Explore an endless loop of guilt and discovery as you navigate a library's hidden dangers in Bring the Book back, an indie adventure from Struggle Games Studio.
About this game
You wake up in a stairwell with endlessly looping floors of the same library. Return the forgotten book and stay alert for any changes to break free from the cycle.
How to Break Free from the Cycle:
Inspect the library for any changes, some may be book-related, while others just involve little changes in the library. Some are obvious, while others are more hidden.
Walk down the staircase if no anomalies are found, or walk up if you detect an anomaly.
Make the correct decision eight times in a row to break free.
This game is a small, atmospheric anomaly-finding experience with over 70+ different anomalies, similar to Exit 8, The Cabin Factory, or False Mall. It includes some horror elements and features book-related anomalies to match the setting. Complete a cycle or even finish the entire game by discovering every anomaly.

Gameplay Videos and Streaming
Feel free to publish gameplay videos or stream the game without contacting the developer.
If possible, I would appreciate it if you could include the URL to this store page in the description of your video.
Prevention of 3D Motion Sickness
The larger the game screen in relation to your field of view, the more likely you are to experience motion sickness. If you suffer from motion sickness, effective measures include switching to windowed mode and lowering the resolution, or physically distancing yourself from the monitor.
You can also adjust the following setting in-game:
- Disable head-bobbing

Hey book lovers,In this patch, I updated and improved several parts of the game:Reworked parts of the lighting, models, and UI in the main menu to make it look cleaner and more atmospheric.Switching between old and new floors should now feel much smoother, without the strange blurry movement effect.Adjusted the lighting in the main game scene to improve performance while keeping the same visual appearance.Improved the player movement when walking down the stairs.Fixed two anomalies that were partially broken due to changes introduced in previous patches.Made several smaller adjustments throughout the scenes to further improve performance.Updated the game to the latest Unity engine version.I wish you all a wonderful weekend!Cheers, Struggle Games Studio MartenRead full article on Community Announcements (Struggle Games Studio)Patch NotesOfficial

Patch 1.1.10
Hey book lovers,In this patch, I removed all the AI voices previously used in the game and replaced them with real voice actors. A huge thank you to Seamus and Madison Bishop for their fantastic work!I started my game development journey as a hobby with no budget. It’s still a hobby, but thanks to the support for my two games, I’ve been able to earn some money and can invest it in improvements like professional voice acting. That makes me really proud, and it allows me to keep improving my games because of you. Thank you!I also replaced one 3D model that I was suspicious might have been created with AI. Since many assets were purchased from the Unity or Unreal stores, I can’t always be 100% sure how they were made. If you notice anything that looks AI-generated, please let me know and I’ll double-check. However, I’m confident that all AI-generated content has now been removed from the game.Additionally, I updated the Unity version to the latest stable release.Next, I’ll be doing the same for One Last Clip over the next few days!Have a great weekend!Struggle Games Studio MartenRead full article on Community Announcements (Struggle Games Studio)Patch NotesOfficial

Patch 1.1.8
Hey Book Lovers,In this small patch, I continued working on the game's performance, this time by optimising the light and shadow calculations. Previously, around 1,500 shadows were calculated at once, but the trouble was that many of these shadows weren't even possible due to walls or other blocking elements. I have now limited and specified this so that only around 200-300 shadows are calculated, which has resulted in a significant performance boost.I have also added a little more background noise to make the game seem less quiet.Have a great week!
