About this game
Legends of Old is a retro-style co-op dungeon crawler inspired by classic RPGs. Battle deadly foes, find powerful items, and master unique classes in this modern take on an old-school experience.
Go it alone or play with up to three friends as you face challenging enemies and push deeper into hostile territory. Every zone offers unique challenges and hidden secrets to discover.
Choose from a variety of unique classes, each with their own combat role and identity. Every class brings meaningful choices and powerful synergies to group play. Master your abilities through deliberate combat that rewards timing, positioning, and cooperation rather than twitch reflexes.
Designed for fans of the classics, Legends of Old is a deliberate return to when dungeon crawling meant danger, discovery, and camaraderie. Whether you're charting unknown tunnels or holding the line against impossible odds, every descent is a story waiting to be told.

Legends of Old v.1.1.0
Hail, adventurers! Patch 1.1.0 marks the first major content update for Legends of Old, and with it comes the unveiling of a mysterious new region: The Tangled Vale. A wild and overgrown land long forgotten, the Vale now stirs with life—and danger. What secrets lie buried among the ruins? Only those who survive will know! Ready your blades, for adventure awaits! The Tangled Vale is a new zone available from level 4 onwards, but with some content only relevant to endgame. Included in the patch are Four New Monster Types to do battle with - The Ancient Treants, the Sylvan Wardens, the Bipedal Shrillers, and a new secret monster! The Nexus has been reworked to facilitate the new zone (and future zones). Many minor improvements have been added which are too many to list here, but we're sure you'll see them as you play! This patch begins the 1.1.0 series, a planned progression of updates aimed at expanding the world and deepening the game’s systems. Below is a glimpse of what to expect from future patches: Potions Originally slated for this update, potions are undergoing final refinements to resolve some edge case behaviors. Expect their arrival in 1.1.1. Quests We began work on a series of Beginner Quests to help new players acclimate to the game. We liked how this worked and want to expand the system before introducing it. We'll probably release the beginner quests sooner rather than later to gather feedback. Scalable Endgame We’ve developed the foundation for a scalable endgame system, allowing monsters to grow in strength beyond current thresholds. Work is ongoing to ensure item rewards are appropriately scaled and meaningful for those who take on greater challenges. Hopefully, this will be in 1.1.1 as well. In anticipation of this, all named monsters in the game have been given minimum levels they can spawn at. This allows us to keep gear meaningful and proportional to the challenge of obtaining it. New Spells Several classes are due for an expansion to their spell ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Floaty)Patch NotesOfficial
Legends of Old Patch 07.14.2025
The following is a large patch which significantly overhauls certain portions of the game. If you've been waiting to create an alt, now's a good time to do so! - The way named loot is obtained has been significantly overhauled. Previously, each ‘race’ of monster had its own shared loot pool. This was problematic for many reasons, and limited our ability to place named monsters around. Now, every named mob in the game has its own unique loot table. - Added many new named monsters to be found, each with their own unique loot table. - Added over 150 items to the game, including a ton of ROG base types. These new base types include weapons spanning the entirety of the leveling process, and will help players make incremental upgrades as they progress. Additionally, many new non-weapon base types have implicit modifiers such as +health or +mana to further assist in the early game. - Did a complete rebalance of all weapons in the game. This change normalizes the amount of power granted by weapons. Early game weapons should be more powerful, and late game weapons have been reduced. Generally speaking, weapons have a damage value range from 4 on the low end to 15 on the high end. Additionally, the amount of delay a weapon type has is now much more consistent across the board. - Multiplicative scaling mods (+x% melee damage, for example) have been reduced significantly. The goal for the system is to have to trade off several slots for the bonuses, and for it not to simply be "free". We'll continue to monitor and adjust how impactful this system is. - Added very rare "+ to Elemental Pet Level" mods on items. This helps the Elementalist have additional scaling options in the late game. If this proves a popular and desirable avenue, will see about expanding its availability and adjusting base stats of pets to compensate. - Rebalanced the starting stats of all classes to allow for a sturdier early game. This should help new characters get their footing before they start to find g...Read full article on Community Announcements (Floaty)Patch NotesOfficial
Legends of Old patch 07.02.2025
- Tremor has gone on a rampage and may have opened up new areas down in the caves he resides in... - Added Floating Text Widgets for Parry, Block, and Evade, to better signal when the player has performed these actions. This should help players perform reactionary styles more consistently. - Added "Reduced Endurance Cost" and "Chance to Avoid Endurance Cost" mods to the item drop pool. - Added support for "Hexer" mobs, which can debuff or snare the player. - Added many more Named mobs to fight. - Added many new Named Items to be found. - Fixed a bug where Multiplicative Scaling from items was not working properly (+20% base melee damage, for example, wasn't actually scaling damage multiplicatively as it should do) - Fixed a bug where Voltaxic Bomb was applying Fire Bomb's Fire Damage Over Time effect - Fixed an issue where ROG items were at a lower power level than intended. Players should notice a significant improvement to mods that roll on ROG items, especially at higher levels.Read full article on Community Announcements (Floaty)Patch NotesOfficial
Legends of Old Patch Notes 06.28.2025
- Windlace (Haste) has been rebalanced. Its haste value has been reduced, as it previously left little room for Agility to meaningfully impact attack speed. To compensate, Agility now has a significantly stronger effect on attack speed. The fastest attack speeds from before are still achievable when pairing high agility + Windlace, but solo players will no longer be heavily penalized for lacking an Elementalist to cast Windlace on them. - Rogues have had their Melee Damage increased significantly. Additionally, Fire Bomb and Voltaxic Bomb have had their damage increased. - Added a new "Floating Text Widget" that lets you know when you crit. - Added new "+Melee Critical Strike Chance" modifiers that can be found on items. - Added new "+Chance to avoid Stuns" modifier that can be found on items. - Fixed item generation issues that crashed the game when very high level players killed powerful monsters - Did a full audit of every named monster in the game; they should all now have loot. - Added many new Named Items to be found, with a focus on slots that were previously too rare or didn't exist in the Named Item drop pool. These new items have been added throughout the entire game, so its worth checking out all the named monsters again. - Rebalanced Rogue Melee Style endurance costs so they can perform more abilities in solo play - Added a new Rogue Melee Style, "Breaking Point", which is described as: "After performing Eviscerate, stun the target." - Added new Reaver Curse spell, "Urtak's Verdict", which is described as: "Curses the target. Tracks damage dealt. When it exceeds a threshold, the curse triggers and deals heavy poison damage".Read full article on Community Announcements (Floaty)Patch NotesOfficial
Legends of Old Patchnotes 06.27.2025
Over the past week, we’ve shared several patch notes in our Discord server. However, we understand that not everyone is active there and have heard the community’s feedback. Moving forward, all patch notes will be posted both on Discord and on Steam to ensure everyone stays informed. Thank you for your continued support! The crafting bench has been improved in functionality. Previously, it would return a random base type regardless of what you were disenchanting. Now, the items you input have an affect on the outcome. Inputting a majority of weapons will return a weapon, with similar functionality for armor or "accessories". We intend to improve this system further in the future where two swords yields a sword, two bracers yields a bracer, and so on. Updated Slam description to "After a successful block, retaliate with a stunning blow." Updated Luminael's Vengeance description to "From the side, attack the target for elevated damage. Follow up with Luminael's Blessing.". Updated Luminael's Blessing description to "After Luminael's Vengeance, provide a heal to you and allies." Fixed a bug where Luminael's Vengeance was providing a bonus to Evasion. Fixed a bug where Melee Styles were gaining their damage bonus values even on failed styles Added new One Hand Crush options to the drop pool, to help with Paladin itemization. Added new One Hand Axe options to the drop pool, to help with Paladin itemization. Fixed a bug where Longswords were incredibly rare drops. Adjusted Party Difficulty Modifier for 3 and 4 player parties (Mobs will have less HP than they did before the patch) Fixed some named mobs loot tables. Fixed a bug where Luminael's Blessing wasn't healing properly. Fixed a bug where Mudmen could be stunned while charging and their AI would break (This doesn't affect Iceblock). Fixed a few areas players could get stuck. Fixed a few Out-of-bounds issues. Fixed an issue with "LightTank" mobs offhand damage sometimes dealing 0 damage. Fixed an issue with Chains of ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Floaty)
