In the Maldevere family, magic is a birthright. Your ancestors shaped the course of magical history, your siblings bend the arcane to their will as naturally as breathing… and you? You run a library. Not out of passion for books, but because your illustrious father, Archmage Dorian Septimus Maldevere, decided that without a gift for magic, you had nothing to offer the world. Rather than let your lack of talent tarnish the family name, he assigned you a fate devoid of grandeur: shelving, sorting, stamping, filing. A thankless job. A position without prestige.
At least, in theory.
Because in practice, a magical library is far from a quiet, orderly sanctuary. It is a maelstrom of requests, forbidden tomes, and grimoires that occasionally try to bite unsuspecting scholars. The question isn’t how to survive the chaos—it’s how to turn this seemingly menial task into your ascent to greatness. Because if magic is power, then the one who controls knowledge is the one who controls everything.

Mages, alchemists, and scholars flood in, eager to get their hands on the right book—and it’s up to you to keep things running smoothly. Every request is a challenge, and efficiency is the key to success.
• Scan requests, prioritize tasks, and keep your cool as the line of impatient clients grows.
• Retrieve the right books, juggle multiple orders, and ensure no one walks away with the wrong grimoire. (Giving Introduction to Pyromancy to a jittery novice? Probably not a great idea.)
• Multitasking and quick thinking are your best tools for staying on top of the ever-growing workload.

Some books are more than just ink and parchment. They come with rules—rules that must be followed before they can be entrusted to anyone.
• Check permits before handing over restricted books (and spot the frauds trying to bend the rules).
• Stabilize unstable tomes before they detonate between two bookshelves.
• Decipher cryptic runes to unlock ancient, cursed volumes.
• Manage emergencies—a potion book delivered late? No big deal. An alchemist needing The Art of Poison Neutralization right now? That’s a little more urgent.

Hello librarians! 🧙♂️📚 We’re taking a major step forward — The Librarian is no longer just a quick arcade-style experience. The game is evolving into a full magical library simulation! The original version of The Librarian was a short, time-based solo game inspired by Overcooked: deliver spellbooks, beat the timer, and don’t mess up your enchantments! But now, we’re shifting gears. Here’s what’s changing: You’ll play as the full-time librarian of a magical archive. Your job is to bring the right spellbooks to your wizard customers — but only if they’re allowed to access them. Some spells are dangerous, some customers are unpredictable, and magic doesn’t always behave. The gameplay now focuses on long-term management, reputation, and progression. As your library grows, you’ll unlock new books, meet regular clients, handle magical incidents, and expand your space with new rooms and furniture. Visually, the game moves to 3D environments with a fixed camera, while keeping 2D pixel art characters.
