Take charge of Animal Bakery's charming underground operation and uncover mysteries beneath the city. Expand your business, prepare for festivals, and dive into unique stories while exploring after-hours secrets.

About this game

Probably the cutest bakery simulation game, but all these animals swear like real thugs! Join our Discord to get playtest keys, contribute, and share your feedback to help us improve:

You play an undercover cop. Your target: some ex-con fresh out of prison. Your mission: work at his bakery, gather evidence, take him down.

Here's the twist—your bread ends up being so good that the shop goes viral. Your police chief keeps calling, furious about your zero arrests. The thug's still there. And you're too busy managing to care.

Your fortune cat tells you to "get the f--- out.", but he will also bring you more customers. You have to deal with the local seagull mobs. You have to sell some shady powder after you win your boss' trust. And you have a raccoon consultant with a mouth like Saul Goodman.

Recruit and train your employees, research new recipes, expand your store, run advertisements, stock up on new baking equipment, fill the shelves with a variety of pastries and bread, and tastefully decorate your bakery. Your goal is to provide customers with unforgettable experiences every time they visit.

You are recruited by a gang member who initially planned for a money-laundering operation. However, as an ambitious manager, you see the potential for this bakery to thrive. Explore the neighborhood after the store closes: talk to neighbors and customers, assist them, and unlock their stories. You might find yourself deeply involved with the community and falling in love with this charming little bakery.

Attract special customers like a grumpy yet amusing old bird, or the adorable yet soulful puppies. These unique customers are not easy to lure in! Discover their preferences and cater to them. Whether it’s the right ads, the perfect bakery products, or special decorations, make them feel welcome. As a reward, they’ll display unique behaviors.

Although it’s a management game, you’ll have the chance to bake food yourself or select a deck of bakery cards to compete with gourmet enthusiasts. You can also host thematic festivals in the game periodically... More games under development!

Wow, this is huge — the Animal Bakery has officially entered internal testing of the rest of the gameplay! So far, the feedback from friends and family has been: lots of things to do, never feels boring, and Chapter 4's story is excellent!(They might be biased)On top of that, we've been borrowing ideas left and right over the past little while, adding a ton of new progression systems to the game:The shop that Baga used to run has been completely revamped — it's now a subway station growth system!I am making sure each chapter brings some fresh new mechanics. Here's a little spoiler (hopefully this won't get us banned from Steam?):I've added some packing-and-checkout mini-games (3 of them!):I've also given the UI a major facelift (oh my god, what kind of hardship did everyone go through playing the old version back then?)

    Éclair Obscur: Bakedition33

Here's a concise rundown of all the major updates over the past three months (I swear I've been working hard!):The entire scene got a makeover (and there's an even prettier version in the works—mockup's ready, just haven't started yet)Tutorial feature is live! Much easier for new players to jump in!We now have a Mac version! Hope more players can get their hands on it :)You'll get summoned after work now! On certain days, NPCs will want to chat with you after hours—and I've already written out all their storylines, along with the bread and letters they ask for (I'm exhausted, haha)Continuously adding upgrades to the shop management page:And a few things that aren't in the demo yet:Chapter 4 story is done! It includes some very "gangster"-style mechanics—like guests coming to ask for different colored "sugar powder"! Chapter 5 is under production!Stay tuned!

Routine update for all our shareholders on what Animal Bakery has been up to this month: I am currently working on the story for Chapter 3, which will include two main story quests. One of them will also introduce the last big feature—festival events. I’m really pleased with how the story is shaping up. I’m also thinking about how to add some action sequences toward the end of the chapter. If any players are skilled in animation, feel free to reach out! Once unlocked, you’ll be able to choose and host different types of bakery festivals! Anyone worried that the simulation management genre gets repetitive late-game with no new content?Plans for next month: If Chapter 3 is finished, we’ll move straight to Chapter 4! Aiming to complete one chapter per month. Chapter 4 will feature more mafia-related quests. I haven’t fully started outlining it yet, but players with criminal experience (just kidding… unless?) are welcome to share creative ideas—like how the mafia launders money, what kinds of deals they make, and so on.On a side note—I have a cat now! But she’s definitely been a major obstacle to game development. I keep getting distracted by her while working. Sorry about that. But honestly, who can resist petting her?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all you bread and cake lovers! Have you enjoyed some tasty baked goods?Over the past month, I’ve released a few updates so that players won’t find the “Marketing” page empty anymore! The two currently available marketing methods can now increase the visitor capacity attracted by the Lucky Cat and the Guitar Singer.Several new furniture items have also been added:Lucky Cat After finish scolding you, the Lucky Cat will attract some customers. If you feel the scolding is too harsh, let me know and I can adjust it appropriately.Transfer Bread Rack Some players mentioned that if you have to wait until the shelves are empty before making more bread, it takes too long. With the Transfer Bread Rack, you can prepare bread in advance and let the server restock it! This rack can be placed in the kitchen or the sales area. Additionally, if you need to temporarily rearrange items on the shelves (like moving a batch of bread to another spot), you can use this rack instead of taking items off the shelf and losing them.Improved Furniture Placement Interaction In December, I participated in a game playtest event and noticed many players had trouble dragging furniture around. While it was possible, it wasn’t very intuitive and often felt clunky. So now, clicking this button will switch to drag mode (like when you first buy furniture)! The furniture will follow your mouse cursor instead of requiring you to click and drag.Backpack Optimization: Now, if a dialogue requires giving an item to an NPC, the backpack will open automatically. Also, you can now right-click on shelves to directly open the backpack and take items! This should feel much more intuitive and less confusing.A few other small improvements: Icons above furniture, customers, or chefs weren’t very clear before, so I’ve optimized those as well. Now, let’s talk about what’s next! I’m thrilled to announce that I’m starting work on Chapter 2 of the story! As for what the story will be about… ...

Playtest 002 Update: Regarding Save Files

Hello everyone!I've been testing the new content, and while there are still plenty of minor optimizations needed, I believe there are no more game-breaking bugs that halt progress. So, I've decided to put it on Playtest and await your (hopefully gentle) feedback! What's New:Added shops where you can buy items.Added a letter-sending system which can reward you with recipes and more.If you see this message and haven't finished the current demo yet (it's about an hour long – why not power through it in one go?), please try to finish it soon! The new Playtest version will use a new save file, meaning your old progress won't carry over. This decision is mainly because the new content might conflict with old saves, potentially causing issues like obtaining duplicate items. However, if you're determined to use your old save, it's not entirely impossible. You can try to force it by finding your old save file and overwriting the new one. Just rename your old save to the following: C:\\Users\\YourName\\AppData\\LocalLow\\Cushy\\animalbakery The game currently reads the save file named SaveData_002.I'm quite new to the whole process of game release and maintenance. I hope this approach is acceptable to everyone!
