Embark on a chilling journey as you and up to three friends gather mythical artifacts, battling the encroaching darkness in Vasilisa, an indie action-adventure game steeped in Slavic folklore.
About this game
The 1990s. After the collapse of the USSR, an ancient evil awakens in an abandoned bunker beneath your village. A dark spirit possesses a local girl, Vasilisa, heralding the invasion of monstrous forces. You must gather a team to find rare ingredients, brew a magical potion in Baba Yaga's hut, and lift the curse from the beauty — before the village turns into a realm of terror.
Explore eerie locations with your friends, gather magical components (and strategic reserves of vodka), face fairy-tale monsters, and save your kolkhoz.
Features:
🔮 Co-op for up to 4 players or Solo play
Assign roles, trade resources, and coordinate actions using positional voice chat.
🌑 Rising Dread
Dynamic difficulty: the longer you hesitate, the more aggressive the monsters become and the thicker the darkness grows.
🏚️ Slavic Horror
Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the post-Soviet hinterlands and Russian fairy tales: brew a potion in Baba Yaga's hut, run away from the Kolobok and catch chickens to feed them to a living stove!
🌀 High Replayability
Random generation of key items, enemies, and events. An adaptive enemy AI reacts to your actions.
⏳ Intense Sessions
A race against time: save the village before midnight or become a part of its curse.

GAME RELEASE. HUGE UPDATE: NEW MAP, MONSTER, PERKS, AND MUCH MORE!
Hello! Sorry for the delay in this update. Our top priority was to ensure that all the additions we've prepared work harmoniously together and improve the gameplay, even if it took longer than planned. Now we're ready to share our work.Get your pickles ready, there's a lot in store!Character PerksGet your cigarette packs, because it's time to spend them. You can purchase unique abilities for your characters — some will help you in co-op play, others will benefit you in solo play. We've added ten abilities to choose from. You can combine any two during each game.New Map — SawmillThere is a secret research station hidden near the Village. There, they studied mythological anomalies: animated wooden dolls, giant plants, and artifacts capable of piercing through reality. You'll arrive there in an unusual vehicle to find the source of this dark power. At the Sawmill, you'll encounter new quests and a new enemy.New Monster: The Gray WolfA fearsome and ferocious hunter. He watches his prey closely and attacks if he sees bright light. Be careful, he likes to hunt from an ambush! The Gray Wolf lives in the Sawmill. And by the way, he's not the only one who can kill you there.TrapsNasty rabbits have set traps everywhere. Each playthrough will be hampered by two or three of nine unique types. The locations where they occur change with each session. Beware of bear traps, guard nesting dolls, tripwires with flares, ghosts that disguise themselves as useful items, and much more. If you have a jar handy, you can disarm the trap. Traps will appear not only on the new map, but also on the old one. And with them comes something else.Dark SpiritsThe Village and Sawmill are haunted by creepy ghosts that have arrived with the evil spirits. They won't cause much harm, but the higher the difficulty, the more often they frighten and distract! Falling paintings, living toys, ghostly claws, and black crows — dozens of unique manifestations of evil await you.Changes in the VillageThis isn't the...Read full article on Community Announcements (Steppe Hare Studio)Patch NotesOfficial
Patch 06.02.2026
Hello! In this patch, we've added a new item, changed monster behavior, added hints for new players, and fixed a number of bugs. These changes make the game even more interesting and tense, and also lay the groundwork for a number of major updates coming soon.New item:• Jar – you can throw it at enemies to temporarily stun them.• If a jar breaks near a chicken, it will be startled.• We significantly reduced the number of crosses. This is due to the addition of the Jar, which allows you to temporarily stop enemy pursuit, and to make the game more challenging.Monster Behavior:• Rabbit behavior has been adjusted. Their visibility range has been reduced. You can also now run and hide from them.• Enemy navigation has been adjusted. Enemies now enter houses more easily and quickly, making the game more challenging.• Witch behavior has been adjusted. She now reacts more actively to player sounds, is much more attentive to movement near her, and periodically searches for players on the map.• Rabbit volume has been increased. It's now easier to hear where they are and when they've spotted you.Balance Changes:• We decreased the number of chickens• We slightly reduced the difficulty reduction from feeding the stove.• Kolobok now moves faster.• The Sack of Grain is used faster.• Feeding the stove in Singleplayer reduces the difficulty more significantly.Visual Hints:• We added hints when selecting items.• When attempting to pick up an item with a full inventory, the message was not displayed. Fixed.• A hint has been added indicating that another player can be revived with vodka.Bug Fixes:• Fixed a bug with changing shadow settings• Changed the appearance of uranium so that it cannot fall under textures.• Fixed a bug where certain sequences of actions allowed you to run while sitting. • Players' injury sounds were inaudible to each other.
