Smoother Matches

Hey everyone! We’ve been working on making Crown & Conquest feel more welcoming, easier to learn, and smoother to play. This update brings a refreshed reading room, a cleaner interface, and plenty of gameplay fixes. Here’s what’s changed:A refreshed reading room: Improved lighting, curtains, and materials give your matches a warmer atmosphere.A consistent new look: Menus and the gameplay HUD now share a green-and-brass style, with clearer text and tidier information panels.A better view of the board: The camera sits closer and adjusts as the board grows, making pieces and moves easier to follow.Simpler campaign navigation: Choose your next encounter from chapter tabs and a straightforward match list.Clearer tutorials: Short summaries and recorded gameplay examples help explain the rules. Tutorials now follow the same opening sequence and rules as campaign matches.More reliable card draws: Empty hands automatically refill on your next turn, spending that turn. We also fixed opening draws and duplicate Queen draws.Faster turn flow: Ordinary moves now finish one second after the cascade ends, giving you a brief chance to undo. King placement still requires confirmation and remains permanent.Better match feedback: Clearer warnings announce double damage and the final turn, while cascade effects show where each reaction actually starts.More fixes throughout: We repaired missing menu backgrounds, scoring and match results, opponent abilities, boss rules, and situations where no legal move was available. Thanks for playing and sharing your feedback! Let us know how the updated room feels and if you spot anything that needs another look.
