About this game
Short on time? Cult Vacui is the perfect moody afternoon game - most players finish in around 2-3 hours.
Cult Vacui is a point & click with survival horror elements,
set in the late 19th century on the remote island of Barra in Scotland.
We play an unsuspecting janitor who has been given a job opportunity to maintain the Gladstone family's summer estate.
What we discover is that the day before we arrived, a gruesome blood ritual was performed on the island's population at the hands of a creepy cult.
A RACE AGAINST THE CLOCK
Our arrival has ruined the ritual, which can only be considered concluded if every person in the perimeter of the island is eliminated.
Apparently we are their last obstacle... at least that is what we believe.
We have a few hours to prepare for the last act of their insane ritual; we must prepare a strategy to defend ourselves and (hopefully) survive.
CREATE YOUR OWN STRATEGY
In Cult Vacui, every choice counts, every action we take takes time that will fall short of the final act countdown, find the right strategy to maximize your efforts (even across multiple game sessions).
FEATURES
Logical but challenging puzzles, apply the right solving strategy without getting frustrated
your every action consumes time, in a countdown to the final act
creepy horror atmosphere
multiple endings based on your game choices
Pixel art graphics handmade and thought by a real human being
Engaging and original soundtrack composed by Ascari, a musician also credited in film
Average playtime 2 hours

Cult Vacui: March 2026 Update
Hi everyone, and welcome to a new Cult Vacui update! Things are moving along nicely and, if everything stays on track, I believe this will be the final update before the official release!WHAT HAPPENED LAST MONTH?Last month was entirely dedicated to polishing. I didn't expect to find so many small issues to fix, but the worst is now behind us!About twenty people playtested the game and provided a wealth of feedback. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who dedicated their time to this project. We’ve squashed a significant number of bugs, and for the first time, I was able to share the game in its entirety. The feedback has been very positive. While I won't be able to implement every single suggestion (after all, this isn't an Early Access title designed for continuous development) many of these insights will be invaluable should I ever decide to make a Cult Vacui 2. You never know...TEXT POLISHINGThanks to Dionous Games, we have a fantastic writer on the team: Becca J. Campbell. Becca J. Campbell (Author of Empath)She is currently proofreading and revising all the text. She is a true professional! Beyond just fixing grammar and typos, she’s helping me refine the narrative flow and add better context to the dialogue. I’d like to publicly thank Becca for her amazing work.SOUNDTRACKAscari, the game’s composer, has completed the entire soundtrack, which is now fully implemented. The atmosphere is excellent, and I’m thrilled with the final result. It perfectly captures that sense of unease and dread I was hoping to convey.WHAT AM I WORKING ON NOW?For this final stretch, I’ll be focusing on:Steam Achievements: I’m currently designing the icons and testing them with the Steam SDK. I can already tell you there will be 15 achievements to unlock.Launch Trailer: I already have a vision for the launch trailer; I just need to get to work on the editing!Localization Testing: At the moment, the game is available in two languages: Italian and English. However, translators are current...Read full article on Community Announcements (LBRTY games)Patch NotesOfficial
CULT VACUI - January update
Hi everyone! First of all, even if a bit late, I wanted to wish a Happy 2026 to whoever is reading this. I hope you all enjoyed the holidays. My Christmas break was truly regenerative, even though I didn’t spend the whole time lounging around and getting drunk as I’d hoped! That’s because I’ve been busy writing and creating all the assets for the third and final chapter of the game THE ENDIt’s quite a feeling to see the words "The End" on the screen, even if this project is far from finished.Cult Vacui is still in Alpha. These days, I’m working hard on bug fixing and polishing everything as much as possible to reach a first "build" that is playable from start to finish. The goal is to have a version ready to send out to all the playtesters. I think I’m in for some cold sweats...Want to join the team? If you’d like to apply to become a playtester yourself, please write to us at: dionousgames@gmail.comTO-DO LISTBesides playtesting, I still need to refine some very important elements:Complete the soundtrack: Finalize all audio tracks.Steam Achievements: Implement them into the game.Localization: Finalize and test all translations. That’s all for now! I’ll catch up with you in the next update... hopefully with some big news.Read full article on Community Announcements (LBRTY games)Patch NotesOfficial
Devlog Update: Closer Than Ever and A Small Confession!
CULT VACUI Update Hello everyone! It's been a while since my last devlog update. I always promise myself to be more regular with these posts, but balancing family life, work commitments, and the game development itself often means these communications unfortunately take a back seat. My apologies! This is certainly one of the challenges when you're a solo developer.Regardless, quite a bit has happened since the last time we talked, so I'm excited to share the news with you all. 🔥 A Little Media BuzzI'm incredibly proud to announce that CULT VACUI was featured live during the Horror Game Awards this past September! It was truly thrilling to see the game's trailer broadcast to such a wide audience. Thanks to the exposure from this event, the game also caught the attention of IGN's Game Trailers channel, which was a massive highlight for me.In other news, the demo was live throughout the entire Steam Next Fest in October. Despite a few known issues (which I'm working hard to address!), the overall reception has been positive. We are now nearing 4,000 wishlists! This incredible support has injected a fresh wave of motivation into me to finish this project to the best of my ability.I want to take this opportunity to thank you all once again for this fantastic milestone. My thanks also go to our publisher, Dionous Games, for their continued efforts in marketing.💻 Development Status & A Small ConfessionGetting back to the core of development:The main part of the game is almost finished!I still need to fix various bugs and do a thorough review of everything. I'm planning to take some time off from my regular job specifically to tackle this final polish phase. While I should be feeling completely satisfied with the result, I have a small confession to make:The demo was never originally planned!I created it as an afterthought, mainly to give you all a taste of the mechanics I envisioned for the game. The story threads involving Henry are well-connected to the main game, but creati...Read full article on Community Announcements (LBRTY games)
