About this game

Based on Age of Pirates 2: City of Abandoned Ships version 1.3.2 AT by BlackMark Studio (C).

A unique genre blending naval combat, land exploration, and open-world global map. Think Sid Meier's Pirates! meets Bannerlord.

You are the captain and owner of your own ship—the finest fate one could hope for in the 17th century Caribbean. Pledge your service to colonial powers, engage in trade, plunder merchant convoys, explore uncharted islands, conquer settlements, hunt for buried treasure, meet historical figures, recruit a crew of loyal companions, and command a fleet of legendary vessels.

Step into the role of Peter Blood, a skilled physician whose life takes an unexpected turn after being wrongfully accused of treason and sold into slavery. From these humble beginnings, you'll forge your path to freedom and perhaps become the most feared or respected figure in the Caribbean.

Or create your own character and freely explore the world of the Golden Age of Pirates.

    1.2.2 — Patch

Greetings, Captains!Version 1.2.2 smooths out the remaining rough edges, introduces important improvements, and extensively polishes the new Michel de Grammont storyline based on your feedback.Below is a detailed list of all changes.Michel de Grammont StorylinePrologue and restrictions:P.I.R.A.T.E.S. points distribution has been moved to the end of the prologue.During the prologue, all unused buildings, street citizen quests, and generators in Fort-de-France and Tortuga are disabled.Starting the "Blue Bird", "Mummy Powder", and "Slaver" quests on Martinique is now blocked (applies only to Michel).Quest scenes and battles:Adapted the "NPC to NPC" dialogue interface for the entire storyline. Added quest markers. In all quest battles, the protagonist now automatically enters combat mode. The officer's pistol has been removed in the starting duel.Improved the cutscene at the pier with Fouché and Pablo. Pablo himself is slightly weakened as an opponent, and a hint about the need to read his letter has been added.Fixed a bug that allowed renting a tavern infinitely for 10 pesos before the fight with Pablo.Changed the models for Marie's kidnappers (they are now proper bandits). Fixed a bug where bandits would attack if you gave them money and talked to them again. During the fight in the hut, bandits now spawn further from the hero so as not to corner him.Added a reputation boost and relationship improvement with the merchant (Marie's father) after her rescue.Removed black screens when loading saves in Fouché's cabin, on deck, and in the Spanish captain's cabin.Fixed a problematic boarding location in the battle with the Spanish. Fouché no longer wanders the deck after the battle but stands in place. The transition to the Spaniard's cabin is now more logical: first the conversation, then the fight. After winning, the Spaniard's cabin can be looted (extra loot added), and only then should you approach Fouché.Fouché's ship is now docked at the port of Fort-de-France or Tortuga....

    About the Franchise

Ahoy! Caribbean Legend is about to turn three. The project will get its final patches and DLC — and then it ends. But our story won't end. Quite the opposite — it's only beginning, because Caribbean Legend is now not just a game, but a franchise. Now: Two games, 11 DLCs. Soon: Caribbean Legend is getting a huge 2.0 update with new graphics, effects, and physics. And right after work on the project wraps up — an official modkit with a full-fledged IDE. The modkit already looks so good and works so smoothly that sometimes it feels like you're looking at a Unity window, not Burya Engine. Caribbean Legend: Age of Pirates still has to figure out what it wants to be, but I believe in ReCon Team, so I expect at least 3–4 more major patches with fantastic new gameplay mechanics and quests. A bit later: In the coming years, at least one more big game will sail under the franchise flag. Maybe two. Maybe none. The world is a damn unstable place, after all. Either way, the franchise isn't going anywhere. More than that — it has grown so much that players, old and new alike, could clearly use a short guide to it. Which game should you pick? https://store.steampowered.com/app/2230980/Caribbean_Legend/ https://store.steampowered.com/app/3549020/Caribbean_Legend_Age_of_Pirates/ Both. They're different, they complement each other perfectly, and they're made by different teams. Caribbean Legend is an uncompromising remake of the classic: gameplay-wise, it has drifted a long way from its roots. New players love that; veterans — not always. Today it's a huge modern RPG where most of the content is delivered in story mode. Complex, but approachable for a newcomer. Deep customization and character builds. Caribbean Legend: Age of Pirates is a faithful remaster of the classic. Classics stay great forever, so whether you loved the series back in the day or never touched it — you should absolutely give it a try. It's a fairly compact old-school RPG where most of the content lives in free-pl...

    What’s Next?

Ahoy! We had a dream: to release a remaster of City of Abandoned Ships. Actually, scratch that. The dream was to make a game of our own. Seven months ago, that dream came true. Since then, we’ve released two major patches, two story DLCs, and dozens of fixes. In many ways, we’re only now coming out of launch mode. The biggest launch fires are out, and ReCon Team has welcomed new people aboard. Now it’s time to decide what comes next — and how long we can keep working on the game. Right now, the future is uncertain. All we know for sure is what we’d like to do. We’d love to spend another year or two working on Age of Pirates and follow a similar path to Caribbean Legend, which started as a remaster and is now gearing up for its major 2.0 update. But first, we need to understand what you want from the game and whether the project can get enough support to sustain that work. What should we work on next? How long can we keep going? Only you — our community — can help us answer those two questions. Take a short survey Tell us, in your own words, what you like most about the game, what you dislike most, and what you’d like us to change. Keep it brief or go into detail — we’ll read every response. Your answers will help us decide where to focus our efforts and our (for now) limited resources in future updates. Take the survey! Leave a review on Steam Especially if you’ve been meaning to but keep putting it off. Right now, 30–40 new positive ːsteamthumbsupː reviews would be a huge help. Many of our negative reviews were deserved. But it takes three positive reviews to offset each negative one. Our rating is hovering between yellow and blue, and that makes it hard to plan another year or two of development. If you like the game and the direction it’s heading in, your review would really help right now. Caribbean Legend made it this far thanks to your support. We’d love to see Age of Pirates do the same. Thank you for playing and helping us make the game better. Keep those re...
