About this game
This is You. You are the sole survivor of a fallen noble family. At least, that's what your dreams tell you.
Naturally, this means you must get to the bottom of it in the most dangerous place possible: the imperial palace, home to two handsome princes who are competent, charming, and almost certainly not plotting anything.
Some at court will try to kill you, and some will protect you. And some will do both, which should be alarming, but why is it rather... exciting?
Lucky for you, fear is for people who don't improvise. You fight danger with unpredictability, you navigate politics with audacity, and you break every rule you encounter… on purpose.
So, are you ready to break hearts and cause some chaos?

Lucian's got a new look!
Dear Lords and Ladies of the Ravensburg Court,September came and went so quickly! And in the last month, Fate’s Masquerade didn’t just participate in one festival, but TWO: Fall in Love AND Gema Devs of Color! 🎉 I’m so humbled to have my game alongside so many amazing games in both festivals. ArtFirst of all, Lucian has undergone a MAJOR redesign.Thanks to the numerous feedback from players and streamers, I’ve come to realise that the original design made him look a little too much like a soft, playboy younger brother, and not nearly enough like the scheming spymaster he’s supposed to be.So I went back to the drawing board and gave him a sharper look.Max also got a slight update... For a few days. 😂However, the vote was overwhelmingly against the new look, so he has returned to his original hairstyle, just a little more tidied up.The Biggest Plot Twist YetYou may have noticed that the new game description now contains a major plot twist: it reveals who killed the protagonist's family.Previously, I was still figuring out some of the major plot points, so I didn't want to reveal too much before I knew exactly where the story was going.But now that the plot is pretty much set, I think it's finally time to reveal the biggest conflict at the heart of Fate's Masquerade: You are romancing the men whose family killed yours.And yes, it's pretty much an enemies-to-lovers story... Or maybe it's a lovers-to-enemies story?Either way, your forbidden romance is pretty much doomed from the start. You might still get your fairytale ending... but it will come at a major cost. Then again, you might decide you'd rather kill everyone and burn the entire empire to the ground. Demo 4.0 Has Arrived!
Dear Lords and Ladies of the Ravensburg Court,My dear husband tells me: “The time you spend polishing your demo and marketing on social media is time you’re not spending working on your game!” And he’s completely right, of course.But… How can I not show off what I’ve been working on since the last demo, especially when I’m participating in Fall in Love Festival, which kicks off TODAY?So, let’s take a look at what you’ll find in the latest demo (Demo 4.0) that's just dropped today!Story TreeOne of the biggest updates in this demo is the new Story Tree.I’ve taken an audacious move and gotten rid of the traditional Save/Load pages. Instead, your progress is now represented by a story tree made up of circular “nodes.”\The game automatically saves your progress at these nodes, and you can return to them later to continue the story from that point. This means you can now wander through the tree, revisit your choices, and see where all those wild decisions might have taken you.The code for this entire system was done by my loving husband, who just happens to have a degree in Software Engineering😁. Thanks, hubby!ArtAs art is the soul of any otome, I update it periodically when inspiration strikes, and Lucian has had yet another character redesign. This time, he has shiny new hair and a new prince suit to make him even more bling bling. ✨ (Oh, and he has a shadow now, so it doesn't look like he's levitating.)Victoria has also received an art upgrade, with shinier hair, a fancier fan, and a detailed dress.Nerissa, Amelia, and Mother all got new hair as well, with more detail and higher resolution. More choices, more endings, better animations.
Hello esteemed lords and ladies of the Ravensburg court!First of all, big thanks to everyone who played the new demo! I’m incredibly grateful for the positive responses from the community about the latest update. Reading your feedback has made all those sleepless nights spent working on the game worthwhile.Over the past month, here are some of the things I’ve been working on:ScriptI revisited Lucian’s route and expanded the branching paths. His route now includes 3 major endings, 2 minor endings, and several accidental endings.Every decision you make, including how you think and react to the characters, will influence how relationships develop and the story unfolds.AnimationI’ve also made several code improvements. These changes are subtle, but they help the game feel more natural and immersive.For example, characters will no longer blink in perfect sync (a personal pet peeve of mine that I’m very happy to say is finally fixed!).Characters will now transition smoothly between positions rather than snapping instantly into place, making scenes feel much more fluid and lifelike.Before:After: (notice the head movement is smooth)All in all, February flew by faster than I expected.
