  The Roast - Update 0.14.0: Controller Support Overhaul 🎮

  Hello everyone! Update 0.14.0 is here, bringing a major overhaul to controller support across The Roast. 🎮 Controller navigation, gameplay interactions, terminals, settings, text input, input prompts, and the Action Wheel have all been improved or reworked to provide a much more complete and consistent experience. This update also brings dedicated improvements for Steam Deck and other handheld devices, along with several staff, customer, multiplayer, UI, and gameplay fixes. 🎮 Controller Support Overhaul • Greatly expanded controller support across gameplay, menus, settings, and core interactions. • Completely reworked the Action Wheel for smoother and more intuitive controller-based tool selection. • Added controller mappings for gameplay actions, interactions, utility tools, recipe navigation, item rotation, and other actions that previously relied on keyboard input. • Improved controller navigation and focus behavior throughout the Main Menu, Pause Menu, Settings, Lobby, confirmation dialogs, and other UI screens. • Added dynamic input prompts that automatically update based on the active controller and input method. • Improved support for Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam Deck controllers. 🖥️ Terminal & UI Controller Support • Added controller interaction support for the Order Terminal, Personal Computer, ATM, and other terminal-style interfaces through a virtual cursor system. • Added controller support for scrolling, clicking, dragging, sliders, and contextual Back actions. • Improved controller interaction with settings sliders, selectors, and other UI controls. • Added controller-friendly text input support, including an on-screen keyboard fallback for text fields such as the Shop Name. • Added separate controller sensitivity handling and improved analog stick deadzones. • Improved the framing and readability of the Order Terminal and Personal Computer on smaller displays. 🎮 Input & Keybinding Improvements • Fixed several cases where controller inputs could use in...

  The Roast - Update 0.13.1 (Hotfix) ☕

  Hello everyone! We’ve released a new hotfix for Update 0.13.0. This patch focuses on staff drink preparation, loading issues, interaction fixes, multiplayer stability, and several bugs reported after the Syrup & Iced Coffee update. 👥 Staff & Drink Preparation Fixes • Fixed an issue where baristas could abandon an order or get their workflow interrupted when using cold milk from the fridge. • Fixed an issue where a Milk Pitcher placed on an Espresso Machine could become unusable after a barista used the same machine. • Fixed an issue where baristas could get stuck when they could not reach the Work Counter where they wanted to place a carried item. • Fixed an issue where baristas could sometimes finish preparing a coffee but not deliver it. 💾 Loading & Save Fixes • Fixed an issue where cup lids purchased before Update 0.13.0 could load incorrectly and become impossible to interact with. • Improved the shelf slot system to prevent item placement issues in loaded saves. • Fixed an issue where some Tamper Stations already placed in the world could spawn twice in loaded games. • Fixed loading-related issues with Dessert Display Cases that could affect picking up or placing products. • Fixed an issue where milk stored in fridges could lose its refrigerated storage state after loading a save, causing it to spoil at the wrong rate. 🧊 Iced Coffee & Dispenser Fixes • Fixed an issue where interaction key prompts were not displayed for the Iced Cup Dispenser. • Fixed an issue where hot cup lids could be placed into the Iced Cup Dispenser and cause a crash. • Fixed incorrect delivery box labels for cups and the Iced Cup Dispenser. 🖥️ Interaction & Multiplayer Fixes • Fixed an issue where a player could lose control if multiple players tried to use the same device at the same time. • Fixed an issue where the Order Terminal could be moved while another player was using it. • Added the missing grab action prompt for the Order Terminal. • Fixed an issue where two Order Terminals cou...

  The Roast - Update 0.13.0: Syrup & Iced Coffee 🧊

  Hello everyone! Summer drinks are now here in The Roast. 🧊 This update introduces the new Syrup & Iced Coffee system, bringing new recipes, ingredients, equipment, and refreshed drink visuals to the game. This update was originally planned as a beta release, but we decided to keep working on it a bit longer and release it as a public update instead. Thank you for your patience and continued feedback. ☕ 🧊 Syrup & Iced Coffee Update • Added 7 new recipes:   • Mocha   • Vanilla Latte   • Caramel Latte   • Caramel Macchiato   • Iced Americano   • Iced Latte   • Iced Mocha • Barista staff can also prepare the new syrup and iced coffee recipes. • Existing recipes have been revised and rebalanced, including unlock levels, prices, and related values. • Added new market items, including:   • Iced Cup Dispenser   • Ice Machine   • 3 Syrup Types   • Iced Cups   • Lids and Straws   • Straw Packs • Milk packs can now be used as a cold milk source. • Water Jugs can now be used as a cold water source. 🥤 Liquid Visual Improvements • Updated the liquid shader system for the new transparent iced cups. • Updated liquid visuals for regular hot cups as well. • Updated liquid shaders for:   • Carafe   • Milk Pitcher   • Water Jug • Updated the coffee fill visual in the Coffee Making panel. 💾 Load System Improvements • Revised the load system to fix an issue where loading times could become very long as in-game progress increased. • Fixed minor loading issues that could occur with certain object types. 👥 NPC & Staff Improvements • Improved NPC movement and pathfinding in crowded or narrow areas. • Reduced issues where NPCs could get stuck on each other, overlap, or jitter while turning. • Fixed an issue where baristas could get stuck in a loop when they could not reach the Work Counter where they wanted to place a carried item. • Fixed an issue where baristas could get stuck in the preparation flow while making drinks such as Café au Lait and Espresso Macchiato. ⚙️ Stability & Compatibili...

You can now use the ATM to apply for business loans, borrow money, and manage repayments as your café grows. 🏦 Bank & Business Loans Added a new ATM to the game. Players can now apply for Business Loans directly from the ATM. Loan limits are based on business progression and credit history. Choose the amount you need and review the interest and total repayment amount before borrowing. Loans can be repaid before the due date. Successfully repaid loans can improve your credit standing. Missed repayments may affect future borrowing opportunities. ☕ Barista Fixes Fixed an issue where baristas could get stuck in a loop while preparing Espresso Macchiato. Fixed an issue where cups placed by baristas on the espresso machine could appear floating for clients. 🧁 Display Case & Decoration Fixes Fixed an issue where Dessert Displays could sometimes show that they contained items even when they could not be moved. Fixed an issue where some decorative items could appear invisible for clients. Improved multiplayer performance and synchronization for decorative items and NPCs.
