About this game
The B.L.O.O.M (Biotech Lethal Offensive Organic Munitions) Initiative is a fast-paced 2D top-down shoot 'em up where you pilot a drone through procedurally generated battlefields.
Harvest, Build & Defend
Your mission: gather resources, plant lethal bio-organisms, and defend your bases from relentless alien and native species on the hostile planet Shlee.
From Training to Total War
Start in a basic training drone as you learn to build, plant, and fight, then dive into intense battles as two aggressive alien factions take an interest in your expanding operations.
Upgrade, Adapt, and Survive
Upgrade your drone, adapt your strategies, and survive against overwhelming odds in this fusion of action and strategy.
Design your own levels
Build, test, and play your own levels using the same editor we used for the campaign and survival modes. Orchestrate enemy waves and boss encounters with precise timing, script on-screen briefings and prompts, choose your biome, map size, and starting funds, and set objectives like survival, relic hunts, or kill targets. Drop in spawners, buildings, resources, and power-ups, toggle weather effects, and tweak difficulty and time-of-day—then jump straight into the game to playtest and iterate. When you’re happy, package it up and share it with the community via Steam Workshop.

Create your own weapons
Design weapons inside the game from thousands of combinations. Load existing builds, set a custom weapon for your loadout, or start fresh from built-in templates like Spiral, Laser, and Missile. Edit, rename, and manage your creations, delete what you don’t need, and jump straight back into play to test them with your custom levels - no external tools required. These too can be shared with the community.

Or just play the built in Campaign or Survival sets of levels..

Bloom Initiative: Rogue-Lite Mode Is Here !
Bloom Initiative has growing a new rogue-lite survival modeFirst level is out, Bloom Initiative is expanding with a faster, more arcade-style survival mode inspired by games like Vampire Survivors and Brotato — while keeping the feel of piloting a ship with momentum through a dangerous alien world. In this new mode, the player ship is dropped into a hostile alien-infested map with no base to hide behind. Survival depends on movement, momentum, weapons, temporary upgrades, and smart decisions under pressure.Enemies build pressure around the player over time. Swarms emerge from the map, burrows produce new threats, tougher aliens drop rewards, and a boss encounter waits near the end of the run. What the rogue-lite mode addsTimed alien waves and escalating enemy pressureRandom, close-range, and edge-based alien spawningXP and level-up progression during each runTemporary combat power-upsRainbow reward drops from tougher aliensBoss chest rewardsGold collection for permanent upgradesShip upgrades and long-term progressionA 15-minute survival structure with a boss encounterThis mode is still work in progress, but the goal is to add a new repeatable survival loop to Bloom Initiative: collect XP, grab power-ups, earn gold, unlock permanent upgrades, improve your ship, and try to push further next time.More details will be shared as development continues.Read full article on Community Announcements (tremor.blue)Patch NotesOfficial
